  1. Hi everyone, as far as i can tell nobody has made a stalhrim buckler yet i am hoping somebody could help with that. We don't need anything too fancy like leveled lists or even craft-able just a buckler that sits well on the hand at size .60 up to .65 (racemenu scale) that size seems to work well on a female. Ive been wanting someone to make this real Italian weapon/armor piece since 2015, an no one has yet to make one so here im requesting it. a lantern shield is a real historical Italian peace of armor that was a gauntlet, shield, lantern and sword all in one. they typically had a short sword or short pike protruding from the shield below the gauntlet, with or without 2-4 daggers or dirks also protruding from the gauntlet knuckles, the shield would have a lantern inset and a hole exposing the lanterns light in-front of the shields user with a close off opening so it could easily be extinguished. mine doesn't need to be this fancy, id like just a usable shield with similar lantern light, doesn't need to have gauntlet or weapons built in + i dont think making a completely historically accurate lantern shield would be possible in skyrim, so just a shield with inset lantern would be nice. below Ive attached an article to lantern shields in Wikipedia as well a an existing lantern shield image in a museum. as for age well the one in the museum is from 1540 so lantern shields are real and really old. although they were made for night time sparing not for battle, so defensively in comparison to skyrims other shields it would probably be in weight comparable to daedric (15) but have a defense value more comparable to hide shield (15) although i think fifteen is generous and it would probably be closer to eight or nine but that's weaker than any shield currently in skyrim. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lantern_shield
  3. I'd like to keep my shield equipped and switch between using a weapon and healing/destruction. The problem is, equipping a spell by hotkey will, by default, switch out my shield, and leave me with a useless axe while I'm trying to ice spike duel an archer miles away, or take away my ability to shield bash stun while I'm trying to heal with enemies attacking. All my problems would be solved by my shield never leaving my left hand for any reason and just having an axe and 7 spells hotkeyed for use in my right. Can anyone think of a mod or combination of mods that could achieve this? The groups system with SkyUI is not an option, unless anyone knows how to use groups with a controller. I'm terrible at playing games with mouse and keyboard, otherwise I'd just make 8 SkyUI groups that all contain my shield. The Kontrol mod by Vortikai adds hotkeys in a great way, but they all just go into the wrong hand which makes heated combat feel like one of those weird dreams where things go strangely wrong. I'd appreciate any mod recommendations that could help me save Skyrim from the evil forces, rather than getting laughed at while I try to protect my vital organs with a handful of chain lightning.

  7. I've been trying to make a new shield for Oblivion which uses the texture and shape of the Fighters Guild wall decoration. But now that I'm finally making progress, I try to export the shield to a .nif and it doesn't let me. I'm not entirely sure what it means by "'Object' object has no attribute 'face_maps'". Anyone know how to fix this?
  8. hi, I come here to ask someone to make the mod that takes off that floating shield that appears when we're blocking (as if it wasn't obvious). if it's hard to get it off, it could just make its image transparent or something, an on/off switch, whatever. thank you for your attention. floating shild pic
  9. x4 or x8 number of spaceship attack, but allow to place more shield generator, core, arm/ remove construction limiter depending on the spaceship level (or perk).
  10. I am using the visible shield mod and it's great to see shields on the back to keep the immersion. But I don't see any bucklers or smaller shields to go with a scimitar/short sword/spear/mace/etc weapons. Think anyone can scale down some of the existing shields to be smaller?
  11. Hello everybody! Kiling an enemy before (s)he notices your presence is not fighting hence my limitation to these 4 close-combat styles. I would also like to know the reason(s) why you favor one style over the others.
  12. Heya folkes! First time posting here but I feel almost desperate! If any good armor/Weapon modder out there feels like taking on a little (hopeful) challenge! I think it'd be awesome as hell if any of you lot could make some variations of the For Honor Warlord. I'm a hardcore Nord player and that shield and armor would make my life so much better!
