Do they own you? Usernames are a permanence, a permanence I cannot allow! Do you know how many Colemans there are in the world? Much like how Messages on NexusMods Messenger shouldn't be so permanent, neither should usernames and or gamertags, name yourself what you want. Were I to find someone with my exact same name as me I would be curious, so I would select the account to see just how similar or different our accounts are, there's only so much a person can mimic and it's those few similarities that accounts should focus on when creating an account, and I'm sure the person who owns the website can know for sure who's who. Does anyone else have an idea of what one could do to keep track of account info, either here on NexusMods or on any other account? No more permanent usernames, no more permanent gamertags, free naming for all accounts! What about location tracking? Facial ID? Payment method? Surely there has to be something better than typing a bunch of letters and numbers in trying to make a name, only for the account owner to hold it permanently.

Hello, I've been on this site for 5 years now and I've kinda standardized on a different name than the one I used to sign up, at least when it comes to games and game related content. I'd like to know if there's a way to change your name whether it be formal request or "find the button that says change name, numb nuts". If not that's ok... not like its killing me to use this name here, just not what I'd like to use these days since my gaming name varies from my Nexus name. Hi all So i am fairly new to the nexus and have just gotten around to navigating the forum and mod download sections. Long story short... I was wondering if there would be any way to get my username to match my Bethesda's (GECK) username... (id be willing to delete my account and start form scratch if need be) At the moment the only thing i can think of is possibly changing my current "jsicks" account's e-mail address to a different (barley used e-mail) then creating a new account with the correct username linked to the original e-mail that i am currently using. ***However, before i attempt anything i was wanting to ensure i wouldn't be breaking any rules and honestly, i was hoping there could be a way that a moderator would be able to assist me in changing the username so that i would not have to go through all the trouble... *I would just create a new account using a different e-mail however, i would like to have all my modding contacts sent to my current e-mail address... I completely understand if im basically SOL and need to request an account deletion. *Also, sorry if this has been asked before Thanks for your time, Jay

I've produced a couple of mods and hope to continue more, but i've realised that my username is barely even pronounceable. I was really looking for a name change as i'm hoping to make a small reputation on this brilliant site :smile: If a change is possible, i would like to have: nonk -no caps btw

Look, I know this is going to sound stupid and I probably know the answer but I wanted to ask just in case. :confused: Is there any way that I can change my username? :ninja: I made this account in like 5th or 6th grade, now it's years later, and I absolutely hate the username I picked. Hi all, So in my account settings it mentions a username (WatchDoge24) that is not my username. Before that it was also mentioning another username that it wasn't mine. After many refreshes, logins and logouts, the "WatchDoge24" is still there. Screenshot below. Any idea why is this happening?

So, I know that this is a hot topic and a much requested feature both on the website and here on the forums, and I have come to understand that the reason that you can't do this is that the username is tied to the direct identification of the account, so to change it you'd basically need to rip everything up from the roots and everything would ridiculous mess, etc. etc., aka. it's impossible. Naturally the easy way is to make a new account, less screwing-up-ings of the system that way. My suggestion/question is if it'd be possible to have a separate value set as a nickname, which would be what shows in posts and such, and that the registered username is only related to the identification of the account in the database. (I'm thinking similar to how Steam have their SteamID's.) I know I've seen websites before where you do register with a username, which later cannot be changed, but they have the option to change your visible name. Another thing I kind of like is when there are timed periods for name changes, like only once every year, half year, or three months. I think it's a convenient compromise to avoid spam-like changes of usernames. I do realize that this might have been in discussion before, and if this is an already addressed issue, I do apologize for the unnecessary post. Thanks. :)

I joined the nexus about a year ago I think and I have come up with a better username since that I would love to have! Edit: Or would a change of the username require to close this account and make a new account with the new username? I don't want to do that, since I want to keep all my uploaded pictures and my file on my account.

Hello, nice people on NexusMods. I am having trouble with logging into my account since I unintentional logged me out from NexusMods site. I am STILL LOGGED IN in this Nexus Forum but not on NexusMods.com site. I get always error messages that user name or password are not correct. I am sorry I did not know where to open this topic. If it is on wrong place, I am very sorry for that.

I was wondering if an admin could help me out, this account was set up by an old friend of mine, and he chose "Mcspinny", but i want to change it to "J3RICHO", I was wondering if there was any way to change it?
