Christmas 2016

This Christmas was probably my favorite one thus far.  We opened presents in the morning, went to church at 11 am, and had the Griffith's over for dinner around 4 pm.  I LOVED having Christmas on a Sunday this year.  I thought going to church broke up the day nicely, and it made it really easy to remember that we were celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ instead of just opening presents.
Anyways, Kelsey had the best time ever opening all of her gifts.  Santa gave her a dollhouse for being so naughty the past few months......
Nixon had a good time watching his sister go crazy opening gifts.  He also got his first teddy bear named Dak.
Kelsey was pretty excited to give her Dad the gift she picked out.  It was a lighter in the form of a mini fishing pole (she didn't know it was a lighter).

Christmas Eve

We started the day off with donuts, cleaned up the house, and then went to Chili's for dinner.
Last year we also watched a Christmas movie with Kelsey on Christmas Eve, and we thought we would do it again this year.  We watched The Santa Clause, and she loved it!

December Randomness

December was spent getting ready for Christmas.  We we had Kelsey's birthday party, went to our church's Christmas party, went on a carriage ride, made a gingerbread house, cleaned the church, decorated our Christmas tree, made Christmas cookies, and spent lots of time shopping.

Carriage Ride

I LOVE Watters Creek at Christmas time.  It is so fun to ride around the shopping area in a carriage looking at all the lights.  Kelsey was not happy that we had to get off once our turn was up.  I guess we will have to keep up this tradition as long as we live in Texas!

Church Christmas Party

My friend Shayla was in charge of our Christmas party this year, and she did an amazing job.  Kelsey had a blast checking out all of the different Christmas rooms, and Brady and I enjoyed the Costa Vida for dinner.

Kelsey didn't want to go see Santa, but she did want a candy cane from his helper.  She ran up there and tried to get one, but the guy told her she needed to talk to Santa first.  Kelsey didn't really like that answer, so she just reached into the box and grabbed a candy cane and ran away.  I wish I would have videoed it....it was perfect!