  13. I adore the Yautja from the Predator and Alien Vs Predator movies. It would be amazing to have: Yautja Armor with mesh stuff. Armor would also include the loincloth looking stuff , leg armor and gauntlets. Even though they do not wear anything on their feet it would only be practical for humans. Biomasks: of different styles. They can have the 3 triangular dots to aim a plasma caster, have infrared vision and also act as a gas mask. They can be upgradeable to include these features at an armor workstation. Dreads: Either as a hairstyle or attached to the Biomask Tattoos/Body Marks: Yautja tribal tattoos or designs. Definitely the blooded forehead mark. Jewelry: Necklaces, bracelets, or a chain around the waist made of teeth and small bones/skulls Med Kits: Predator Hunter/Warriors carry a medkit with them to synthesize things they find around them such as wood, plant, fungi, ect into medicines and first aid supplies like bandages. Weapons: Wristbracer with blades, spears, shurikens, swords, combat discs, plasma caster on the shoulder. Alien(Xenomorph) head shields would be a nice touch. New Monsters: River Ghosts and other things from their home world could be added. Player Home or Settlement: Retexture walls, floors or other things to make it look more like a tribal Predator den. This could be put into the game in a kind of lore friendly way like people from the institute having contact with the Yautja in the past. So in a place in the institute you find documents as well as this stuff or recipes/blueprints to make it. This could seriously be OP so some raw materials for creation or upgrade could be made more rare or something take a higher level to make it to balance things out. If this idea for a mod and whoever suggested the Xenomorph-Deathclaw mod became a reality, that would be a dream come true!

  15. So I'm a fledgling modder and one of my first attempts was simply to modify the texture of a shield. I unpacked the texture bsa using bsa commander, then opened the dds file with paint.net and just drew colors on to see how the texture lays out, saved it as a dds, and then saved it in oblivion/data/texture/custom/shield.dds. Then I opened the shield nif file with NifSkope and set the texture ('purple flower') to that path. I then deleted the reference to my hard drive so it just reads texture/custom/shield.dds. Finally, I added it into a container via construction set and went into the game (enabled it via NMM) and grabbed the shield. The texture showed up! .... but if I go into the menu it is a black shield that does not move even as my character removes. Also let me know if there was another thread. First time using this site and I was struggling to refine the search to only the section about modding and not just problems users are having with already made mods. Thanks in advance. I'll attach the file but please know it looks horrible and I haven't cleaned any dirty edits because I'm not releasing it and am just using it to familiarize myself with the tools :P You can instantly fast travel to the house and inside the container in the middle of the room is the shield.
  16. I've run into a weird glitch with a shield mesh. I'm using Mod Organizer and I installed this Mod recently. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/61818/? I installed the Mod with its built in DualSheath option in its installer. I also use PerMa (including the Pre PaMa Patches). I also use ASIS and DualSheath Redux, I have generasted the MergePatch in TES5Edit and also a Bashed patch in Wrye Bash for leveled lists. I also made Patches for PerMa, ASIS and Dual Sheath respectively. Now about the glitch: I can see the correct Shield Mesh of the Mod above as long as I have it equipped and drawn. I also see the Mods shield mesh during the unequip animation. However on my back I then have the vanilla ebony shield. This is my current Load Order: https://modwat.ch/u/metaforce I checked my mod priorities and the Mod above correctly overwrites the meshes provided by DualSheath Redux (the ones for the ebony shield on my back)
  17. I've encountered in my new playthrough the biggest issue with using Light Armor: All the good shields are Heavy. The thought came to mind that, since Shields all naturally fall under two categories in Skill - Heavy/Light and Block - maybe it would make sense for a mod to unify the shield types into one seperate thing? So, instead of a shield being marked as Heavy or Light, it's just a shield. Like. Shield. It doesn't need clarification between Heavy and Light. And I feel like this could probably be done through scripts so individual items don't need to be modified. What I'm asking for, TL;DR, is a mod that marks all items flagged as 'Shield' as the armor class 'Shield' so it does nothing to skills and stuff. Pretty please. Pretty pretty please.
