  1. Hey everyone, I recently wanted people to take a poll for something related about our CBBE body mod for Skyrim. The site I chose for this was strawpoll, so I created one and put it into a sticky in the comments section. :dry: Now I was thinking, it would be rather nice to have polls integrated into the Nexus mod pages. :smile: Either as a separate tab like the new bug reporting one, or integrated into the actual comments themselves, so you can create a poll in a comment and then sticky it.   4. Hey folks I was curious what kind of settings folks use with trade & barter for their F.Barter Max, and F.Barter Minimum. I personally want a better than average experience then skyrim, but want speech-craft to play a semi important part. Currently I am using F.Barter Max 4.3, and F/barterMin 2.0. I want to be able to sell for about 20-25% of an item. But not sure how that would simulate with the settings.

  7. Thought it would be interesting to see how often the community crashes when playing with mods. Please also state how many mods you have and generally talk about your experience with crashes and how you fixed them and what you've learned. Personally I've just started a new save, added some mods and then played for a while, added some more mods and moved around the load order a bit, and now I'm crashing at random intervals. One shouldn't be moving around the load order! I know, but there are a few mods I really don't want to be overridden. Good thing settlement transfer exist so I can save all my hard work for my next, hopefully crash free session. Tell us your story!

So I'm starting this small poll to make my decision on whether I should proceed in designing the mod in that direction. I'd appreciate your help if u participated in the following poll and filled in.

  11. So I have a doubt regarding the process of creation. I have been doing the thing lacking the needed discipline. The whole thing feels like a Swiss cheese. So I have to decide what I gotta do. I have two strategies in mind: hasting through the main basic design with no attention to details and, only after all is defined, going back to the beginning and flesh it all out. The second one is to start a city and only stop after the last character and the last house interior is done, them moving into a dungeon and doing all that should happen there. And them, moving on to the next quest/dungeon/city. Thank you for leaving your opinion.
  12. This is partially just because I'm curious, but also for a mod I'm making. I'd like to use some SKSE functions, and if I did, the mod would be more fleshed out and interesting. So far though, I don't need SKSE to do what I'm trying to do. So I want to know if the modding community prefers not having mods require SKSE, or if they don't care. I also want to know how many of you have SKSE, since I think it's a pretty big number, and if you have it already then I might as well use the SKSE functions.   13. So right now I'm working on my WIP Immersive Quests. However, every time I finish a quest I release it in the WIP thread for testing and feedback. The next time that happens won't be a little while since my computer broke and right now I'm only able to use this one for 2 hours. But when I have those extra times, I generally bugfix my current mods and make new ones. Last time I made Simple Taxes. Pretty quick, updated it a few times, within 2-3 days (the testing period). So next time, I'd like feedback on what I should make next. Nothing huge since I'll only have 2-4 days depending (most likely 3 or 4 in this case, it's a little longer). So what should I do? Here's my thoughts: Class System - A very simple message box oriented class system. There is another overhaul out there to do this and more so I probably won't do this unless you guys want me to. Detect Items - A simple lesser ability that will allow you to detect all items over a customizable value (or value:weight ratio). Don't really got any more ideas... I'm liking the second one but if you've got more ideas that would be great. Nothing too big though - keep it simple.
