  1. I am beginning the quest with Arkngthamz and the Aetherium Forge. I've done this quest a few times. Are their any followers who have unique dialogue for these locations or quests? Mod followers included. Thanks! Lkt
  2. http://static2.nexusmods.com/110/mods/110/images/48313-1-1385830733.jpg Click the image above to visit the mod page! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT; The site cut off the last two letters of the title, and I can't edit it. Can a mod please change my title to this so it all fits? {REL}Aetherius; The many and diverse heavens beyond the void You really need to fix me not being able to edit my own thread title, rather then giving me the ability to delete comments on my mod page. Or at least restrict the number of characters in the title to the number of characters it will post. Thank you for your time. VVVVV-Actual mod description begins below!!-VVVVV --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Our world was born from magicka, the creative force that informs and sustains all life. The sources of magic are the many and diverse heavens beyond the void, collectively known as the Aetherius. Aetherius, ancestral seat of the Nine Divines and the other original spirits, is the plane of pure magicka. Whereas Oblivion may surround us every night, it is aetherial energy that infuses our daily existence, from highest to lowest, and gives all the races of men, mer, and beast common purpose. Its magic brings the rain to the fields, love to our hearths, and scientific principles to our technological industries. It gives us the very Sun itself. Finally, Aetherius is the home to the Aedra, those cornerstones of the Mundus whose aspects we see in temple, in lordship, and the high walk of heroes." - Pocket Guide to the Empire, 3rd Edition "The planets are the gods and the planes of the gods, which is the same thing. That they appear as spherical heavenly bodies is a visual phenomena caused by mortal mental stress. Since each plane(t) is an infinite mass of infinite size, as yet surrounded by the Void of Oblivion, the mortal eye registers them as bubbles within a space. Planets are magical and impossible." The plane of Aetherium is a strange and wondrous place. The lore, so it be called, is left open to interpretation, even those who stare up at the night sky each and every night, admit they do not really see what their eyes behold. For each and every being on Nirn the sky is said to appear slightly different, as it's actual appearance is far to difficult for the average mortal mind to understand. It is said the Dwemer in all their vast understanding, never once described seeing Massar and Secunda, one may simply brush this off as a simple disinterest in these dead plane(t)s. But another possible answer is, the Dwemer saw the sky more for what it is then the average mortal, and that Massar and Secunda are but what the average mind creates when staring up into the countless plane(t)s of Aetherius. But, the Dragonborn is not the average mind. You see, the blood of the god of Aetherius, Akatosh himself runs through your veins, and thus the illusion of the lesser mind is not placed upon you. So you, and you alone in this age can observe the plane(t)s of Aetherius in their true, indescribable majesty. Though the 8 Aedra are called the Gods, and that these 8 Gods make up the 8 Plane(t)s of the Gods, it is also said they are not the only beings in the Aetherial plane. They are many. They are diverse. The Aedra are what we call the 8 who selflessly created our world, but the Deadra are what we call the ones that selfishly meddle in our world. The Deadric planes are the Deadric gods and the planets of the gods, which is the same thing, just as they are the same as Aedra, just lesser. As lesser as one infinite thing can be from another. The Aedra and Deadra are not the only beings in the Aetherius, but the only ones that have an effect on the Mortal plane(t), in truth, there are countless diverse plane(t)s and gods, many of which keeps to themselves, and their own machinations. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation Download the file, and extract the "Data" folder from the "Core - Main Files" folder, and merge it with the "data" folder in your "Skyrim" folder (The one that contains SkyrimLauncher.exe) and make sure it overrights EVERY file it asks to overright! (they are all texture files) This mod will NOT work or look right without every single one of these files. Then, open the folder for every option you want or need to install and extract the "Data" folder from each one, one by one, and merge it with your "Data" folder in the same exact manner described above. Install "Low Res Galaxy DDS" if you want to save FPS(make sure to install AFTER the main file then say YES when it asks to overright!) install "Climates of Tamriel" folder if you use Climates of Tamriel, and install "Moon Size ESP" folder if you want to have larger moons like in the screenshots! HERE is a visual example of what your Data/Textures/Sky folder should look like, and how to make sure the mod is installed correctly! