  1. The only mod I have seen that had any snapping vault lights (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17174/?) did it by adding custom snap points to the lights and walls. That is a lot of work considering the number of vanilla vault pieces, and it won't work with custom walls like https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16896/? without a patch. My approach is to modify only the lights by adding already defined wall snap points to them (P-VaultRoom01 or the -Dif variant). I already tried doing this on my own, unfortunately I couldn't make it work properly. Sometimes I heard the snapping sound and the direction snapped, but the height and x,y coordinates did not. I also replaced the collision object with the one in Meshes > DLC06 > Interiors > Vault > Workshop > VltWorkShopROOMCommonFloorCeiling01.nif (and translated the light accordingly). I couldn't figure out where the bounding box is stored. Adding the WorkshopMustBeSnapped keyword in the CK didn't do the trick either. Resources I have looked at already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5h-YSZszdI https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4130180-tutorial-connection-points-with-nifskope-for-wall-items/ https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5974868-cpa-snap-points-not-working-help/ https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10112/? https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3606240-working-with-snapping-nodes-aka-bsconnectpoints-cpa/ https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4707155-workshopoverride-avifs/ I shared my idea so maybe someone with more experience in FO4 modding can point out the step(s) I'm missing, or make their own snapping lights based on this approach. Either is fine for me.
  2. I'm wondering how or if there is a mod for this or even a way to do it so that it aligns perfectly with the wall so that I don't spend 20 minutes (I have some serious ocd) only to find out that it 's a little too acutely angled to the wall so that 4 minutes of building later I find that I can't place anything else because it clips with the wall. I thought of this post as the ABSOLUTE last resort, and i also understand that this must not be easy. As soon as I'm done writing, I'm probably going to keep trying and then immediately download the CK so as to maybe fix on my own. I don't even care if it's inside the wall but it'd sure be nice to have some hair left after trying this for nearly an hour already. (50 minutes and counting)
  3. So after sinking countless hours and evenings after work I finally had my vault about done and ready for interior decorating. So I says to myself "Kinda dark in here." And so the mind numbing task of placing lights had begun. Making sure they were all in a straight line. Well of course they are never centered or straight. Cause why would anything ever be that simple? Well unfortunately my modding skills are non-existent and I don't even know where I would begin. Seems like it would be simple to add snap points to the lights and on things such as the rooms or hallways. Anyone know if this is a feasible mod to make?
  4. For some reason the platform won't snap to the big thing. I have no idea what's causing this, I sided with the Brotherhood and went to build it but it wouldn't snap, I looked on some forums and people said that you should remove the rug, so I did and same thing. Went to test it with the Minutemen but again the same problems. I have no idea how to fix this, maybe to skip the quest via consoles but still even when I tried it it didn't work. http://i.imgur.com/6Y1oDIn.jpg
  5. It's a very simple concept basically a mod that adds snap points to all vanilla beds, I did take a look in FO4EDIT to see if I could do it myself, but I couldn't find the appropriate values to tweak this is how beds tend to up with vanilla, non snapping http://i.imgur.com/Tm5SURN.png?1 this is how it could end up if beds could snap together http://i.imgur.com/AhnZdms.png?1
  6. I'm making a poster for the workshop, but even if it looks fine in Nifskope, I can't get the thing vertical in the game. It stays flat like a rug, yet turns green in walls. I used an existing sign nif, though I had to rotate it from landscape to portrait. Even if I rotate the NiNode in Nifskope to compensate, it still lays flat in the game. Does this have anything to do with the Translate settings I've seen in FO4Edit?

  8. Hello. Now I love creating bases of all shapes and sizes, all of it, Even running conduits to make everything look nice and tidy. But I Cant be the Only person who gets frustrated by not being able to line them up so perfect. So not sure if this has been done or asked about, Cant find it any where. I want to know if it is possible to mod the 4 way conduit (This thing) so it can snap to any of these floors kind of like this. I thought with having it snap to the centre top or bottom would be easier than at the edges, And from there you could snap all other conduits to it. I Have tried myself in Nifscope but to no avail, Not even sure if that is the right program to use. I hope this is doable and not too much to ask. I would even try again to do it myself if someone would be willing to give me some tips on what to do. Anyway thanks for taking the time to have a look here, And if I can give any more details please let me know.
  9. I've searched but haven't been able to find a mod that does this. Is there a mod out there that will allow players to "snap" an object to the desired area (primarily walls) and then rotate that object along the snapped axis? For instance, I place down my wall, I prepare another wall by snapping it to the first, however before "final placement" it allows me to then rotate that wall to say... a 45 degree angle from the first wall (barring any illegal placement issues) while staying "snapped" to the first wall. Upon pressing the confirmation button again I would then have a nice angled turn. it would allow me to create more "rounded" areas. I know there are several convoluted ways of currently achieving this but they are ridiculously time consuming and frustratingly maddening sometimes. Is there a mod out there that does this? or will I have to wait for the GECK?
  10. Would it be possible to make a mod where by you can designate a and or any key to toggle the building snap on/off when placing walls? Also could you make it possible to place walls and other objects in the water?
  11. Just a button or something to toggle snapping on and off and to inately allow your structures to clip. These two together would give SO MUCH more freedom when building
  12. Many new foundations have been introduced by great mod systems in recent months and years. SimSettlements and its current sequel are just two examples. All those foundations and blocks and, let's be blunt, the vanilla ones need snap points including stacking. This... is a sanity measure. I'm sure there's many a man with their own horror story collection, so I'll leave it there.