  14. Alright! I've decided on Immersive Quests. Keep an eye out for it. While I do have to restart from scratch, I'm hoping to get a release out in a month or so. It may take more or less time, but I do intend to finish it. While I won't have much free time after that, I am going to try to work as hard as I can on it! Thank you all for your input. Okay. So I just got a new computer, and I'm thinking about either pursuing a mod idea I was working on before (which I would need to restart), or picking up a different mod idea. I thought about just going through the requests section, but I decided I'd take some ideas here first. Okay. So I'm best at quest design and scripting, so I'd rather the idea be quest-oriented. Also, I'd like the project to be somewhat large, not a quick fix or small idea. Something I could work on for a month or two. Now, it's either somebody else's idea, or the one I was already thinking of, called Immersive Quests (for lack of a better name). Immersive Quests Immersive Quests aims to add new, unique, and fully voice-acted quests to the game. Rather than filler quests, like the ones that I personally feel like Skyrim is packed with, they would be in-depth and thought-out quests, most of a size similar to Blood on Ice. Some of the quests would have uniquely textured/meshed rewards, as well as multiple options to choose from. The idea is to create more quests that pull you into the story, and make you care about the outcome, as well as giving the player a freedom of choice many of Skyrim's vanilla quests don't have. I'd like to note that I don't think there's anything wrong with filler quests, and I don't think the designers of Skyrim's quests are inherently bad at quest design or anything like that. I'm just someone who wants to see more quests in the game with longer and more in-depth storylines. Essentially, Immersive Quests will add more big(ish) quests to Skyrim, to extend your playtime, and add a bit of variety to Skyrim's quests. If you think Immersive Quests is something you'd like to see, then vote for it. Otherwise, you can tell me your ideas for a quest line/mod. If I'm interested, I might just make it. Also, if you see a quest idea below that you like, you can "vote" for it. I'll add it to the poll.

  17. Disclaimer: If I do make this follower mod, it will not be anytime soon. Mostly likely months away, maybe this summer. But no guarantees. I just want your guys' opinions. Some time in the future, I intend to work on a follower mod. By some time, I mean quite a while. I want to release the first version of Immersive Quests first, and from there it will have updates as I add more quests and fix bugs. But after that first release, I won't be working quite so hard on adding new quests and such and I may well allow more quest designers to come onto the team. So I'll have some free time, and my next big project (if I don't burn out...) I would love to have as a follower mod. First - my inspirations (May contain spoilers about some of these mods) Ruined Tails Tale - Oblivion Follower Mod INIGO - Skyrim Follower Mod There are plenty of other great mods with advanced features and great quests (Vilja is one, though I couldn't continue playing her because there were some things that irked me too much) that I take inspiration from, but these are the biggest ones. Second - What I look for Good voice acting Well-written dialogue, including idle dialogue and such that is quest aware, location aware, lots-of-things aware New follower features - some of my favorites include Inigo's Any thoughts? where he'll tell you about his surroundings; a toggleable quest marker so you can find your follower; a summon follower spell for the same reason as the former; a regard system like that of Arissa the Wandering Rogue - I'm very into the player's actions affecting characters Customizability - the ability to customize their combat style, following distance, and much, much more - mostly through the follower, though I wouldn't be averse to an MCM (which I am quite well versed in) A good character - this one is very important. I have to like, or at least feel for (or perhaps dislike and come to like) the character in question. Otherwise they're bland and boring, like many of Skyrim's vanilla followers Player Impact - I like it when the player's actions/thoughts/what they say impacts the follower. Probably not to the extent of Ruin - the character of Ruin was very malleable, unlike most real people (though Ruin had a reason). But like Arissa. A system where the follower has a dislike/like for the player, and depending on their respect of the player, may adopt some of what the player wants Questline - not as important as a good follower, but I enjoy a good questline. Ruin is a fantastic example. My main skill is also quest creation (which happens to include many parts of follower creation), so that may be part of it. Not skimpy - I like my followers realistic and interesting. As such, my follower would likely be male. Nothing against female followers/characters/whatever, but many follower mods are skimpy females with the vanilla follower functionality which get a bunch of endorsements. There are also not a lot of male follower mods. And no matter what, there wouldn't be any skimpiness or whatever. It's just not something I would spend my time making - I want to like my own mod. Third - Wrapping it up I'd love it if you shared your thoughts on this matter. What do you like in a follower? Voting in the poll is great, but if you could also post to explain your thoughts or go into more detail, I'd appreciate it very much. Also note that this may or may not come about as a mod, and if it does it will be some time away, but without your feedback it likely won't be created at all.
