  1. When I enter Data Files and check a mod (tick the box to enable it), and then exit; it randomly "unchecks" itself. This doesn't happen every time though, sometimes I check it and it stays that way. Then I try to check more mods, exit, and everything is unchecks. Sometimes some mods are unchecked and some are. I've tried some solutions I found through google, nothing worked. I tried: Going to SkyrimPrefs.ini and making sure bEnableFileSelection=1 (it already was) Disabling UAC Going to plugins.txt and adding the mods manually (the same thing happened, sometimes they uncheck, sometimes they don't =/. Strange because it's just a text document) Disabling "read only" to the 3 skyrim folders (Windows doesn't even let me disable read only for folders for some reason, tried googling this too, no help) Using a mod manager: I used NMM and it worked fine, until I exited and reopened it, when all mods were removed from the "plugin" list. Any tips on what to do? EDIT: Solved it, I had an old version of NMM.
  2. I also noticed this problem when manually downloading the free dlc for Morrowind. It may be good to note that the one dlc that did work had a data folder which I merged into the pre-existing data folder. I tried reinstalling Skyrim, which worked for someone else, but the problem still persists. I really want to download Interesting NPCs, as well as a patcher for the brawl bugs patch (because brawls STILL wont work probably thanks to SPERG). If anyone can help with this, it would really be appreciated.
  3. Hi all, I seem to have encountered a problem with my copy of Skyrim. When I loaded up the game I noticed a box popped up that said some features may be missing, the message you get when you take out a mod. I didn't make any changes to my mods so I didn't pay it any mind. When it loaded up, none of my mods had loaded at all. To make sure they were checked, I tried running the normal launcher (I had launched via Script Extender previously), and not only was my "Data Files" option greyed out, but the "Options" one as well. My first thought was that my ini's were set to read-only, but they both (/my games AND installation directory) weren't set for read-only. I checked the SkyrimPrefs and both of them had the data selection line under Launcher set to 1, rather than 0, I added ".ini" to the end of both file names, I moved the position of not only that line under Launcher but the whole Launcher section around in numerous places in the file, so I have no idea what's causing this. The only thing I could think of is that I recently moved over all my games' program files to another hard drive, but all my other games work fine, with their respective mods as well. Any advice? http://i.imgur.com/DZbjEHf.png?1
  4. I bought the Game of the Year Edition of Oblivion on Steam a few months ago and played it vanilla for quite some time, and I've just tried to get mods working on it using a combination of NMM and manual installs. Though it doesn't matter how I install them or which mod I try, they don't show up in the data files of the launcher, or ingame. So far I've tried redownloading the game off of steam, updating NMM, and switching between different mods to see if it's a universal problem or a mod-specific one (it seems to be a problem with all mods). I'm running on Windows 8.1 pro x64. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  5. I can't locate the data files for FO4 anywhere on my C: drive. Ran a file search, and got nothing....I would like to install some mods, but can't without access to the data files.... Any ideas on where these files might be located?
  6. Hi, first ever post on Nexus forums, in my first ever topic on the Nexus forums. Heh. Anyways, I recently got the Elder Scrolls anthology for Christmas I had already had Skyrim so I'm kinda familiar with it, and I learnt that Morrowind launcher had a function in the Data files section where you could double click a save and it would check all the files used on that save to be loaded, and I'm wondering if anyone knows about this function in the later games, Especially Skyrim, is it disabled do you need to modify the launcher and how to go about doing this. Thank you. Aarkkun
  7. Please help i can't activate mods. i cant click data files on launcher but i fix it adding like that type bEnableFileSelection=1 under [launcher] in SkyrimPrefs.ini in Documents. But i still have a problem i selected data of mods in data files in launcher but in game isn't any mods PLEASE HELP!!! THANKS FOR ANSWERS
  8. I am going to make this as plain and bland as possible. I downloaded oblivion mod manager the other day because I thought that it would help with the stutter of oblivion but not matter what nothing helped. so I said f*#@ this, lets play Skyrim because I haven't had a single problem with my mods or my load order so i check my data files on my launcher and theyre all gone. every single one including the main(even though the game still works just no mods what so ever) baffled i go to my data file and well what do ya know oblivion mod manager reads all bsa files great... so the option comes up to change what loads them I clicked Skyrim launcher like an idiot and now I have no mods. what would i run my bsa files off of And how would i change it so it uses whatever runs it. Not the greatest grammar I understand but I need help too.
