The Book Mod Project Book _________________________ Hello, Everyone and welcome to project book. Now while i think we all agree the journal of morrowind was immersive, and felt real, the books of Skyrim defeat the books of the past by tenfold. However how many of us can say we read ALL the books? and how many of us can say we want more? If you, like I can't because quite frankly most of the books were BORING then welcome to project book! What is Project Book?: In it's simplest form it is a book mod. however unlike other book mods YOU can be the writer! how you ask? Write a story, send it to my Gmail address, (see below) and if i like it i will release it in that months bundle of books. If we don't have at least four or five books i will write some to fill that quota. How does the system work?: Very simply. I take the literature you submit then convert that into Skyrim with a custom cover texture, and images in the book! You can then pick them up in the book store of Riverwood. We will release a monthly .ESP update that includes all the new books! Simply replace the esp file with the new one and your set! What type of books?: Generally we want short stories. And when i say short story i mean 5-30k words long. A quick way to get a book rejected is to write about the Dovahkiin of Skyrim because: SPOILER ALERT: In some playthrougs the PC might not be Dragonborn, and even if he is he probably didn't do what you wrote about. So in general keep it to writing about lore friendly characters that you make up! Stay away from already in game characters PLEASE! How can i help?: Good question! I obviously can't write four 20k word stories in a month with my schedule at least so if other budding writers help me it would be appreciated! If you want to include custom textures for your books or illustrations for inside the book that you want me to put in I can do that. Other then that if anyone wants to voice act a book merchant for me and send me some lines I can chuck those in just fine! as for now he will just be a generic voiced Breton. Contact Details: If you want to help start the project or submit your work contact me here at [email protected]

Hey all, I'd like to pitch an idea I've had for some time now. A mod that gives you the option to turn every book in Skyrim, whether it's lore, song, poem, or whatever else, into an audiobook. Basically when you open the book from your inventory, an audio file will play and you'll hear someone reading the book to you. Any modders who want to attempt this can be as flexible as they'd like, but I do have a couple specific ideas. 1. The audio files only play when the book is accessed from the player's inventory, not when they first find it. This is to avoid any annoyance. 2. There could be an option to either have the audio files play only when the book is open, and have the book autoturn pages or the audio files can play constantly until the book is finished, whether or not the book is open. I enjoy reading, I find Skyrim books mostly fun to read, and I have a good mic. I do not have the knowledge or patience to make this a mod, so if anyone is interested in a project like this, HMU and I'd be more than happy to start reading and sending you the files. (first come first served :P)

Why is it that when you read a book in Skyrim time freezes around you? This really annoys me when I'm using mods like Frostfall, Touring Carriages, and Skyrim Heart Rate. For example, with Frostfall, I want to be able to sit in my tent and read a book while I warm up. Or with Touring Carriages, I could read a book on my way to Windhelm. I haven't a clue how hard this would be to make, but any feedback would be appreciated.

Hello every sexy soul reading my request! I have been playing skyrim for a long time, and I really enjoy RP. I don't even know how many mods I have and 90% of them are immersive improving mods like enviromental overhauls, enhanced character edits, clothing, animations, everything that makes the game feel more alive and gives you chans to intigrate more with it. I was wondering if anyone know any mod that makes reading books and letters in Real-time. If you open up a book and see the people and what not moving in the background. As I do a lot of RP, I usually build up a tent and a campfire and sit watching the sun set with a glass of whine or what not, and I would really love to read a book untill the night falls and its time to go to sleep. But as you already know reading compleatly stops time. Thank's for reading

Hey everyone! i got Skyrim not only a week ago and i had a problem since then. to start, after i made my character and wanted to name him, i wasn't able to click on "ok." so i switched to controller. then another thing happened. i am unable to store things anywhere. in bodies, chests, closets, anything. i can only drop them. then fast travel. when i click on any town, village, city, etc, it exits the map and puts me back in the game. then finally books. i can't drop them. i don't know if my character loves them but after i read it, i can't exit. same with letters and such. i have no mods installed, and i am sure that i deleted them all. but just in case, i would like it if someone told me how to fix it. but if anyone can help me with this issue, please help. there is another guy who has the same problem, except it doesn't exit the game. thank you and have a nice day! http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1089583-help-me-bro/

Hi everyone! Scenario: I've just set up my Hearthfire home at Lakeview Manor and have a bard wandering around doing his thing. I ask the bard to play some instrumental music and then sit down in my library for a spot of reading. As soon as I start reading, the game pauses and the bards' music stops. I, personally, can't read in silence and this seems to manifest in the game as well, lol. tl;dr : I'm looking for a mod which stops Skyrim from pausing when you pick up a book and read it. My own Googling has yielded nothing thus far. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, :pirate: Sabbz

Hi! I have been searching for a reading mod that makes the player hold the book in their (visible) hands in first person, manually turning the page with their actual hand. This would of course include time passing normally in the surroundings. I am aware of mods that allow you to see your body in first person, and others that make time pass normally in pause menus etc. I have also tried the aforementioned kind of first person mod together with the idle animation of reading a book, sadly that made the book invisible. The reason I would really love to see this mod made is that I want to start kind of an audio book project, recording myself reading different kinds of books from within the game world, with ambient sounds in the background, an animated first person view of the book being read, as well as superimposed pieces of concept art tied to the story of the book (added in post ofc). Although this is mostly a project for the sake of my own enjoyment and getting a deeper understanding of the lore, it would be a great motivation to actually record it in this kind of way and share it. The idea is that I would also use something like the Lost Library mod to include books from previous games in the series as well. I would love to hear what you all think of this idea, is it conceivable given the sheer amount of books in the game, would it be complicated to make, etc. Thanks you in advance for every bit of feedback!

A mod that allows realistic book reading, compatible with language translation patches and the touring carriages mod, would be worth gold for nerds like me who love reading books with views and long roads. Instead of a blur effect in the background and a book floating in the middle of the screen, A book that can be held with both hands on the right and left sides, and which follows the center point like a weapon when you turn the screen would be better. So I wouldn't miss any mountain sight. Even if it wasn't that detailed, it would be great if there were at least hands on the left and right and the blurry effect in the background was gone.
