  1. so i moved my dlcs and fallout.esm on accident where do i place them? The masters for some plugins (esp/esl/esm) are not enabled. 2. So I installed this game about a month ago and found it odd that it wouldn't permit using cheats. Long story short I ended up installing mods so I could carry more which came in handy while hunting (which worked). I also used the easy lockipicking cheat mod and the cheat mod. I've been in holidays for 2 weeks now and now I'm back and tried to start the game, I clicked continue and it stopped loading after a few seconds. It froze and shut the game down. Does anyone know the solution to my problem? I tried moving the mods into the data folder instead of the mod folder, the game started but the mods weren't working. For the easy lockpicking mod it says requires v1.6.2 when I checked my game I saw I'm using v1.6 but Steam doesn't show me any update options... So what should I do? If I use the older version of the mod it doesn't freeze nor does it work.
  3. I'm sorry for any mistake, I'm using google translator. I can not carry any preset in my skyrim. I have RaceMenu and ShowRaceMenu installed. When I enter the game and go to the Presets part, the menu looks in the folder Skyrim \ Data \ SKSE \ Plugins \ CharGen \ Presets After you install and reinstall the showracemenu, this folder still does not appear for min. In my case it only appears C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Skyrim \ Data \ SKSE \ Plugins I do not have the CharGen \ Presets folder I can not install the presets because of this. When I try to install the Presets using Vortex, it applies to the Skyrim \ Data \ CalienteTools \ BodySlide \ SliderPresets But it does not appear in the game. I already tried to create the CharGen and Presets folder myself to see if it worked but it did not work. I'm sorry for any mistake, I'm using google translator. Page loaded in: 1.027 seconds
  4. Hi Frosty Mod Manager can't create ModData folder in game folder despite running as administrator. It gives the error message "One ore more symbolic links could not be created, please restart tool as Administrator." (nice typo BTW). I tried multiple things and nothing is working. Creating folder on my own works somehow but the game is not launching, only Origin.
  5. A noob question following gophers tutorial on installing SKSE, I accidentally added the skyrim data folder to the SKSE.zip archive, as I had the skyrim folder and SKSE folder open in same window. All I did was accidentally use the 'Add to Archive' tool on the skyrim data folder. I feel really dumb for asking but, has any damage been done? Or has this had no effect on my game? Thanks
  6. As of recently, I've noticed none of my mods were working due to an update in NMM. I tried to find a way to work around this problem, without manually putting the mods in, nor settling for Bethesda's alternative. However, I haven't made any real progress. The one thing I notice that is very strange is that, upon checking the local files through the Steam library, my Mods folder was empty. Everything is showing up on NMM, and the plugins are active, but it won't register regardless of starting the game, verifying the integrity of the game cache, and reinstalling each mod. I'm by no means skilled with mods, and my computer skills are moderate at best. Am I missing something obvious, or have I missed another avenue to work with? If you need any additional information regarding the problem, feel free to ask.
  7. Hey Lads, At first I want to excuse myself for asking such a foolish question, but I've searched through the Fallout 4 folder for hours now and can't find the textures for the "suspenders and slacks" outfit. I want to edit it, because I like the style, but want to tweak it a bit to my liking. If you wander what outfit I'm talking about: http://fallout4.wiki.fextralife.com/file/Fallout-4/suspenders_and_slacks_ZH.jpg It is this one. Supposedly worn by triggermen. The items ID is 000fc102 if that helps anyone. I just need the .dds file name, or the folders name it is located in... anything. Thanks in advance for your time. Greetings, Nacho.
  8. So i have 2 laptops, the other one is a toshiba has more 4GB RAM and 2GB VRAM so i get less stutters/lag spikes, i personally prefer it but it is being repaired right now, gets average 30 fps on GMOD. and 15 FPS in skyrim outdoors medium setting, max resolution and 30FPS+ interiors really less stuttering. This one im currently is a VAIO has a faster processor but only has 2GB RAM and 700 VRAM. I expected it to perform better but looks like skyrim is really RAM/VRAM hungry. i cant stand these stutters. VAIO performs alot better in gmod with NPC battles maintaining 100+ FPS on most maps, but skyrim runs like sht on full resolution average like 10+FPS and shtty stuttering, On 640x480 it maintains 30-50+FPS on most areas but still stutters Alot. my VAIO is running a windows 7 32bit, and my toshiba WAS running windows 8.1 64bit when i installed skyrim, but i decided to downgrade it to windows 7, im not sure if its 32bit or 64bit. I really dont want to download my mods one by one again.. and my skyrim on VAIO is much more stable running only 100+ mods while my toshiba is running 200+ So my question is can i simply clean up or replace my data folder on toshiba and just move all my data files from my VAIO? they are both running the latest version with all DLCs, and SKSE.
  9. I've been looking around for a while now and can't seem to find someone with this exact experience. I recently upgraded to an SSD for my boot drive and have a 1TB HDD as storage. I installed Skyrim on my SSD along with NMM. I originally had the Nexus mods folder in it's default location on my main drive, but after it hit about 30GB I wanted to move it. I copied the folder to a safe place on my storage drive, and then pointed NMM to the folder in the settings. Now all of the mods in the mods list are greyed out like they aren't installed, but yet the game runs fine. Is there a way to fix this? I didn't want to have to go through the list and reinstall, as they are already installed and I didn't want to cause an issue there. I finally got my game the way I like it and what runs best on my rig, so I don't want to have to reinstall everything from scratch. Any ideas?
  10. PLEASE HELP I've been working on this all day... I had to reinstall Skyrim, NMM, and SKSE because something messed them up (probably me, ultimately) and I got everything working again except for the fact that I cannot find where the game is currently storing save files. Otherwise, the game runs just fine. I just want to figure out to where I should move my old save files so that Skyrim can find them. I saved my old saves in my dropbox so that I could put them back into the "Saves" file. However, my newly installed Skyrim (Documents/My Games/Skyrim) folder had no saves file. I started the game and played through the tutorial, and saved my new character several times, but I cannot figure out where they are being saved. I have tried searching my computer for the appropriate file name with no luck (yes, view hidden files turned on and everything). Nothing. I am running Windows 8 (stupid, stupid) if that helps, and using SKSE. If anyone has any insight I would greatly appreciate it!!! Thanks all.
  11. Here's my problem, I had a problem with my nexus not starting, a message kept saying that "nexus mod manager has stopped working" and it showed the problem as "CLR20r3" Well I changed the name of my Nexus Mod manager folder in program files from Nexus mod manager to "Nexus Mod Manager1" and now my nexus works. But now any new mods that I try to install are now not working. Such as retexture mods that change npc appearance. I really need someone's help, please help. :(
  12. The Nexus Mod Manager installs into a Games folder on my C drive. This Games folder has no other games in it. I would like to move the NMM from that games folder, into another games folder. If I do this, will it cause problems and how can I do it safely?
  13. FIXED.... Im an idiot I get confusing with my words. I think I may have caused it. Anyways I was thinking of making a new armor but when I went to look for the needed files ect I found that a bunch of stuff is missing I have played with mods and stuff since Fallout: NV came out. The thing is, is that I'm so lazy that instead of trying to delete the mods files when I want one gone, I instead go into steam and delete my local content then delete the data file and the other stuff. ( This is why I think it is happening. ) If you are looking at the picture ignore the texture folder. That only showed up because I installed a mod to replace the roulette wheel with a hamster in a wheel.
  14. Hi all, First time poster, although i have spent the last 24-48 hours trying to find answers to my questions on here and i'm probably missing something really simple. N.B. I do have Skyrim and MODs are working on that with NMM????? There are so many different posts regarding installation of the MODs and i've tried a few different ways but nothing seems to work. Had originally installed Witcher 2 and NMM to the Program Files (x86) folder, however re-installed to C:/Games as a precaution. What's confusing is the number of folders i have linked to Witcher 2:- C:/Games/Witcher 2 - Installation Folder Z:/user/My Documents/Witcher 2 C:/Games/Nexus Mod Manager/ Witcher 2 - Seems to be storage for NMM downloads I have tried installing the MODs using NMM, download goes well, the show to be enabled in the MODs window, however when i launch the userContent Manager nothing appears in the list. When i check the settings in Nexus the MODs directory points to a UserContent folder in the My Documents/Witcher 2 folder. I can see the mods in the folder so i know they're being installed, just not sure if it;s the right location. I have tried amending the directory so it points at the CookedPC folder assuming that's the right location however it doesn't save the change and reverts back as soon as i leave the settings window. I have tried installing MODs manually, still no dice. I'm happy to do it manually but i have 2 problems:- 1. Not sure what the correct location is...... 2. I have 2 of the same file name that i want to use, how do I make these two MODs work together? Both files are replacement base_scripts.dzip. One is 'Extra Talents per Lv' the other is 'Modified Scripts 648....' (gives all level 1 training skills). Can someone explain exactly how to configure NMM to work properly with Witcher 2 or explain how to manually install them and combine multiple mods of the same file name? Running on Windows 8 with Enhanced Edition of Witcher 2. Please help, I don't want to start a game until i've been able to sort out the mods. Feel i'd be missing out on all the great work done by the community. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
  15. Hey, so i bought a new harddrive today and i wanna move Nexus mod manager over to it. how do i go about doing this without reinstalling every mod? Can i just move the folder Games (which in my case is the folder that holds all the mods) and then reinstall NMM and point it towards another drive? And sorry if this is the wrong section, but it seemed to me that none was really better then the next, and this section was the closest
  16. So some non esp/esl texture mods have a folder path such as G:\Mod Organizer\mods\Skyrim 3D Furniture\textures\S3DFurniture\display cases In this folder contains textures which retexture objects in skyrim, but it does not have the same path as the texture has in the vanilla game. I use mod organizer. I tested to see if it actually replaces the texture and it does. Can someone explain to me how this works, how does it know which texture to replace and which texture takes priority if it does not have the same path. Sorry if this is a stupid question, my mind can't figure it out Thanks!!