  18. So im starting this new poll to gather some info for the future of the project. Please give me 5 min of your time! ^^
  19. So, I have "sort of" decided to return to modding scene after a short break, however I am facing difficulties on deciding what would be the first project I'd start. I have the skill, (Some of the)time and patience to do these things, it's just that I can't decide where I would start. Here's a short review of the things I am planning: 1. Fort Restoration Project Most of the forts in Skyrim seem to suffer from damage that the civil war has caused to them, in all simplicity this addition would fix almost all of the walls of forts (minus the ones that are barricaded by certain quests, I don't want to break anything), and generally add some more "Castle-like" feel to those forts. (Flags, torches and such) Quite simple, just takes some time to go through all forts and see if there's something "Fixable". 2. Racial Diversity There's just some things that annoy me, one of those is that there's so few "uncommon" races around. This could somewhat break immersion, but idea would be to replace some of the townsfolk with different race. Dialogue etc. would stay, only race would change. In addition to that I'd create some variants of current races. (example: really old looking elves) 3. Clutter Up Skyrim Second mod I had already made, however my own stupidity when I was creating it kinda ruined it. I made the mod kind-of messy so it would have needed some tweaking before release. (It was working and all, but I should have added some line in the beginning of every new thing I created so it would have been easy to re-use the new stuff) Anyhow, the idea was this: In old RPG's there's tons of clutter you can't steal, those only add ambience and nice, scenic views. Mod's purpose was to make many places look much more "stuffed"/Cluttered. Easy work when done right, but takes just helluva time to go through all the interiors I want to adjust. 4. Spell pack Okay, Skyrim used to be boring and the amount of spells was lame, nowadays there's tons of spell mods thus spell pack is not maybe the "best" option. Though, I still do have some unique thoughts I have not seen anyone else use. *giggles* Ideas: Ice armor, adds literal pieces of ice around your characters. Fancy. Stomp, slam the ground around you, staggering all foes and dealing damage. (Possibly disarms as well?) Tentacly- stuff. a lot of tentacle stuff. 5. Enemies Enhanced Just new idea. I hate couple of things in Skyrim, and one of those is the lack of spells and abilities for enemies. Surely, there's mods that give enemies perks and spells, but some won't work and others are just "limited". What I'd plan is to make certain spell casters unique. For example, Marcurio would be powerful fire mage, and Brelyna Maryon could be Ice/illusion. Also, couple of spell types that would be perfect around the world: > Paralyze > Invisibility - Imagine hagraven that turns invisible and then closes in for melee kill. It's something that would just fit their nature. So mostly this would be something I personally prefer and love, but in the other hand it'd be lore friendly. So no ash spells where those won't belong and so on. Also, abilities for different races. Resistances, new diseases. Variety in creatures. Rat's could be real plaque carriers. (Just look at them, those things are like falling apart already) Answer to poll, and throw in your ideas! This works as sort-of request as well. For example, if the 7. is the one I start working on, I need much more ideas for unique "artifacts".
  20. Good day Nexus! As of recently i started working on some fancy weapons. I'm not sure what would describe them best, so i'll let the screenshots do the talking. For now, these are simply the models. No CK work has been done yet. Now, as you can see, i have based these weapons of the vanilla glass weapons. This has led me to the point to ask you, the community, to tell me what would be best. For this, i have come up with the following two options: 1) I'll give these weapons unique textures based on the vanilla texture and the HD pack texture. This would mean there will be no possibilities for customization other than editing the textures themselves. However, this would make them even more visually distinctive from the normal glass weapons. 2) I will not give these weapons unique textures to make these weapons compatible with all the glass retextures that are hosted on the nexus. This would mean a huge amount of customization is allowed. The downside to this would be that the "physical" parts of the weapons will share their same colour scene with normal glass weapons. Please let me know what you prefer in the poll at the top of the page. Suggestions, tips and feedback are welcome ofcourse. But there will be no guarantees they'll be implemented.
  21. Thanks everyone for using the Boss Creatures mod, I was surprised how much attention it has gotten! Please help me tweak it by answering this poll and leaving comments here about what's wrong with the bosses - they are still in their infancy and lots can be tweaked.
  22. I plan on Making a BoS helmet Mod and can't decide on what the base of it should be! Please do take into mind that option 2 costs money. So there is a chance that if it's the most popular one I still might not go with that option. But theres always a chance :smile:
