Going Family 2016 Review

Our yearly review may sound like we had a wonderful perfect year, but that is not true.  If it wasn’t for our challenges and weaknesses we wouldn’t have known how wonderful our year was as a family.

As the scripture says, “For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so…righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility (2 Nephi 2:11).”

How grateful we should be for the Plan of Happiness and our Savior’s Atonement, which makes it possible for us to have everlasting happiness with our families.

May you have the Spirit of Christ this Holiday Season and Always.

Love,
Glade, Nancy, Preston, Trevor, Tanner, Sadie, & Zac Going

Glade will finally be in the 40’s club this month with Nancy.  He continues to serve on the Stake High Council.  In June, Glade started a new job with Intermountain Farmers Association (IFA).  He works as a mill worker making all sorts of animal feeds.  He really enjoys his job and loves the fact that he is not on the phones all day.  Another benefit with the job change is he has lost about 30 pounds and feeling healthier.

Nancy enjoys 3 hours of peace and quiet on most school days. She doesn’t like the fact that both Preston and Trevor are taller than her.  She continues to be a taxi driver and a referee on a daily basis.  She currently teaches the Gospel Doctrine class and enjoying the gospel study that comes with it.  After 25+ years, Nancy started playing volleyball again, but this time with the Relief Society Sisters in the Stake.

ImagePreston is 15 years old and is a 9th grader at Olympus Jr. High.  He started a new job in the fall as a custodial sweeper at the school.  He likes earning his own money, in fact the first thing he bought was an XBOX One.  Good thing he is a good worker. Over the summer he took a coding class, which he enjoyed, and he took a trip up to Oregon to visit family.  He still loves video games and likes to snowboard, golf and hang out with friends.  After 18 months of  having braces, Preston got them off this fall. He looks forward to when he can drive.

Trevor will be 13 years old in January.  He started Jr. High this year at Olympus Jr and is liking the 7th grade.  This year he has played basketball, baseball, and football.  He was an amazing center for his football team.  Trevor continues to take piano lessons and enjoys a percussion class at school.  Of course in his spare time he is playing video games.

ImageTanner is an awesome 4th grader who will be double digits (10) on his next birthday.  Like his older brothers, he also enjoys playing video games.  He played baseball last spring and in the fall, Tanner tried soccer and loved it, especially when scoring goals for his team.  He is now playing Jr. Jazz Basketball and keeps up with his piano lessons.

ImageSadie is at school all day as a 1st grader at Driggs Elementary.  On Halloween she turned 7 years old.  Sadie is our star performer.  She continues to take piano lessons.  At the beginning of the year through May, Sadie did a lot of clogging and hip hop dance.  Fall brought a change for her with acting lessons through Center Stage Players.  She had a lot of fun acting and singing in her first performance this month.

ImageZac is now 4 years old and is in his 2nd year of Preschool.  Zac is our loveable little train conductor, Batman or Catboy depending on what he is pretending to be.  He adores playing with his big sister Sadie and is very sad when she doesn’t want to play with him.  Zac has quite the imagination and thinks mom and dad can make it a reality.  He loves chocolate and chips.
