  1. I've been thinking about this one for a while, and I asked about it on the Bethesda forums way back when. Got some traffic, but no one responded to the idea. I am papyrus-challenged and I think, now that modders have been experimenting with FO4's scripting functions a little more, maybe this mechanic will be feasible. It always bothered me that limb-based armor (a hugely welcome addition in itself) contributed to an actor's total damage resistance value. So the helmet you're wearing will contribute to protecting you from getting shot in the leg. I think it would be pretty sweet to have armor that only protected the limb it was on. Make for more deliberation when selecting what to wear, human enemies have dynamic weak spots, etc. I don't know if there's space within the events that occur when a player is hit with an attack, but I can see an obvious way to approach this conceptually: On an actor's being hit, his damage resistance actor value is modded to the value of the piece of armor on the limb that was hit. Armor piercing rounds "mod target damage resistance," so we would be doing the same thing but retrieving that value from a worn item. In the onHit event, the parameter apMaterial tells the script which limb was hit. That's all I got. There are "perk entry points" that seem to do very promising things - maybe a script extender is needed here?
  2. Hello! Well. Everyone knows how sometimes the F5/F9 system can make the system uninteresting. Recently I tried the "another kick in the head" mod. Playing knowing you won't load the game, every choice is definitive and you have to deal with consequences (except for bugs and stuff you wouldn't know) makes mojave really interesting. For example, for the first time Ringo died saving Goodsprings and... I dealt with it. Realod infinite times until everyone is alive? BORING! (Also is not that important NPC so...). It's nice to play this way. WIth fear. A mine in the ground that cripples your leg? You learn to pay more attention and not just F9. But I don't like that mod. Losing all your stuff... is more annoying than challenging. I had to cheat and load. So my proposal... maybe someone knows if this exists or can create it... it can be easy and would be so nice... I don't know how to make mods. I'm a programmer so maybe I can learn it if someone helps me or something xDD I never tried deeply. - When your HP reaches zero, you are instantly teleported to doc's house in Goodsprings with 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - ALL parts of the body crippled (maybe according to a difficulty setting). If can't, I would like to get ALL parts crippled by default. Just that. With this, dying is really fatal, but not a dead end. You can still play, but crippled you would have epic debuffs in every single area... for the ones that use the sprint mod, you can't run with cripple legs and it's worse. You would have to save caps so the doctor can heal you, and it would give Medicine skill more value to make doctor bags. But you can continue playing with everything crippled, that's the point: DEAL WITH CONSEQUENCES. And you can't exploit "saving the caps in a box so you don't lose them after dying" cause you have to spend them at doctor anyway... so it's perfect. Losing my items in other mods it's a dead end for me. Anyone can make this or help me make this? It would be amazing... Also, to mix, I downloaded a mod that increases doctor's prices. BUT!! I think it costs the same to heal 1 crippled part or 6 crippled parts. The mod could also change this, and maybe add a menu to change the doctor's prices??? Thanks!!! EDIT: For now I have this. I don't know if this would work in the script (ingame console works). I don't know how to say "after player death, instead of reloading, do this". player.forceav health 1; player.forceav PerceptionCondition 0; player.forceav EnduranceCondition 0; player.forceav LeftAttackCondition 0; player.forceav RightAttackCondition 0; player.forceav LeftMobilityCondition 0; player.forceav RightMobilityCondition 0; coc GSDocMitchellHouse;
  3. So Iâm thinking about making a health system where: #1: when a humanâs torso or head is crippled they die. Thatâs one separate issue I am trying to figure out scripting wise. #2: A way to have an armor item reduce crippling to one specific limb only While there are armor modifications in the base game that globally reduce limb crippling, is there a way to make this effect only apply to the head? In this way, my health system will allow helmets preventing headshots, and then also using a similar effect to have body armor protect the body but not the limbs. Any ideas for either point? Cheers :)
  4. Heyho guys, this is some really strange bug/glitch I have in Fallout: New Vegas. I was near Goodsprings when suddenly, I did not fall from anywhere, it just happened without any reason, one of my legs got crippled. Not bad enough, after I used a Doctor's Bag the limb health indicating bar went to full but the leg was still marked as crippled, in the pip boy aswell as next to my health bar. My Character also walks like she has a leg crippled, is unable to sprint (PN Sprint Mode) and walks instead. Now the weirdest of all: There was no possibility to heal that limb. I used three Doctor's Bags, on the leg aswell as the overall body, visited two Doctor's who did healing (because they probably detected a crippled limb) but afterwards it remained crippled and not even the cheaty console command "player.resethealth" worked... Did I mention that the limbcondition meter being at full health remains unchanged even when I fall from unsave heights, which force my other leg to cripple? Maybe this has sth to do with a mod, Improved Regen Implant (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35349/?) that makes the Health Regen Implant from Doctor Usanagi heal more HP and even Limb DMG, which I installed recently and deinstalled after this glitch occured. Sadly the deinstallation did not help... EDIT: Completely reinstalling game and mods didn't help either... Any help is appreciated :smile: I hope one can find a solution for this.. Thanks for reading and answering to this <3 ~ Tetraphobic
  5. Ever since i played fallout 3 i had an idea for a mod that when, for example, you get your arm cut off or shoot off you would have a chance to survive it stop the bleeding and try to make it to your settelment and could get something like a Robot prosthesis same with the other parts of the Body. it would be cool if you could customize your prosthesises maybe at a Workshop or through surgeon maybe you could Combine it with a medical perk. sorry if my english is bad its not my mother language :pinch: Greetings from Germany :happy:
  6. Limb Amputation I like to see a mod that would Amputate an enemy where the limb is at zero and not be the killing blow that kills it, minus head shots, head shot Amputation would be silly though that could be something to laugh about seeing an enemy still fighting without its head. Anyway for me its just frustrating to see an enemy with zero points in an arm or leg and still running around on it. Wonder if I'm the only one looking for something like that?