  18. Dawnguard armour looks bangin'. It also has passable stats,if you spec into smithing... And why wouldn't you,if you use weapons and armour? However,something irks me like nobody's business; Despite the Dawnguard having heavy armour sets,they don't have a single heavy shield. This is a problem for anyone who wants to play a Dawnguard-aligned character who uses shields,one-handed weapons,and heavy armour. So,here's what I want,if it's at all possible; 1) Basic heavy Dawnguard shields. This is more-or-less the most basic aim. They should be equal to the shield of whatever material the rest of the heavy Dawnguard armour is equal to. I hear it's either Dwemer or Plate. The heavy shield should also retain its unique powers,as well; Dealing five extra damage whenever you smash a vampire's face in with it. 2) The ability to change the Rune Shield's armour type. The Dawnguard Rune Shield is one-of-a-kind. If the player has a means to change the shield to the armour type (Light or Heavy) of their choice,that would allow more builds to use this excellent shield. Of course,its powers should be intact; Ten extra bash damage to bloodsuckers,while also erecting 10 point Sun Damage cloak whenever the shield is raised,at the cost of stamina. 3) Compatibility with Perkus Maximus. Yeah,this is pretty big. Perkus Maximus more-or-less hits every single aspect of Skyrim. For a mod like this to be compatible,it needs to have certain things done to it. Unfortunately,I don't know what said things are; At the very least,you'll need to make several different versions of each item; One for Basic,one for Reforged,and one for Warforged. I realise this is a tall order,but if anyone is willing to make this mod,I'd be crazy thankful.
  19. Ladies, and Gents, I am looking for a modder/modders willing to undertake an armor set mod, and shield mod. The armor set will be of Archangel Imperius from Diablo 3. The shield is just a shield from D3 I like a lot, and I think will go good with the armor. I am not looking for his wings, or halo, just armor set. I'd also like to have a slightly adjusted version made. Not much difference, just the armor and shield colors, the part on the back of the helmet designed more like 2 wings. The armor and shield I'd like to be craftable, able to upgrade and enchant, I'd say just above Ebony stats. I am really hoping to see this come to Skyrim, and I think others would also enjoy it a great deal. I am willing to donate heavily to whoever is willing to undertake this mod for me.   20. Tldr: port skyrim items, textures and buildings into fallout 4 client while keeping settlements system. I am eagerly willing to help anywhere i can. Long story: So I just checked to see whether or not the geck for fo4 was released and saw that bethesda has recycled the tesv creation kit for it. I will admit I put all gaming aside for awhile as the past few months have seen long hours of studying and research projects culminate in my long awaited degree in History become a reality. However, now begins the real challenge of finding a serious job. In any case I'm currently forced into a type of winter vacation and I've come up with an idea! I've grown bored with the likes of warband and total war. They lack a certain depth that bethesda games always seem to have. I love fallout 4 but as a history nerd i sometimes wish it had a medieval setting (striking similarities between dark age europe and post-apocalyptic Massachusetts btw). Also, the countless hours i spent in Skyrim had me wanting one final feature: customizable settlements and a dynamic kingdom. In fact I got my hopes up with hearth fire and when that let me down i even tried learning scripting and making a skyrim mod to allow buildable castles at Helgen (i failed at scripting). FO4 has the settlement/kingdom and crafting systems i dreamed about for skyrim but not my beloved swashbuckling nordic beast-man! Now there is a quasi-medieval mod for FO4 but that modder seems to have gone the lore-route of in the future things become medieval-esque again in a sort of circular timeline. That's not exactly what I have in mind. Idea 1: since it would probably be easier and quicker than starting from scratch, transfer in weapons, armors, items and corresponding textures from skyrim into fo4 and smooth it out as much as possible as far as dialogue and plasma gun references. Also, while keeping the settlement system from FO4, make it feel more TESV lore-friendly. For example changing chainlink fence textures to wattle fence and replacing tato crops with leeks, etc. I can't imagine that this would be impossible, and I'm sure the fact that the two games use the same creation kit can only help the matter. Of course I would be absolutely willing to help in any way I can, in fact I am going to try to start this myself but i have very little experience with any serious modding. I suppose this post is more of a request for help and/or guidance and also to see if anyone else has an interest in the idea. Idea 2: Of course bolting skyrim parts into fallout's engine is a ginormous project in and of itself, I know. But I would be remiss if I didn't mention an even loftier goal: historical accuracy. It is important to remember that bethesda is going to release the next elder scrolls game in the future and it will undoubtedly have the settlement system from fallout if not an improved version. Of course this would mean that the aforementioned port/mod would instantly lose a lot of popularity if it had any and would become effectively obsolete. With that in mind what if there was a longer-term development goal? Perhaps this may be a less interesting idea among other gamers and also likely impossible to do completely, but hey, i shoot for the stars. I have a serious interest