  17. I am trying to install a mod which has several files. I want to put it in a separate subfolder so I know that those files work together. I understand it is possible to set the manual download to always ask where I want to download. I have looked at all the settings, preferences etc. I cannot find that setting. Could someone tell me the steps to get to it? Thank you. Pos
  18. Hello! I have recently finally bought Skyrim SE and I cannot wait to flood it with mods. However, I .on't like neither Vortex nor MO2, nor NMM and prefer to use Wrye Bash, because I'm used to heavily modding Oblivion and the Fallout games, not Skyrim SE. I'm interested in using the "Pretty" series animations - especially the ones for combat, but those have installers only for NMM or MO2, not Wrye and Wrye fails to recognise folder format and is not letting me install it. Is there a fix or a version somewhere, that I can use with WB, or some conversion, or do I have to manually pick the files I want to use, manually structure them and then install, run FNIS and run the game? I would like to avoid doing all of that manually, it is rather annoying. Any reason why WB fails to recognise this specific user's folder structure? Thanks in advance for any solutions.
  19. I have read that the game uses .pex script files and doesn't use .psc script files. But there are a lot of psc files in source subfolders (like Dawnguard folder) that has no .pex "copy" in scripts folder. Does it mean these scripts are not used by the game at all?
  20. Is there some way I can use NMM to install mods and addons located on the Skyrim main directory (outside the data foder)? I wanted to install mods/tweaks like SKSE, ENBoost, SSME, etc. with a manager, so I could easily restore my folder. Thanks!
  21. [[[it took forever to find this technical discussion topic to re-post this thread in.]]] The Latest version of Nexus Mod Manager (v0.44.1.0) (2.54 MB) (downloaded at 2013/03/06 13:55) is terribly frustrating!! When you right click a mod file one of the things it should indicate is the name or names of the file(s) it's name is attached to! Same problem with the PLUGINS tab.. heres a list of plugins of all sorts of rando,m names, like drip.esp and rip.epm yoda.esp and 4523jsfdg.esm and yay it shows it's Dependancies.. ooo, but what file is parent? how do i know that BillysWiggelingWillies.7z is responsible for 9001KneeKnightWillies.esp and not epicLightingModOfHolyGrail.rar? no where anyplace inside of Nexus Mod Manager can you find the filename of the file it dl'ed. Nexus Mod Site: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9936 "A Realistic Hope ENB The photorealistic ENB by Sharpshooter8" has the Nexus mod manager name: "A Realistic Hope ENB The photorealistic ENB - Classic" and actually has the file name of: "Classic-9936.rar" in the mods folder. This is infuriating! ESPECIALLY when NexusModManager reports that it just downloaded version 2.2 of the file when version 2.4 is what there own site is hosting!!!! (Even deleteing "Classic-9936.rar", restarting NMM and re-downloading from http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9936 didn't help..) I haven't seen this much file name obscurity and confusion since windows decided to hide the 8.3 names of it's font file sets! 1> Why is NMM keeping these files secret? 2> and why does it keep downloading the wrong, older versions of mods?? NMM has pushed me to the point where i have to go punch something to feel better. ((Also the forum here isn't exactly self explanatory for where to post bugs, gripes or feature requests,))

  23. I'm considering moving my Steam folder out of Program Files (x86) and just into C:\Games for what people assure will provide extra stability. Are there any possible consequences that might arise from such a move, with particular regard to mods?
  24. I've recently started using Nexus mods, but a slightly annoying thing is that I have to manually look for a mod when I download it. When I search for a mod on Vortex with the "install from file" option, I can never find what I'm looking for. I have to find what folder my mod downloaded on then drag&drop to Vortex. Is there way to set mods to a specific folder?
  25. Hey i have a stupid question that most likely has been asked before by another modding noob. When installing mods after i extract the files into a folder, they usually come with a folder that says the mods name then inside a folder that says data. inside that is all the mesh folders, texture folders etc. My question is a lot of mods have the same named folders and if i extract them it replaces the folders i already extracted so am I supposed to keep it in the original folder? example is "Modname/data/textures" which folder do i extract from? also another question i had is if a folder has "loose files" AND esp/esm files do i still throw the esp/esm files in the main data folder or keep em grouped with their asset folders? And one last question is what do I do with the ba2 files? do i also drag them right in like the eps/esm files?