  7. As it says in the title, I'm looking for a way to increase limb damage to enemies, but I can't seem to find anything that works.
  8. Hello, I am trying to make a fire gecko that will stop using its fire ability if its head is crippled. I also want to see if it is possible for NPC/creatures to switch/juggle weapons in combat. I have modded a companion into a fire gecko, and while this works fine, I am trying to find a way so the fire gecko will switch to melee if injured. Right now it will keep using its fire ability no matter what. I am also interested in finding a way for the fire gecko to switch to melee when too close to the target OR switch weapons at somewhat random times. Can anyone help me, or point me in the right direction to accomplish one of theses tasks?
  9. I dont know how to make mods myself yet but I would love to see some prosthetic limb mods. I know there's a couple for oldrim I can port but I'm really looking for some nice new limb replacers or armor that would give me the desired look. Everything I can find is usually full body or both arms and absolutely nothing for legs, and even less for male characters. I figured they could be made pretty natural to the game using dwemer or steel/iron textures. If anyone is interested in making this mod, I'll happily be your first tester. Or if anyone knows of any great ones please let me know. Best two I could find are: West Wind Combat Series - Assault Armor UNP UNPB BBP https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31813/?tab=files Berserk Black Swordsman Armor https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11784/?tab=files#
  10. Because of crippled limbs (using FWE).
  11. Hello again community! I had another fun idea i wanted to share you with you today! How often haven't you had your legs and arms crippled? I know i have! Doesn't that make you wonder? How many other in the wasteland have been as unlucky as i or worse? Well suuure a few people have busted some kneecaps and can't walk, but is that all? is it really impossible some scavengers survived being maimed? Therefor i suggest a mod idea! "Disabled Wastelanders"! Now the courier will occasionally be reminded how ruthless and unforgiving the wasteland can be! You might meet a local in Novac with only one arm! Or an old cripple with a crutches or in a wheelchair possibly missing a leg! Even an old man with a limp supporting his weight on a cane. Not to mention injured patients missing limbs moaning in pain at different medical locations! Some might say that Darwin's "survival of the fittest" rule makes handicapped wastelanders a minority. But i think that even in an unforgiving setting as fallout, a cripple still stands a chance for survival. Now... as stated above i suggest a couple of different disabilities and means to mend them. And i am aware a wheelchair and an animation for crutches isn't part of fallout as of right now. But i have seen what you talented modders can do. And have seen the changes things like this does to the game. And i hope someone will take up the mantle and make a great mod! I do not suspect all of said features at once. Not even all of the features at all! But is someone was willing to add just a few. that would be great! PS: I suggest that some script disabling two handed weapon usage for people lacking an arm and running for people without legs be disabled :wink: And if a wheelchair,crutch or cane was implemented. Tru to increase the time it takes to turn. Nothing worse than seeing an old man in a wheelchair do a 180 in a flash :wink: http://i61.tinypic.com/wgryc7.jpg
  12. Wouldn't it be awesome if there was a robotic race mod that you could play as, and loose a limb in battle without dying? Everyone knows a robot can loose leg or arm and keep on going. This armor mod has everything needed to get started; http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57010/? Just look at the dismemberment pictures. The graphical work is already great. Now if it could be merged with a mod that allows the PC to loose limbs without dying, it would be awesome. Or maybe death only occurs when the PC's head is destroyed. If the right arm was removed, no more shooting until it could be repaired. Left hand removal means no more 2 handed weapons. And leg removed means very slow cripple walk animation. Just slow the walk speed way down. I don't know anything about animating or scripting, and I don't have time to learn. I was just hoping this would spark someones interest. Let me know what you think.
