Hello. First off, I want to apologize. I'm new here, and it probably shows. Secondly, I've just started using Creation Kit- and so far, I've had a bit of fun with it. I've made several mods that I use privately, so I think that many mods I've *wished* would be made, I might yet be able to make. However, the most I've done is mere stat changes. Most of my mod ideas rely on changing the circumstances under which certain options and in-game actions are possible or otherwise can happen- or, by contrast, are locked from showing or being accessible. For the mod ideas at the front of my mind right now, I'm especially interested in doing this for dialogue options, quest resolutions, and the relationships between the two. Idiot I am, I haven't been able to find a tutorial on any of this latter stuff. I'm sorry to do this, but I'm really eager to try to bring my ideas to life in Skyrim, and for that, I need directory from you veterans. So, I humbly ask you all, where might I find a tutorial that explains how to adjust the conditions under which certain dialogue options are available, certain quests are or aren't resolved, and/or both. Again, sorry, I know how pathetic this probably comes off as.

My SSD has failed in Raid 0 (2x 128GB SSD) configuration set from the manufacture and now all data is lost. This came at a good time as I was not playing Skyrim, just learning MO2 and researching mods that I would enjoy. My laptop is a GT70 2pc dominator mSATA drive non-nvme if that helps so looking for some advice technical and game related. I am posting some questions from other threads as no response in 2 days so hoping this is okay. 1. The laptop has room for 3 drives. The third drive is 1TB HGST platter (nothing on it so can be replaced). What would you suggest for a new setup of drives? Size, raid configuration, brands, etc.. think of this is yours and what would you do for gaming/entertainment 2. Where would you install steam games at? The default location for steam is in the program folders x86 and read that this is not a good idea. This may be better answered by how the drives are being setup. 3. Thoughts on Mod Organizer 2 vs Vortex. Are both still being developed? From my understanding that the person tannin has worked on both so is MO2 being phased out for Vortex? Since I am just getting started in modding don't want to be on the back end of one organizer if it is being replaced by another. 4. I was looking for help on the graphics side finding the right ones that won't overwhelm my GTX870m 6GB. My inital search is for SMIM, 2017 Textures, 3d Trees and plants. This is for the environment of how to make it look better. I want to be part of it. What has looked good to you. I do have 24 GB of memory if that helps 5. Appreciate any other pieces of advice, mods, hints, tips, tricks to enjoy this game. Thank you!

I hate to be "that guy" that bugs everyone with a topic about getting started, but I could really use some real, human input at this point. So I'm looking to get into Skyrim modding, not only because I want to make stuff for myself, but because I'm very seriously looking to make a career out of 3D modelling, texturing, and animation. I've spent the last couple days watching videos, downloading programs, and reading tutorials about how to start all this stuff, but, quite frankly, this is way more than I bargained for. There's so much information and not very many sources that give good instruction for someone who's completely new to everything. The biggest setback for me is that it's extremely difficult to find any guides on using Blender 2.49b now that there are newer versions. I spent a few hours messing around with tools, but I can't figure out how to shape a model the way I want and the camera alone is wearing on my nerves. I simply find the program to be unbearably user-unfriendly and, coupled with my inability to actually sculpt anything properly, I'd like to find an alternative. I've read (sort of) that models built in ZBrush can be imported to Skyrim, whether proxied through Blender or otherwise, and, from what I've seen, it looks infinitely easier to use. So, on to my questions. Is ZBrush totally fine to use rather than Blender? Information was a little scarce and chock-full of jargon I've never seen or heard before, so are there some guides for going about what needs to be done to import ZBrush stuff into Nifscope, as well as importing models from vanilla Skyrim into ZBrush? I realize that these kinds of threads are probably overdone to all hell, so I very much appreciate any and all help, advice, suggestions, and feedback. Thanks in advance.
