  1. Food is useless in Skyrim. I've looked at a lot of food mods, but I still haven't found the right one. I need a mod that will either completely disable all food effects, or give temporary bonuses that increase health, mana, and stamina. And to make it compatible with mods that add new food. I have already tried to remove the effects of food manually in SSEEdit, but this causes the game to crash.

  5. Hi modders, I recently started learning Blender and chose a fairly detailed armor set that includes a fur-lined cloak. QUESTION — how do you usually simulate fur on the model? Do you use some kind of base preset from the game and then rely on a Skyrim plugin that adds a “fuzziness” effect to the standard fur texture?
  6. Hi. I'm working on a mask model in Blender for Skyrim, but I've run into a problem where when I equip this mask on a character, it doesn't show up in the game. I tried fixing it in NifSkope by setting the SBP_30 HEAD parameter, which is Slot 30 for the head. I checked the bone weighting and it seemed fine, but when I import it, the mask just doesn't load in the game. If I export the model without bones, it does appear in the game, but it's not attached to the character's face. It just floats in the air as a static object. I think I did everything correctly in the Creation Kit. Please help me figure this out. I'm new to modding.
  7. Okay I had the wrong culprit in my mind yesterday which I think caused some confusion so I removed those threads. That being said, I'm honestly blown away that this is not outlined anywhere.. I just can't search up the answer. It's absurdly simple, too. I noticed the problem when I loaded WyreBash to play around with bashed patches (been out of the loop for awhile) and I didn't realize the activation changes that I made would persist. Probably wouldn't have even known that this problem existed if I hadn't thought I remembered the DLC plugins not being enabled in the right of MO2. The problem is they all run without being enabled at all. I checked just to make sure, and I was able to travel to Zion Canyon and begin Honest Hearts with HonestHearts.esm disabled. Also, I experienced my first crash after maybe 15-20 minutes of having all the DLC .esms enabled. I'm assuming this means they should be disabled.. what about the caravan/gun runners/tribal packs? Are those also magically unpacked into the aether somewhere? Which .esms are we actually supposed to have activated in the right Plugins panel of MO2? I'm honestly starting to think that this may be one of the (if not perhaps one of the primary) reasons so many people report constant crashing 15-20min into a game while running only the VNV guide. It's such a small, simple, yet apparently completely overlooked thing. I really can only hope that (besides getting an answer at all) this will be picked up by Google. If I do get an answer I'll probably post it on Steam forums or somewhere they like to make sure it's indexable. It just seems like such a highly likely culprit for some absurdly easy to fix yet totally game-breaking problems. When I looked at the crash log I had it seemed like half the things it was trying to reference were just failing all over the place. Like I said, at this point I assume that at least the DLC .esms are a no-go to enable (even though MO2 says "missing masters" it will let you run the game, something it won't do with missing texture masters) but I have no idea if the Packs are supposed to be enabled or if they will cause the same issues. I could figure this out through extensive playtesting, but for one thing I've been trying to get this game up & running for a week after being gone for a few years, and the second (and perhaps more important) thing is that not everyone has time or ability to do that sort of thing. I'd be a lot happier knowing that other people won't be tearing their hair out over this (or avoiding the game over it) in the future. The problems I experienced seem to line up with at least dozens of anecdotal stories I've heard of why people don't play this amazing game. "Tried to make the game work using only VNV, got constant crashing every 20min or less that made the game unplayable for me"... I'm sure that you can tell by this wall of text that I'm kind of losing it over this too. Thank you and have a good day
  8. I’m posting this not to start drama, but because this affects all Schedule 1 players, not just mod authors. In the latest update, IfBars intentionally added code that forces incompatibility with S1API and every mod depending on it. This is not a technical limitation — it is a deliberate compatibility block. Context and proof: S1API (widely used community API): https://thunderstore.io/c/schedule-i/p/IfBars/S1API_Forked/ Mod that restores compatibility by removing the artificial check: https://www.nexusmods.com/schedule1/mods/1484 The fact that compatibility can be restored so easily shows one thing clearly: this breakage was intentional, not unavoidable. Why this should concern everyone here: S1API is infrastructure. Many mods rely on it. Blocking it on purpose harms the entire modding ecosystem. Users lose freedom of choice. We are forced to drop multiple mods because of a decision that has nothing to do with gameplay or stability. Personal conflicts should never be enforced through code. Players should not be collateral damage in modder disputes. This is a slippery slope. If this becomes acceptable, any author can start blocking APIs or other mods for personal reasons. This is not about liking or disliking a specific author. It’s about protecting open modding, compatibility, and user choice. I hope more users speak up about this, and that artificial compatibility blocks like this are discouraged going forward — otherwise this will not be the last time it happens.