  9. I've just downloaded and installed a group of Skyrim mods. I'm familiar with Bethesda's modding procedure, putting files in the Data folder. I've done it before with Fallout 3, Morrowind and New Vegas. But they're not showing up on the Skyrim Launcher's mod-enabling window. I'm using Windows 7 64bit, if that helps. Screen shots below. (Screenshots) First image: Screen shot of my data files folder. Second Image: Screen shot of skyrim's window to enable mods. See the difference? http://imgur.com/a/rZJ3R
  10. I cannot seem to get any mods to work in my game. They do not appear in Data Files in the launcher, and nothing appears in game. Firstly, I want to say that I have been looking for a solution to this for several days, and have found nothing helpful. My game and all of my mods worked the last time I played two weeks ago. I do not have any new mods since that time, and all of my mods are up to date. I know that it is not mod incompatibility because I cannot even get one mod, to work without any others installed. I have done nearly everything I could find as a suggestion to similar problems, but nothing is working. Secondly, I have done all of these things, and I know that they are not the problem: My skyrimprefs.ini is edited, I am 100% certain of this, it is the right one. The data files section is not grayed out, but only my dlc appears in it. I have checked that the mods are installed via NMM and have tried deactivating and reactivating them, reinstalling them, and checking/unchecking the boxes. Looking in my Skyrim\Data folder, I can see that the mods and the .esp files are in the right folder, they just won't register with the game. They appear in NMM in the plugins folder when installed and the boxes are checked. Everything is as it should be until I launch the game. I have the newest versions of Skyrim and NMM. I am normally pretty good at figuring this sort of thing out. I have been playing Skyrim (and other games) with mods for a very long time, but this one has stumped me. The only thing I can think of that I haven't done is reinstalling Skyrim itself, but I don't have my installation disks anymore, so I would have to repurchase the game in order to reinstall. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  11. The Game appears to run just fine. I took a look in the Data Files out of curiosity when I noticed that the "Oblivion esm" master file is unchecked, while all the DLC is checked. Should I ignore this? or check it?
  12. So last night I decided to download the "Get Up Stand Up Faster" mod, downloaded it through NMM, and it appeared normally on the mods tab on NMM. I activated it, and it said that it was successfully activated. I check the plugins tab so I can modify the load order, and it's not there. I tried redownloading a couple of times, even trying a manual download. Same thing every time. Wouldn't appear on data files either. Then I try "Undeath", and the NMM download works fine. It appears everywhere it should. Then this morning, I try "Quality World Maps", and the same problem happens as before. However, this time I go on the game to see if it somehow is working, and it's working fine. Now, I would be fine with not being able to see the mods on data files or the plugins tab if I didn't want to be able to modify their load order. I don't have any problems with the order right now, but I'd prefer to avoid future ones.

  14. All right, so I did some searching, and I didn't find a thread that has this exact problem, (not to say that there isn't one.) So I have a few Skyrim mods from the Steam Workshop, all of which work perfectly, but my most recent one, this one from Nexus, downloaded through the Nexus Mod Manager, is activated, has the plugin checked in NMM and the Skyrim launcher Data Files both, and it still won't kick in in game. It's an immersion mod, if that helps. My game files are under C:\Games, not in Program Files, and, if online tutorials are to be believed, it's not a problem in the SkyrimPrefs. Any assistance would be appreciated.
  15. Like the title said. Well, I updated my Windows 7 from 32bit to 64bit. The problem is i want to know whether my mods will still work when I play the game or no? Because I think the Windows doesn't detect all of my games that i installed before I updated it. I installed Nexus Mod Manager and the mod manager doesn't detect any mods (I scanned the game directory) but when I use the game launcher and go to data files, I can see all the .esp files and other stuffs. So, like I asked, will the mods still work even though I upgraded my OS and the Nexus Mod Manager doesn't detect mods that I've installed before I upgraded my Windows? Sorry if you don't get my question or whatever, my english isn't very good.

  17. Hello, I have a torrented version of Skyrim that is v 1.1.21.0. I downloaded a mod called Caranthir Tower, manually downloaded it, enabled it in the data files, and it doesn't even show up in the game. I downloaded another mod, Nirn Falls manor, that was only an esp. and enabled it, and the game crashes right after the bethesda logo. I'm not sure exactly what is causing this but it would be helpful to know the solution.
  18. This is NOT the issue where the "Data Files" is greyed. I have attempted to download many mods, from facial features to weapon packs, and only a very small percentage of them work. The only way I can get mods for the most part is by using Steam, but most of the mods on Steam Workshop aren't that good compared to the ones here, including the one that I need. Using NMM I have installed them and they do not appear in the Plugins folder, nor in the Data Files when I start up the game. When I try manually installing it, even when it is moved to the Data folder in the Steam folder, it does not appear in the Data Files. I'd really appreciate some help with this, thanks!
  19. Hello, I am totally lost. I do have the Bethesda Launcher, as well as Morrowind. But now that I want to install mods, I notice something awful : I have no documents nor data files of them on my PC. Only the icons to access them. I can't access to their folders, add or remove data etc Is that normal ?!
