After reading the links below, I think I very much want to get a GP2X. Basically, it's a Linux-based $190 handheld with a couple of 240 MHz ARM processors with TV-out and an SD card slot for storage (up to 4GB). It also has a $50 breakout box which lets you plug in USB devices. People have mostly used it for USB game controllers and networking, but I think it'd be fun to also try things like CD-ROM drives, webcams, and so on. I wonder if I can get computer vision stuff working on something like this...
Apparently people have been able to get things like Snes9X, DosBox, and the MAME arcade emulator working on it, so I figure it should be fun to have as yet-another-gaming-device next to our TV.