  9. Hello Community, So I want to be able to take a mod file for Battlefront 2 (a .fbmod file) and bring the mesh and textures into Blender. I know how to extract models using the frosty tools editor that are built into the game, and I know how to mod the game for gameplay with the mod manager, but nothing I'm doing seems to show up in the editor for me to export like an .fbx or any texture files. Anyone know how to do this either using frosty tools, blender or a 3rd party solution?

  11. Hello, I’ve recently gotten into modding and 3D modeling. I’m planning to create armor, and I’ve run into a question: how do I make it for CBBE? Do I need some kind of stock CBBE body meshes, or should I create the armor on vanilla body meshes and then convert it to CBBE afterward? Experienced modders, please explain the process at least briefly!
  12. I dont have like 500+ mods, but im having A LOT of issues with "out of memory" crashes, and one of the fixes i found was to merge esm. Problem is, not all mods appear on FNVedit, so i was thinking about merging the folders of the mods into one singular mod folder. Buuuuuuuuut im still thinking if its even worth doing that in the first place, so yeah xvx.

Hair color or skin tone for that matter or the color of make up such as eyeliner and eye shadow and flush, etc. So long and short of it is I made myself a preset in racemenu to use on later playthroughs. Set up the characters' hair color, skin tone, war paint, you get the idea. Problem is when I load the preset it saves the face shape, it saves the eyes shape and eye color, even loads the right hair style. It does not load the hair color, skin tone, or any of the makeup though. Its not the biggest deal as I can set it myself but the point of a preset is to plug and play no? Its also annoying too as when I download someone else's preset as well it also does not load it correctly especially on things like makeup and blush. Its also annoying as well since when you do load up a preset it does tell me the colors should be correct even if they are not. For example when I load the preset it tells me the hair should be black and that the cheeks should have a blush to them despite that not being the case in game. I am wondering if anyone else had this problem in racemenu and what is going on?

Hello, this is my first time using a nexus forum so i apologize if i didn’t post this in the right place, i have backup in case Mods tell me to post it elsewhere, but i’ve been having a peculiar problem which kills all the fun i have on modded Skyrim SE the game immediately crashes when i try to cast spells, including the basic Flames one I’m using Vortex, Loot, SSEedit, BethINI and Wrye Bash, unless i messed up unknowingly all my mods have the needed compatible patches, all my dlcs and plugins are sorted and cleaned, i have zero warning, yellow box, missing masters, compatibility patch warning or dirty plugins on my Loot list and i am below the 255 limit. I also have all the core mods needed for my mods installed and successfully ran my animation mods through Pandora. None of this is a flex but an explanation that I have basic modding knowledge, already did an unfinished modded playthrough of the game on my previous pc and researched Skyrim modding intensively, I have no problem outside of this one thus I am confused about the origins of this issue and what to do. I’m using Crash Logger, and after running my crash logs through a reader it implied there were compatibility issues between 3DNPC, Realistic Lighting Overhaul (even tho i cleaned the dirty edits as Loot said) and Alternate Start. I did a test without 3DNPC and RLO but the crash was still there and the log now said it was probably Alternate Start and after some digging around ive heard complaints of regular crashes about the mod so I restarted a game without it and used Skyrim Unbound instead. Lo and Behold, Skyrim Unbound is also listed as maybe conflictual but i really don’t wanna go through the game’s base intro in all its long buggy glory every time. After hours upon hours of searching up causes and fixes on google, reddit and nexus no luck. Crash log analyzers tell me to check for errors involving mods that change meshes or cells to see if nothing’s corrupted but im not too familiar with how to do this. It’s probably the root of the problem and i might need someone to walk me through how to do that if you feel like that may be the issue. I’m trying my best to play the game without spells, i’m more of a warrior build guy anyway, but i’m asking here as a last resort because ignoring a problem won’t make it go away and i love the College of Winterhold and kinda dreading that part now and I’m a bit too exhausted to fish manually through all my mods one by one to find the problem. I´ve been having this issue for a couple of days, it suddenly started when i closed the game one time, then i went back later that day to load where i left off, but it would crash as soon as it started to load from the main menu. This happened with all the saves (manual saves, autosaves and quicksaves even) from the same character, be it outside or inside a cell, with or without companions or anything such. This kind of crash only gave me this crash log for every save i tried to load and failed: The crash log has nothing else on it other than this for all the saves i tried to load and failed, and the Phostwood analyzer only gives me superficial diagnoses, the HDT line was already checked and the mods are up to date and working. HOWEVER, the weirdest thing is that i can start a new game with no issues or crashes, AND after a minute or two i can load any save from the previous character i was having issues with, but the game feels off, the subtitels dont work sometimes, and i cant mine any kind of ore with a pickaxe, both in the inventory (It gives the "fail" sound effect like a shout on cooldown when you press "E" to mine it) and while it is equipped on hand and swinging at the vein itself. I havent found other issues so far while inside the game in such a manner. I already tried to validate the game files, check for mods by disabling and enabling, purging and re-deploying with vortex and such, with no luck other than loading from a fresh game and then into the character in question. I also tried to use Fallrim tools on the saves with only one string without any attachment, fixing it but still no luck. I guess starting anew might be the best thing, but i was worried something like this might happen again. EDIT: It seems Quests are also broken, you cannot get gold or item rewards, items that need to be handed over dont transfer and other quests like bounties by clearing areas or dealing with a bandit boss are marked as completed but without the reward, the NPCs get stuck on the last line of dialoge and wont hand or get anything in return
  16. I'm kinda new on the moding scene, but in my mod I like inventions and sorta unconventional things. Ergo, I run in loads of problems. And, by Jove, when I hear/read the words "engine limitations", I get all giddy, warm and fuzzy inside, and I can't wait to break them. There are a couple of limitations I already broke, and I will try to help someone in my posts ... well ... all except one Ok, so, situation: I have my NPC that has a travel package to a marker, but has the "Must Complete" flag on, as he really needs to do something there, so I must be sure he reaches his destination. Meantime, I have to talk to him. Using the "Stayatself" package with the IsInScene condition is useless in this case: it stops to greet me, then just simply scarpers, leaving me to swallow my words. I looked in every forum, asked a series of AI, and the same answer: "Engine limitations. You cannot fully stop/pause a package with Must Complete on". Oooh ... Engine limitation .... Oh, goody goody !!! So time for some lateral thinking. So, long story short, found a solution: DO NOT try to use IsInScene ! It's useless in this case ! What you do is declare a global value, lets say "stopit". Then, in his main AI package (the one with "Must Complete") add the condition stopit !=1. Add another package with travel at self radius 0 (to stay put) and the condition stopit == 1. Then, at the very beginning of the scene do a papyrus script: stopit.SetValue(1) theNPC.EvaluatePackage() theNPC.EvaluatePackage() WARNING ! NOT a typo ! you put evaluate two times, as only once makes him stop after a few steps, but twice makes him stop immediately - don't ask me why !! And when you finish the dialogue, put, in the end, stopit.SetValue(0) theNPC.EvaluatePackage(). And voila, it'll stop and stay put to talk to you !!! What happens if YOU go away middle of the dialogue ? He stays put, of course. Not to worry, we'll address this as well. So, to avoid this, the whole snippet at the beginning of the scene will be: stopit.setvalue(1) theNPC.EvaluatePackage() theNPC.EvaluatePackage() While stopit.GetValue() == 0 Utility.Wait(1.0) Float distance = Game.GetPlayer().GetDistance(theNPC) If distance > 500.0 stopit.SetValue(0) theNPC.EvaluatePackage() EndIf EndWhile Hope this saves someone some hair (lol).   17. I'm not sure if anyone is up to it, but it would be nice to see someone make an updated and fixed version of the Reshaped Cuirasses and Waffenrocks mod. The creator of the mod hasn't updated the mod in about 8 months (which is fine since they're most likely busy) and the newer cuirasses and whatnot haven't had their models reshaped yet. Also, there's still a bug with the waffenrocks where if there's too many npcs in an area, their waffenrocks will begin to flicker and glitch which is kinda bothering to see. Hi y'all my problem is exactly what the title says, picked up Boone as my companion and just noticed this happening. when he reracks his rifle the sound sounds close up as if I am doing it during slow mo or something. I have looked everywhere and only found one person that posted the same problem with no real solution posted. The only mods I have installed that I believe could possibly be causing this is another millennia and X01X010s' Mosin Nagant mod. Any help or solution with this would be greatly appreciated I really don't want to have to modify the sound file myself as I have never done anything like that and am sacred I could end up breaking more rather than helping
  19. I did a clean reinstall of skyrim, following gamerpoets video and asking around in the skyrim discord hoping it would fix this issue but sadly it didnt. Is there are a fix or something i can do to get rid of all the junk data? nvm its been solver
  20. I'm working on some spells to summon different NPCs. Some NPCs have a male and female version. Or a melee version, magic version and a bow version. Like, a "summon dremora" spell that has an equal chance of summoning my male melee, magic or bow dremora NPC or summoning my female melee, magic or bow dremora npc. (Just randomly pick 1 out of the 6 and summon it like a normal summoning spell) I really have no idea how to go about that, But I don't want to clutter up the game with 500 different summoning spells, so I thought I'd ask here for help fixing it up somehow.
  21. Hi all, I've been very late to the world of Nirn, but very quickly fell into the modding rabbit-hole. The challenges have been many, the confusion and sometimes frustration pervasive, and the learning significant and still ongoing. Still, I have wished that someone provided a concise overall guideline of sort for how to approach, what to install, how to create a foundation for mods to be added to my build, what options were out there, et cetera. Or at least that if such a resource existed, that I would have found it. And seen the many questions so many members of our community have, I feel I am not alone in this feeling. Provided that I have a tendency to take notes, after a few years of playing around with mods I came to think that perhaps my notes -with little editing to make them more understandable/palatable- could be the leaflet I wished I had back when. So, in the spirit I have found here, I decided to share this learning take-away of mine. Please keep in mind that this is all this is, my personal take away shared in the hope that it may be useful.   22. Hi! This is my first post, so I apologize if anything is done incorrectly. I'm trying to make my own portrait mod. I would like for it to be an HD portrait mod, but I can't figure out how to keep the images from getting destroyed by pixelation. I posted a drawing of Emily as an example of what the images will look like (in the end they'll be about 256x256). I know how to format the expressions sheet, and I've even gotten them to work in game using portraiture. The issue is, they look like crud in game. Is it too detailed? Is there a good tutorial or something out there? I've tried looking, and I can't find anything. Please help. I've never done anything like this before. I would love, like, DCBurger image quality.

Even the animations are bugging. Is it because I have a low end machine?   24. Sorry for this very basic question but I'm new to modding: I'd like to create a new radio mod for Fallout New Vegas and I'm at the very beginning: Which GECK should I use it to create? I did search the google for hours and still couldn't figure it out: Most posts are decade old, I even stumbled upon the geckwiki.com which states: "Steam users can find the program by searching it in the Tools section of their library." I've tryed to search for GECK, Creation kit, etc but I fail to find it on steam. I own a New Vegas PCR version of the game (afaik it's the eastern European version and I cannot buy any other New Vegas version on steam). I already found and used the Creation Kit for Fallout 4 as I own that game as well, but I just cannot find the GECK for New Vegas. Should I just download it from geckwiki? "Download the Garden of Eden Creation Kit for Fallout: New Vegas here" Honestly, I wanted to have it off from steam since I've already used the Fallout 4 creation kit already and it feels more natural/confortable to me to download it from Steam (maybe even would need less configuration). So where should I start?
