Trip to Salt Lake

Image In my last post I mentioned how we were going to head down to Salt Lake City over the past weekend to go to the Christmas Concert at the Conference Center....well there was a big storm so we didn't end up going. We decided to come down on Tuesday instead to visit Temple Square and to finish our Christmas shopping. We stayed at Little America with our gift certificate for one of the tower rooms. It was a beautiful room and Brady and I had a ton of fun at their indoor pool too. After we finished our shopping, we headed over to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. It was the first time we didn't have to wait to be seated. Then we took Trax downtown to Temple Square to check out the lights. Temple Square was packed with people as usual, but the lights were awesome. We had a great weekend and are very glad to be done with our shopping. Also, Brady was practicing his photography skills with the picture of the Temple above.Image

Our First Christmas Tree

Image Well you would think it would be easy to find a Christmas tree lot in Logan, Utah....right??? Nope, we only found one very overpriced location. So we decided to take our business to Lowe's. We actually found a very nice looking noble fir tree that would fit perfectly in our townhouse. Brady did a very good job stringing the lights on right when we got home. We think it looks pretty good for our first tree. And yes we do know that there is no star on the top of our tree. We are having a difficult time finding one that we like.

Today Was A Good Day

Image
We started the day off with my car not starting as I headed off to work. Thank you freezing Logan weather (it got up to about 2 degrees today). Then I headed off to my last day at work. Yeah!!!!!! When I got home Brady had beautiful orange roses waiting for me. Brady also finished his last final and did very well this past semester so we decided to celebrate our holiday break by heading over to the movie theatre to check out the movie The Blindside. It was probably one of the best movies we have ever seen, and we are planning on seeing it again soon. And to top off the day it is Craig's Birthday. Happy Birthday Craig!!!!!! Tomorrow Brady and I are going down to Salt Lake to enjoy some shopping and the Christmas concert at the Conference Center. We are very excited to start off our Christmas Vacation with a fun weekend. I will upload pictures from our adventures this weekend.

Christmas Wreath

Debbie and I decided to work on a craft to start off the Christmas season. Debbie found a wreath made out of ornaments on the Internet that we wanted to give a try. We ended up needing help from Craig and Brady to accomplish our craft. Craig helped with the wires and Brady was the glue boy. Needless to say, Tank was no where to be found during this activity. Our finished product turned out pretty well we thought. We also added a big bow at the top when we hung our wreaths from the door.

Thanksgiving With The Forman Family

This Thanksgiving Brady and I headed down to St. George to spend the holiday with Craig and Debbie. Brady's grandparents joined us for the Thanksgiving feast as well. We had a lot of fun visiting with family, and of course we enjoyed the big meal.

Image This picture basically explains exactly how we felt after our Thanksgiving meal. Tank is on the couch, Brady is on the ground, and I am on the ground behind Brady. We might have eaten a little too much.Image

Rulon and Gerry had a good time too!!!

Caramel Popcorn Balls

Image
We also decided it would be a festive holiday activity to make caramel popcorn balls. My mom use to make them when I was a kid, so I decided to give them a try. They actually turned out really good thanks to Tressa helping me hahah!!!

Our friends the Fitzgerald's came over to carve pumpkins on Halloween. Our pumpkins all turned out pretty good. Brady even decided to set his pumpkin on fire after he was done carving it.

Brady Hanging From A Tree

Image
Brady had a little too much fun on our walk

A Path Along Logan River

The path follows right along the river.

Logan River

Today Brady and I went on the most beautiful walk I have ever been on. The weather was perfect and all the leaves were a bright yellow. We could have walked around for hours but we had to make it to the USU football game. There were tons of bridges to walk over and there was even a railroad track crossing over the river. We might even go back again this week while there is still good weather.

Fall Break With The Formans

Image
This three day weekend was jam packed with activities when Brady's parents came to visit. On Friday we ordered some pizza and watched the Yankees 1st victory over the Angels. We also opened up gifts from Debbie. Then on Saturday morning we took a trip up Logan Canyon followed by a quick stop to pick up a pumpkin for Debbie. The pumpkin was injured on the ride home and lost it's stem. hahah! We then headed to the Utah State Football game against Nevada, but unfortunately we lost. Luckily, later Saturday evening we were able to watch the Yankees defeat the Angels again in extra innings. Our last event for the weekend was attending a wedding reception for Brady's cousin on Sunday afternoon in Salt Lake City. The whole weekend was a lot of fun and we are really glad Craig and Debbie were able to visit us before the snow hits.

Carter Griffith was born on September 15th, 2009. He is adorable and we are so excited to meet him. Hopefully Ray and Jen will let us watch him so Brady and I can teach him cool things.

This is one of our favorites thing to do....watch baseball!

Golfing at Birch Creek

Tressa and I just drove the carts....we didn't really get to play that much. We would have dominated the guys if we did play.

Labor Day Weekend

Brady and I had a big couple of days this Labor Day weekend...first we went golfing with our friends the Fitzgeralds. Then we went camping that night with them at a campsite in Logan Canyon. We were rudely awakened the next morning by the campsite caretaker at 8am, and were scolded for not having our ticket on our window. We paid the $13 in change just to get back at her. Then the following night we headed down to Salt Lake City for a Bees Baseball game. We were so exhausted that we slept all Sunday, but it was worth it. We had a blast!!

Brady's BBQ

Image
Brady had a little too much fun with his BBQ cooking our hamburgers. I think it was his favorite gift from our wedding....thank you Tank. Anyways... the burgers turned out very good, and Brady is now a BBQ champ.

Painting Our Table

Image
ImageOur first home project was to sand and paint our table. The chairs were a pain to paint, but they turned out pretty good. We have now decided that we are going to go into the painting business because we are professionals now.

Monterey California

Image
Brady & I took a little trip down to Monterey California for a mini-honeymoon.

Gardner Village Dinner

We had a dinner reception at Gardner Village for Brady's friends and family after the temple. It went really well and it was great to meet everyone from Brady's side of the family. Brady's sister Jen made a slide show of Brady and I growing up.....it made the evening perfect.
The following day we traveled back to California for our next reception. I have always wanted to have my reception in my backyard, and luckily it worked out that way. It all went really well in Morgan Hill. Thankfully everything in the backyard got set up on time and there were so many people that came to help. The whole night was amazing with perfect weather.....of course the Hickey family was on the dance floor the entire time, I got emotional during my toast as well as my dad's, the food was really good, and I was so glad all my friends and family members were able to make it.

Our Wedding

ImageBrady and I were married on August 13th 2009 in the Salt Lake Temple. Later that evening we had a dinner reception at Gardner Village. We then headed off to California the following day for another reception there as well. We had a blast seeing all our family and friends. We really appriciate all the time and effort all our family and friends put into making our wedding amazing.