in realistic games and i suppose a respectable group of people do as well, given the success of the genre. So what if there was a mod for fallout that made it into a realistic medieval world? No dragons, no spells or magic. Just a realistic map with various little villages of peasant farmers and men-at-arms linked to one another via routes of trade and common enemies in a feudal landscape plagued by the constant threat of random attacks by rival kingdoms (factions) or marauding bands of exiles, criminals and raiders from the wilderness (raiders). Of course in order for it to be truly accurate there would need to be some loose parameters in place as far as time period and location (e.g. 14th century england, etc.) So that there aren't samurais fighting conquistadors or something. Not to toot my own horn again, but if a $38,000 university degree is good for nothing else, I can certainly decipher what is and is not historically accurate for a specific place and time in history and I can help in that capacity as well as historical context for a given time (eg pre-columbian european cuisine, etc). Maybe this is stupid or it won't really be fun for anyone else, I don't know. Just another idea, more of a history-nerd project dream of mine. As stated before, if this seems doable or interesting please let me help! I really want to be a part of it if it turns into anything in any way i possibly can.   21. im not sure if anyone as ever asked for this or not nor if anyone has ever thought of this or not but what i would love is a mod that i can instead of thorwing a grande i can throw whatever weapon i have in my hands atm. this might sound really stupid to some people because you might be thinking why thorw a loaded gun at someone over shoting them or you might be thinking of how stupid it would be to try to throw a shotgun in real life.. but thats not how it should be used, think about when youre 1st starting out in the game you run from cover to cover picking up cheap gun after cheap gun and droping them in fight because you dont have anymore ammo for it, but what if once you run dry you throw the pistol at someones face while you pull out another weapon. I don't think this should work for rifles and up but on pistols and knives this would be cool and I could and would do it in real life if I needed too so why not in game? also itll be nice if it works for some other melee weapons because it can be done in real life aswell it might not be the best idea too but it can be done, I know people whom use shields would likely love this idea because I started to use one and that's why I now want this mod if anyone can do it. so please if anyone thinks this is a good idea say so, or if you have any idea of how to get this to work say so maybe then someone else will make it happen. anyway thanx for reading
  22. Replace parry button while two handing to shift grip to one handed grip. You now hold your weapon in your right hand and cannot attack with it, left hand is available to use with any magic or a shield. Press left click to reapply two handed grip, shield goes onto your forearm but has no gameplay effect. Small animation time between switching grips to balance it vs one handed combat. If anyone has played Max Payne 3, its similar to the realistic way you have to hold large guns in your off hand while shooting a pistol, as he doesnt have a magnetic back like other shooter protagonists. As an unrelated note this is my first post on nexus and the way the curser operates is really frustrating, everytime i click back in the paragraph to fix something it has to highlight a letter, i cant just add new letter or words it has to replace something! is there some option i have that does this, its awful. Thanks for listening if you got this far :)

I reinstalled oblivion and there is this weird glitch when using a sword and shield that after a swing of the sword the shield will glitch into the side of view for a brief second before going back. Is there any way to fix this? its been there every time I have played, I just want to see if there is a fix.
  24. Ther is a script that has been developed, and posted to the Nexus that allowes for a follower to "transform" between human form, and an item, or weapon form. This can be demonstrated to great effect with the underrated follower Anumeha, by Undivide, or J.A.P.F on the Nexus. This is a unique follower in the sense that this gimmick really doesn't seem to be used anywere else. I would like to change that, though I lack the time, and skill to do so myself. I would like to request a follower that uses Undivide's script for at least one follower, if not a living armory for the dragonborn. The first one I would like to request is a shield. Given how Skyrim loves it's shield maidens, it seems only natural. A tanky, busty girl seems like a good pick for this. As far as other options, A dagger would be a neat change of pace. A sample idea could hide her in a dwarven dagger, and she is shorter than normal, possibly equivalent to Poet Follower, and dressed in golden colored armor to give the impression of a dwarven girl trapped in her dagger. In truth, the ideas for this are as limitless as the number of followers that can exist, or be created.   25. Is there a mod where u can not only keep ur active shield on the back? Let's say u have a fav shield which should be visible on ur back permanently while using 2 maces in battle. U sheath and un sheath ur dual weapons but the shield should stay on ur back and (would be totally great) block that side like it would be active. I know there are mods out there with which u can place ur weaps on ur back like DSR and so but is what i request even possible? I mod 2 but never done something with the skeleton or scripts.
