The freedom to delete and edit your posts at any time, without penalty, without friction, without permanence — that’s the core of what I’m advocating for. Not usernames. Not ranks. Not points. Not roles. Autonomy. The ability to control your own presence on a platform without being punished for it. That’s a modern, user‑rights expectation, and I’m trying to frame it constructively rather than confrontationally. 1. Username recycling isn’t the real issue. I understand that deleted accounts get renamed to “Deleted{USERID}User” and the original username becomes available again. My concern isn’t about reclaiming someone else’s name — it’s about the feeling of permanence around identity on Nexus. Even if the username can be reused, the identity model still feels rigid and “one‑way” because it’s tied to points, history, and reputation. 2. The points system is what creates that permanence. If points are tied to posts, and deleting posts removes points, then users are effectively discouraged from cleaning up their own history. That’s where the permanence comes from — not the username itself, but the way identity is tied to activity that can’t be freely edited or removed without penalty. 3. That’s why I suggested a flexible “role tag” system. Something users can change at any time, like: Apprentice Explorer Contributor Creator Veteran Mod Author This gives people a way to define themselves without relying on permanent usernames or point‑based identity. It also avoids the problem of points being tied to deletable content. 4. The goal isn’t to replace ranks — it’s to modernize identity. The current ranks are fine, but they’re static and tied to post count. A user‑controlled tag system would give people a sense of identity that isn’t locked to their history or activity level. 5. I’m not requesting a GDPR erasure. I’m only mentioning it because right now, a full data‑deletion request is the only way for a user to completely reset their identity and remove their history. That’s obviously a heavy process for both the user and the staff, and not something anyone wants to rely on for normal identity management. That’s why I’m suggesting lighter, more flexible identity tools — things like user‑controlled role tags or a more modern separation between username, points, and personal history. These would give users more autonomy without needing to resort to something as drastic as a GDPR request. 6. One related idea about user comfort and safety. I once had to remove my avatar because I wasn’t sure if it would be interpreted as NSFW, and it made me feel like I was on thin ice even though I wasn’t trying to break any rules. Have you considered using lightweight AI blurring for avatars the same way the site already blurs adult mod thumbnails? It could simply tie into the existing “Show Adult Content” toggle: blurred for users who have it off visible for users who opt in This would reduce moderation pressure and give users a safer buffer without restricting creativity. It also helps avoid situations where users receive warnings over borderline cases that weren’t intended to break any rules. Overall: I’m looking for solutions that reduce the need for heavy measures like GDPR erasure and give users more control over how they present themselves on Nexus — without adding friction for staff or moderators.

After scanning through many posts on the forums, we are a bit puzzled by why some relevant posts earn no replies. By relevant, we mean the posts seem appropriate to a specific forum. It's a bit sad to see an unanswered relevant post sitting for many weeks with no reply--even if it's NOT one of ours. We certainly appreciate that people may not have the time, nor the inclination, nor the knowledge to elect to reply to posts. I guess what we're asking is this: are there some well-known and community-understood commonalities among why some seemingly relevant posts may go un-replied? As an example, we can't personally reply to all posts, largely because we don't have the knowledge-base, but we do see many posts with zero replies. Community forum and guidelines offer a few explanations, but not all. Thanks for anyone who clarify.

Sorry if this isn't the place to post this but, i'm having a bit of an issue with the forums here. when i post something, like a mod suggestion or respond to another post, whatever i wrote doesn't get saved when the post is posted. the area where my text should be is empty. i hit edit and again the text box is empty like i just clicked on the text box, git space once or twice and then posted that. it just doesn't save what I've written. i have to copy what i wrote, and post the post and if its empty edit it and paste what i wrote again and then save the post, and then it shows up. whats the deal here?

I would like to see the posts that I sent, but I can't find them. I read the information that all the posts are in "My Content" on the forum, but there's only one post I wrote today. Although on the "My Profile" page in the "Active Posts" tab it says 13. The question is, where do I find the other 12?

It looks like something in the formatting of comments can break how all comments after it on the same page are displayed. Can be seen here: https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/3477?tab=posts The comment itself is also rendering oddly, because parts of it are displayed in the box of the parent comment. Example of how this looks for me, in case anything changes: https://imgur.com/h90FgZr

The environment on Nexus posts is getting toxic. Today I posted a mod request to a mod that said it's taking requests and had another user go on some unhinged rant. I doubt I even have to post the persons name as I see them doing the same thing to everyone on roughly 40-50% of the mod pages I visit. There's absolutely no reason Nexus shouldn't have a true block feature. I can't think of another site of this size that doesn't have that feature. I even have the user blocked and all it says is that I'll no longer see their mod's. What difference does that make?

I just found out that a few threads I posted in yesterday are not in My Content, they'd usually pop up about a minute after I post but it's been nearly 10 hours and they are still have no intention of getting there. I'm not sure if that is on my end, since no one else reported anything like that, so I tried all I could remember to rule it out. I cleared my cookies and cache but that had no effect at all, also tried a different browser and got nothing. Even tried a different PC, still nothing. It's a nuisance since I mostly use the forums and now I have to browse through half the forum to find out where I posted in, and that's if I remember in which section the thread was and if it didn't get buried beneath an avalanche of other threads. The browser I'm using is Iceweasel 22.0 (re-branded Mozilla Firefox 22.0 from Debian Project), if that makes any difference at all.

When creating a thread like this, there's a section on the bottom called attach files. Supposedly an option exists for adding an attachment to PM's and posts. I even have a little tool called my media for using past attachments. Yet, I see no option to attach files to anything other than threads, and I shouldn't make a thread every time I need an attachment. So how do I add attachments to posts, threads, or the 'my media' tool without making a thread? Attachment unrelated... thanks in advance for the help!

I am unable to find a way to get a list of links to the posts I made on nexusmods (not the Forums and not Personal Messages). I really tried a lot of things, clicked everything in my profile, checked Nexus FAQs, searched the forum and found the WIKI mostly revolves around itself... Some good advice would really be appreciated, I find this frankly quite frustrating.

I think it'd be a great addition to be able to have a sort of search function in individual mod post forums, that way it'd be easier to search for possible incompatibility problems, or ways they could be solved. It'd be much better than having to individually comb through the post sections till you finally find an answer to your question on page 12.

Currently I'm a "Journeyman" and I have seen many others as well. I'm assuming these are based on post count, and at a higher number of posts you can probably make your own custom title - like many other Forums. My question derives from the aboveã¼is there anywhere that I can find a list of all member titles and corresponding post amounts required? Thanks. - Snow Fox
