As the title suggest I cannot move the player if I'm blocking with a weapon or shield. Searched for weeks and tried many different changes. To make solving the problem easy I turned off ALL mods expect one which is what allows for over 60 fps and yet still can't walk and block. tried other mods that allow you to go over 60 fps....problem still remains. if I turn the fps down to 60 in game I can walk and block...still in game I'll bump up fps to 70, 80, 90 fps and cannot block and walk? I'm having trouble pinpointing the issue as it is with blocking no matter if it is with a shield, great sword etc. This problem only comes up when playing over 60 fps Is there a default/vanilla animation that only works at 60 fps? Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

Someone should really try to come up with new Dual-wielding block mod, the current ones are old and seem abandoned. There seems to be some issues with some people using these mods but for some work fine.. And the Badass-dualwielding mod only allows it to be so that you draw your weapons on the back, which for some (atleast me) ain't ok cause I use all kinds of stuff in my back: backpacks, cloaks etc.. So it just looks odd that I would Draw a sword there also.. So I hope for someone to take on this issue :thumbsup:

Anyone ever thought of making it possible for your character to block front-incoming spells with your sword like a Jedi would block a Force Lightning attack? I sure have! I think that would be awesome to be able to do :) Hit me up if you can do it

Hello Nexus Community, Firstly, I am new to modding, and papyrus. I am trying to create a mod for a weapon when when you block the weapon casts the sparks spell. This was inspired by the spellbreaker shield effect but just on a weapon, and an aimed effect rather than it casting on yourself as the spellbreaker ward effect does. I tried to use the creation kit GUI to do this but I got an Enchanment error. Is there any other way to accomplish this? Thank you & best regards. -jr seriel

I've been examining the Staves in CK, and I noticed that the staff can only either be concentration or fire and forget. Not both. I wan envisioning a similar mechanic to swords; click attack, and the staff shoots a single shot spell. Hold attack, and it does a concentration spell. How would I accomplish this, if it is in any way possible? Also, I'm hoping to add a blocking animation to the staves, but with a mage armor effect included. Would that be possible? If so, how might I do it?

I've encountered in my new playthrough the biggest issue with using Light Armor: All the good shields are Heavy. The thought came to mind that, since Shields all naturally fall under two categories in Skill - Heavy/Light and Block - maybe it would make sense for a mod to unify the shield types into one seperate thing? So, instead of a shield being marked as Heavy or Light, it's just a shield. Like. Shield. It doesn't need clarification between Heavy and Light. And I feel like this could probably be done through scripts so individual items don't need to be modified. What I'm asking for, TL;DR, is a mod that marks all items flagged as 'Shield' as the armor class 'Shield' so it does nothing to skills and stuff. Pretty please. Pretty pretty please.

hi there :smile: im looking for a mod that stops u taking damage when u block with a melee as i think its stupid to have damage when u block if u have.. a base ball bat and block something in real life u would not take damage :tongue: so if anyone knows of a mod or could make one ild love to know about it :smile: iv all ways wanted to try melee class in fallout 4 but i could never get over geting killed even if i got the block in lol i find it stupid and takes me out of the immersion :sad:

I mostly enjoy everything in this game, but there is one thing I despise with a passion; The fact that a person equipped only with their bare fists, can block your melee attacks. Doesn't matter if it's a sledgehammer that could smash their head apart, or a ripper that should be able to cut right through their wrists, an unarmed man can continuously block every melee attack thrown at them, making melee combat against said UNARMED MAN nigh impossible without the use of VATS. So, somebody could either make or link me to a mod that either: Removes the ability for both players and npcs to block without a melee weapon,Or makes it to where said blocking does not negate any damageThat would be excellent.

EDIT: Nevermind. I guess there's a perk for that, I didn't realize, haha Funny how you have to get all these perks just to make your character normal hehe, anyway thanks everyone! Mods you can probably delete this post now hehe <3

Hey everyone, my name is Mace and I have been hanging around the nexus community for acouple years on and off and just recently returned to skyrim nexus checking out all the new ENB graphics adjustments and started playing again. This time through I thought I'd try spit out some more ideas for mod creators out there who are up to the challenges. Personally I've never done any modmaking (quite frankly sometimes I struggle just to get the ones you guys put all the hard effort and time into, working) but definitely not short on ideas. This particular request I found inspired from MassEffect3's multiplayer class the N7 paladin. I thought it would be convenient for mages to not have to compromise defensive benefits when playing a spellsword, then I got the idea to try something more like a spellshield. I came across a mod to change all shields to dispel magic like spellbreaker, via a perk, and another to treat wards similar to shields, in as far as being able to block arrows, and slightly increase defenses thru the shield wall perk. But I notice the time changing between using a shield and magic, is somewhat sloppy and delayed. I want to see a full ward spell that is cast and treated like a shield equipped, by holding up the ward you are able to cast with your other hand as per usual. But it would be even better if wards could be used to actually block melee attacks rather than just add to defense, and bash accordingly, while held up. Im not sure if this is even possible, but I thought the idea was interesting, carrying that shield all the time as a mage could be rather burdening, would be more intense to be able to wield their own magic accordingly. I would really like to see a mod which allows to block any arrow which comes from direction you're facing. Something simmilar to deflect arrows perk, but 100% effective. This would allow me to boost archer's damage, so they aren't just a nuissance but a threat, while being able to play out fights perfectly without taking damage. Also i'm aiming to expand it to weapons and possibly magical wards. As for now deflect arrows perk doesn't allow to block every arrow and works only with the shields. If my request for mod can't be fulfilled i only ask for the huge invisible shield model, so i can try and find my own way arround. My own shameful attempts you don't have to read about (this is my first post and i have no idea how to use that spoiler thingy): I have no modding or scripting experience, but what i was trying to do on my own was making human-sized invisible shield using some different body slot. I was only able to change it's body slot which when equiped with only sword in right hand and nothing else in left hand allowed to deflect arrows hitting shield model. The problem is i have no idea how to either enlarge the shield's model or remove textures from it. If i can manage that i'm also planning to make it summonable , so it isn't equipment dependant, but the above needs to be done first (and i may lack skill to do it anyway). Thanks in advance.

Hey Guys!I'm new in your awesome community, bringing here my very first (and have no clue how real is this) suggestion:While using melee weapons Instead of that parry move on right click, I wish I can block melee attacks so long as I want to, just like it was in TES games. Maybe with a little stamina/life drain, or even without it, that's also would be nice. Is that possible to tweak this somehow? Also, I'd like to see all melee animations a little bit quicker or customizable (for slow and medium weps especially), but this is optional.Cheers.

This is my first post ever on this forum so I apologize if I break any unwritten rules and such. I love the game on console and I am looking forward to purchasing it on PC in a few weeks, I was wondering if it is at all possible for someone to make mods (just some ideas I have): 1. Blocking!!!!! - This is the biggest gripe I have with the game...there is no blocking with melee weapons like the NPCs do. I would love the person forever if they could make a mod that allowed you do block with a melee weapon. You can't really block well unless you do it as a counter (block right when they hit) because they kick you and it knocks you back and then they can hit you. How did Techland think this was a good idea??? You block with weapons because it is quick and an easy transition to a hit...not lug out this huge shield. 2. Zombie Stumble - This is defiantly the most annoying aspect of the game. Yes I understand that zombies stumble when you hit them and their momentum takes them when they are moving towards you quickly BUT even if I hit them when they are at a standstill, they stumble into me causing instant damage or a bite scene. 3.. Tone down the dodging and blocking and counter attacks of the NPCs - I feel that when you are in a melee fight with human NPCs they block and dodge 90% of what you do (wouldn't be so bad if we could block like they can.) Another thing that is stupid is that if you hit them and they counter attack, you can't stop it with a kick or anything. The NPC fighting is horriable.

Is there a way to modify the damage reduction when blocking, to 100% damage reduction? I've tried messing with the Game Settings up on the Gameplay tab, changing "fBlockMax" from 0.7 to 1.0 (70%-100%), even changing "fBlockSkillBase" from 1.0 to 100.0 in order to ensure my blocking was at maximum capabilities. Nothing seems to work. I just find it VERY stupid to be able to die after blocking a series of attacks :dry:, I mean really :down: NO, just NO :facepalm: :wallbash: Please help, there must be a way to make this happen Any help, very much appreciated.

Hey, im making a new land mod and im having some issues with the wildlife. My land is all an island, and so it is fully surrounded by water. The problem im having is that the animals keep running off into the water, regardless of if I pursue them or not. I also have a graveyard/crypt type area, and it looks a bit stupid if there are loads of deer in there, as its supposed to be evil. Im asking if anyone knows a way in order to make a sort of invisible barrier so deers, rabbits and foxes etc cannot run into there. Is there some kind of marker, or is there no way to do it? Im open to all help that you give me, as this can get quite annoying Thanks Will :)

In my Skyrim game, I am playing a character that uses sword and shield. I'm frustrated however because when I block whilst moving in third person (I play in third person a lot), my dude is just walking with his arms down which just looks plain silly. I have had this issue even before I began modding my game, but I will include a list of my mods that alter in game animations below. If anyone knows of a fix for this I'd be very grateful considering it's very immersion breaking to be walking at an enemy who's swinging his sword at me with both arms down. Mod list: 3rd Person Dual Wield Animation Fix, Fores New Idles in Skyrim: FNIS, The Dance of Death- A killmove Mod, XP32 Maximum Skeleton, YY Anim Replacer- Mystic Knight, Immersive Animations, dual sheath redux, Equipping overhaul Armed to the teeth.

Is there a mod where you can block magic? That way there is actually a way to avoid dragon breath and other magic stuff like that which would add SO MUCH to the value of the combat mechanics. I'm tired of having my health drained and sitting there because there's no way to avoid s#*! like that.

Just a thought that whilst blocking with a 2 handed weapon, what if your character also put up a ward at the same time? Maybe have it as a "power" such as "Blocking-Lesser" or "Blocking-steadfast". That way you can choose whether is on or not.

As the title infers, I would like a range of shield enchantments added that would trigger a spell effect whilst blocking, much like spellbreaker. These Are Not Intended To Be Super Balanced, and I would appreciate Leveled List Integration. XboxOne Compatible Please The spell effects I would like to see are: -All Flesh Spells, minus Dragonhide -All Cloak Spells, but slightly downgraded damage -Healing, %Based, so like 5% heal/s base, or 10% heal/s with max enchant -All Wards -AOE Fear Chance -Become Ethereal Additional Features (Not Required/Needed) -Possible Ordinator Perk Overhaul Compatible Enchant/Spells -On ÃâTimed BlockÃâ Release AOE Damage Of Whatever Type Enchanted With (Fire,Shock,Frost,Poison,Disease,Magic,PhysicalBleed) -ÃâBlock RunnerÃâ Increase Sprint Speed/Movement Whilst Blocking. -Bash Damage Enchants/Spells Of Each Element

Hey all! Not quite sure how this happened, the blocking animation was working perfectly fine until starting up Skyrim today. The two issues I'm having are not being able to move while blocking, and arm/shield twisting when holding the block animation. Issue one was fixed after simply ticking the "SKELETON arm fix" under FNIS. Although after scouring the internet for anything similar to issue two I couldn't find a thing. The only mods I have installed that actually affect animations/skeletons are "XP32 Maximum Skeleton" and FNIS which are only used for poses. Everything else is simply armours/textures etc. Screen of twisted arm/shield / Alt Screen of twisted arm/shield Screen of how animation should be (Captured at the start of a Shield Bash animation) Literally a screenshot I took days before this problem Any help on this would be awesome since this is weirdly game breaking when it comes to the melee combat, since it happens with all NPCs too. Walking in inn blocked by invisible object [fixed]

I have been blocked sometimes from walking freely around the inn and today I had a breakthrough in understanding what is going wrong. When testing another mod I used Aura Whisper inside the Bannered Mare and saw a mysterious object the shape of a large dog. It also happens in the Windpeak Inn, but I travelled to most other inns and it was only those two. When I push into the object with the sprint button it turns around and moves out of the way as though it is an NPC. I cannot click it in console. I checked in SSEEdit all the mods that edit the inn and there was nothing that showed to me as unusual. By disabling and re-enabling mods I found that the culprit is NPC Appearances Merged.esp from EasyNPC. Because it is a merged patch it is hard to test on a new game, because it could be something that has gone into it I haven't identified. It has no cell records in the plugin. Is there a way to identify the source of the object in-game where I can see it with Aura Whisper? Update: I installed NPC Scanner https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/56442 which will be good, but now he isn't showing any more. Update 2: Using NPC Scanner I disabled every visible NPC and was left only with the invisible one, it turns out it was Populated Lands Roads Paths.esp all ssssMerchant 'Traveler Merchant'. Spawning them showed several invisible NPCs only seen through Aura Whisper.-

Hi, so i'm trying to make custom sound for a guts's dragonslayer sword in the "DM BDOR Berserk by Team TAL" everyting so far is doing great expect the blocking sound (the one made when you are blocking a hit) I'm not sure how to do it but i got my little idea. I think I need to change how every material respond to the sword and not how the sword respond, that said, its very long to make and a pain in the ass. So i'm asking if i'm right or if there is another solution like a script for the sword basically doing "when you get hit you use those sound" don't know if its possible. Thanks for the help.

LE Shields block arrows, period, and 99% of damage

Hello, could someone please make a mod that makes it so that shields block arrows? yeah i know theres a perk that does that but...smh meh. if you put a hunk of wood and/or steel between you and an incoming arrow, 99.99% of the time the arrow is going to hit that shield and its going to stop that arrow. you don't need some perk to make it so a shields does what they were made to do. I hate it how when you put up your shield against an archer and the arrow passes through it and hits you all because you don't have this dumb perk. and even with the perk the arrow still does damage. whitch is completely stupid. if you block with a shield the arrow should hit the shield and get stuck in the shield and do literally NO damage to you. that includes melee hits as well for the most part melee attacks that get blocked should do like one or two damage, absolutely piss all if you count in natural healing witch would negate the one or two damage. To balance this i suggest damageable shields that if it absorbs enough damage it would break apart gradually providing less and less protection until it just falls apart. and leaves you without a shield. I can take or leave these ideas and in regards to magic spells it should really depend in the spell being flung at you. but for the most part it should (again depending on the spell) do at the very least 25% less damage. projectile spells like fire bolt or ice spike should hit the shield and cause a little damage, ice spike a tiny bit more then fire bolt because it pierces the shield some what more so if its an ice spear. Spells like Flames and frostbite are basically like flame throwers, you can't block that, period, so full damage. sparks if you have a shield with a lot of metal on it witch would be pretty much all of them, won't do anything against electrical spells regardless of skill. Spells like fire ball or other offensive spells with a small blast radius would if anything just destroy your shield with a few good hits along with 10% less damage to you. i mean it should help but i would put a sword in whatevers firing these fireballs at you right quick if you don't want to turn into a crispy stick man. illusion spells no effect. master spells No effect what so ever. etc. etc. you must know what i'm on about with this by now so i won't bore you with any more details unless asked. -
Has anyone ever noticed the hand arrangement when blocking with a 2 handed war hammer or battle axe? It looks wrong and out of place, in both 1st and 3rd person. It's mostly the left hand that has the issue. The hand alignment isn't horrifically bad, but it's enough for me to discontinue the use of war hammers and battle axes. Not sure if there is a mod to fix this as I haven't found any, and I am aware that others have the same issue. I've attached a screenshot holding a dwarven war hammer. Any help would be appreciated Thanks