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Questions and Answers Q] What happened to my stars?/Why are my stars shining through my planets? A] This mod removes stars. If you try to install a star texture with this mod, the result will be very very glitchy and horrible looking, this is thanks to a limitation in skyrim's way of handling the sky, and there is nothing I can do about it without totally destroying every aspect of how this mod works. If you want a simple galaxy replacer with no planets and normal stars, go download one! ^_^ There are about 50 of them. Q] My ENB exploded when I installed this! A] ENBs do that. It's not my fault. They are very finicky and glitchy, I designed this mod to work with them if they are reasonably designed, but as some have INSANE amounts of bloom there is simply nothing I can do to make this mod work with all of them short of making 900 patches for every ENB on the nexus. Q] Will this work with.... ? A] Probably. This should work with anything that does not edit the night sky. This replaces EVERY texture in the night sky, and thus, you should not attempt to combined it with any mod that edits the NIGHT sky, or the sun texture. Q] How does it look with Climates of Tamriel? A] AMAZING. Because it is designed to be used with it, and in fact the sun texture is edited from it's sun texture (with permission of coarse) Make sure to install the CoT optional files, or your sun might randomly change colors on you! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suggested Mods This is the Spiritual Successor to my other mod More Alien Skyrim if you like this mod, give that mod a look! Please note, that these two mods are VERY incompatible with one another! This mod is designed to work with Climates of Tamriel and will look much better with it. It does not at all require it to work though, it just looks better then vanilla. Enhanced Lights and FX also looks great with this mod. I suggest the SweetFX mod Ultimate Lighting Overhaul and my preset for it Dramatic Cinematic. Combine this with ELFX and COT to get the exact look of my screenshots. Random Mod Title is another of my mods that allows you to play as Deadmau5 in skyrim. It has NOTHING to do with this mod, but what harm does a little self promotion on my own mod page do?
  3. Hey there. I'm looking to find the texture/color of the aetherial crown's stone, but I can't seem to find it. I try loading the Skyrim texture DDS, but the crown doesn't seem to be included. Does anyone know what texture the stone pulls from or where I can find it? Thanks! Hope this is in the right section, since it's more of a "where to find" rather than a mod.
  4. Permission is granted until further notice. All the Aetherium items below are made in the Aetherium Forge The items that you can create from Aetherium have great abilities but for instance the Aetherium Crown grants 2 Stones but has no armour rating. So here is my idea on how to find more Aetherium and smith the new items: Finding More Aetherium: In some Dwarven Structure you can find shards of Aetherium. Typed below are the places you can find it: 1. Nchuand-Zel (2) 2. Blackreach (5) 3. Tolvalds Cave (1) 4. Mzulft (2) 5. Reachwind Eyrie (1) 6. Tower of Mzark (2) Now all the items (armour, weapons, jewellery, upgrades): 1. Aetherium Mask (1 Aetherium Crown, 2 Aetherium Shards, 4 Dragon Bones, 4 Solid Dwemer Metal) Armour rating: 58 (upgradable) Power: Equips the last stone you had as well ash the present one 2. Aetherium Ring/Necklace (1 Aetherium Shard, 1 Solid Dwemer Metal) Power: Increase of all Dwarven smithing ratings by 3 points 3. Aetherium Bow (4 Aetherium Shards, 2 Solid Dwemer Metal) Attack Damage: 70 (upgradable Power: Electrifies target for 1 minute (This mod is merged with Scoped Bows and this one also has a Scope: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50528/) Thats it! Feel free to comment, criticise or add suggestions! Please make this mod since it seems simple enough!
  5. So to start off the quest I decided to head out to the Mzulft Storeroom and grab the Aetherium shard there first. Nothing happened after picking up the piece, so I head back outside and head to the main ruin where the corpse with the book was supposed to be. No corpse, no book, but the blood splatter was still there. I ignored it and continued to Deep Folk Crossing and picked up the next piece and then finally made my way to Arkngthamz. After heading inside I looted Katria's corpse, and no journal, and after speaking with her the quest still has not started. So I'd like to ask if anyone has a clue as to what is causing this. I've never had any issue with this quest starting before. And yes I've done this quest in this order before. The only other quests I've done were I'll Met By Moonlight, March of the Dead, and The Black Star in this order.
  6. I've completed, "lost to the ages" after having 30 aetherium ore in my inventory... where do I smelt the ore? The forge doesn't have any option for it.
