Hey District 3 👋
You’re invited to a Community Meeting on Thursday, March 5 at 6:00 PM at the Royal Avenue Recreation Center, 421 North Royal Avenue.
Mayor Ron Tyler, Florence Police Chief Holt, and Florence City Utilities will be there to share updates, answer questions, and talk about what’s happening in your neighborhood. Hosted by District 3 Council Member Alisa Dickson, this is a great opportunity to stay informed, speak up, and connect with neighbors.
Come out, bring a friend, and be part of the conversation. Your voice matters and helps shape the future of District 3.

What a fun and inspiring afternoon at the 4th Annual Shoals Scale Back event at Harvest Mitchell Gym. Thank you to hosts Council President Kaytrina Simmons, Susan Bently (WHNP), Dr. Javar Myatt-Jones, M.D., and the City of Florence Parks & Recreation Department for bringing this wonderful event to life for our community.
Families, friends, and neighbors came together to learn, laugh, and explore ways to live healthier lives. From informative booths and wellness resources to conversations and connections, the gym was filled with energy and positivity all afternoon.
A big thank you to the vendors, volunteers, and everyone who attended and made the day so special. It was truly a celebration of community, health, and fun in the Shoals.

What an incredible turnout at this morning’s Dogwood Tree Giveaway hosted by the Florence Tree Commission.
The response from the community was very exciting, and we appreciate everyone who showed up to support growing Florence’s canopy.
If you came out and were unable to receive a tree, the good news is that a second giveaway with more trees is coming very soon. Stay tuned for details.