  7. So, where to begin with. In Oblivion we have a Quest where a man needs an Artifact to open portals between planes, the Quest is separated in two Quests, being the "Blood of the Daera" and "Blood of the Divines". On this quest we need an item with the blood and energy of a Daedra and Divine being to open up the portal between planes. We use the Armor of Talos as the Divine item, and I started to think: "Maybe the portal is oppened between planes that are rulled by Daedric Princes. Where would Mehrunes Daegon get the Blood of a Divine in first place? I think both items belong to Daedras, one sacrificing the energy for the portal to be oppened, and the other being the way point to the plane that this Daedra resides. So this makes Talos a Daedra that Resides in Nirn, so the portal would open on Cyrodill." This makes even more sense by looking how the elves hate on Talos, as they hate the Daedra and Lorkhan himself. Talos was an "agent" who cause change on Tamriel, every time he faced a Challenge during the conquest of Tamriel, he would pull something from his pocket to bend the "universe" in order for him to succeed. He cause much change on Tamriel in order to Rule Supreme, and after he died, he was worshiped as a god, just like cultists do to other Daedra, but Talos made the empire, so people won't see him as a treat. Another point is that not all Daedra are Evil, some are even good but rather harsh. Take a look on Meridia for instance. Jyggalag was a Daedra who was balance itself. Talos maybe was a Daedra who was justice, he was a kind emperor yet he punished many, killed many and conquered other by force. Tell me what you think about this teory, and please don't go around insulting each other because of Stormcloaks and Imperials. I'll make another Topic about the Civil War and my Teory later.
  8. I'm in Arkngthamz, the one with the ghost girl (Katria). I successfully completed the tonal lock puzzle, and that centurion came out after collecting the aetherium shard. This would be no big deal, except it can't be attacked. I tried loading a save before getting into the cavern. I tried exiting the game. I tried exiting the game and loading a save before entering the cavern. Nothing works. Is there any fix for this, or should I just say to hell with the centurion and run for the exit?
  9. Here's my thought process... After doing the full quest "Lost to the Ages" it allow for the inside of the Ruins to be converted/upgraded into a Player Home. The area is a large enough space to add just about anything. After the quest is over the whole place is useless as they never added anymore Aetherium to the game. So I believe it would make a great area to overhaul into a more useful Player home. Areas/Uses to add Memorial to KatriaEnchanting areaAlchemy labStoreroomNormal forging added to the Aetherium forgeSleeping quartersGeneral clean up of the areaGeneral additions of household thingsExtra Additions upgrade scrip like in mod "Breezehome Fully Upgradable"Maybe something like this exist already?
  10. Some modders like to insert pop culture references into games as jokes, but this doesn't have a lot of appeal to more immersive gamers. I have an idea for a mod that may bridge the gap: A Stargate in Blackreach Since the TV show Stargate(and its spinoffs) is all about portals to other worlds that were built by an ancient civilization, it's easy to push its mythos further back, forward, or out of the box. And since some fan theories point to the Elder Scrolls being a post-post-apocalyptic Earth future(even though it's medieval and/or otherworldly fantasy) it fits whatever way you look at it. Blackreach is an ancient, forgotten city built by the Dwemer, who mysteriously disappeared(just like the Alterrans, most of whom ascended) I think it would be really cool to find a Dwarven Stargate in Blackreach. To keep things at least semi-lore-friendly, the ring itself would be made of Aetherium, and the mechanisms would be made of Dwarven Metal, Ebony, Quicksilver, and Gold. The symbols and constellations could easily be taken from Elder Scrolls lore. But wait; this wouldn't just be an homage for homage's sake. I have a use for this Stargate. Instead of a Dial Home Device like from the TV Show, there would be a Black Book Pedestal in front. Placing a Black Book on the Pedestal would activate the Stargate; the ring would rotate, the chevrons would lock, and a wormhole would open, all that jazz. Stepping through the event horizon would take you to Apocrypha - without having to go to Solstheim. If you want to really make it useful, you could add a special White Book that takes you to Sovngarde. And a Grey Book that takes you to the Soul Cairn. There should also be a special shelf for storing all these books; after all, who wants to carry around all those Black Books, anyway? I suppose other elements could be added for giggles; smashed up qartushes on the walls, a Jaffa staff(unique look, Fireball enchantment), a unique Tattered Green Tunic with a Stargate Command emblem on one shoulder... have fun, but please try not to go too overboard. Most of this should look like the Dwemer built it. At least, to someone who's never seen Stargate.
  11. Hello :) I've seen a few mods that add aetherium ore before, but I have a slightly different mod idea. In Blackreach there are aetherium ore veins, and someone can make a mod so we can mine that aetherium. But I think that it would be too easy if players could just mine it with iron pickaxe, so... Can someone make a mod that allows you to mine aetherium ore veins in Blackreach with a new pickaxe added by this mod? I think it could be called Ancient Dwemer Pickaxe, and located somewhere in Blackreach.
