  1. Hey so i recently uploaded my 1st mod collection for Fallout 3 , i wanted to update it cuz i removed a mod that was causing fps drops . I go to workshop on vortex , but there is no option to edit my collection at all . It just says add . Anything I can do about this ?
  2. I have been watching all kinds of tutorials on this and none of them show me the proper way to install SKSE64 with vortex. The guide on Nexus Mods appeared very helpful at first. But in the video the instructor was installing a script extender for fallout 4. I don't know if that game just functions differently with vortex, but anyways. In the video the guy literally clicks the notification that the script extender isn't installed, so he does via vortex and its done in seconds. With Skyrim Special Edition I get that notification but it takes me to the silverlock.org website to do it manually. So I figured that's what I'm going to have to do. The second part of the tutorial covers this too. In the video he extracts it to his desktop then drags it to the drop box in vortex. When I try to do that, it tells me directories are not supported. Ok so how do I make it whatever vortex wants in the drop box? I'm lost
  3. Trying to sort plugins by selecting a group results in a red sccreen with a sad face and text "Failed to render". To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Go to Pluings tab. Go to sort by Group. Select any group. See error (full red screen with sad face and text "Failed to render") Expected behavior Plugins tab should only show plugins tied to thier group. Screenshots Platform OS: [Windows 11] Vortex Version [1.16.2] Additional context 1.15.1 works without issues. Any version above 1.15.1 does not work.
  4. Vortex enabled mods dont works because the game folder its not te correct, Vortex default game folder it's not DarkSoulsII.exe folder. By default, the DarkSoulsII.exe are in the folder "...\Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin\Game\" but Vortex try to instal mod in "...\Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin\" I think you should be change game folder to the correct path. Thanks.
  5. Collection curators already tell users to avoid Vortex's "update" feature, and to just re-add the collection to a new profile. This is obviously not good for users who want to add their own mods and configurations on top of a collection (they're usually told to make a private collection they can re-enable on the new profile -- complicated expectation for most collection users). When updating mods using the app's update option, Vortex gives users gives the option to skip removal or view mods at this step. Chosing EITHER of those, rather than confirmation, will skip the removal and lead to duplicate mods, basically bricking that profile for SDV unless they want to go through and try to fix it. It's a bad option to give and creates a bad experience -- if they choose to update, they've chosen to update, it shouldn't be giving this option imo. Collection users regularly report that optional mods self-disable after updating, requiring them to re-enable. We have been trying to work around this by adding instructions to disable the collection in the mods panel and then re-enable with recommended mods selected, and then to disable any mods as necessary. Its a lot of extra steps when it feels like the mod manager should be able to maintain their selections tho, and absolutely causes people to think something has failed. It seems to help if they remove the collection (not mods/archive, just the poster), then go to the website, and add collection from there, but if they don't remove the old poster from the collection panel first, it can skip downloading optional to the new profile w/o prompting the user. Conflicts flagged by the creator look like errors to end-users -- I have two farms included in my collection, one for backwards compatibility. I have instructions that the user should select between them, and they are flagged so that they cannot be used together (because users do not read) -- if they are used together it creates bad lag. I've had "mod conflict" reported as a bug multiple times now. There is also no way in the UI for the conflict for users to resolve it, they have to either have the right column enabled AND know which icon to look for, or memorize the involved mods -- this is a bad user experience.
  6. So I just noticed that a mod I use has both BA2 and loose file versions. I currently have the loose files one. Can I uninstall that and replace it with the BA2 version in the middle of a save? Can the reverse be done as well? Thank you.
  7. Hey guys, I have a bit of a problem: I wanted to install Vortex, but it requires me to have the following: - .NET 6.0+ (after clicking on the provided link and installing, it still gives me that popup) - Windows 10 or above (I run Win11 and even if I download the Win10 2022 Update/Version 22H2, i can´t run it, because, I have Win11) Someone got an idea how to fix it?
  8. So I'm trying to install mods for Assassin's Creed mirage that's through Ubisoft connect, I have 20 mods installed, and it's the first time trying to play a game that's through Ubisoft connect with mods and every time I launch the game through vortex keeps saying unable to load library dbdata.dll. After looking around online its saying that it's mostly a security issue, and so I gave full permission when I right-click on that file also went to my antivirus to manage exceptions and added that file to allow exceptions and tried to launch the game again but still the same thing and I tried right-clicking on vortex and would click on run as administrator and now vortex won't even launch. Anyone know what's going on?
  9. when i put mods, disable mods, enable mods, delete mods on a game it appears a massage that failed to deploy mods and the reason says dest already exists. code: EEXIST and when i click on details it says this: dest already exists. dest already exists. dest already exists. 10. Greetings. I've been trying to install one of the collections (Gate to Sovngarde) for Skyrim SE but encountered 800+ "failed to install dependency" errors. Followed installation guide on YouTube (Gate To Sovngarde - Installation Guide for Skyrim Collection) created by collection author - JaySerpa, but he labeled them as one that'll disappear after installation (which doesn't happen in my case). Tried searching for solution in GTS troubleshooting guide (https://gatetosovngarde.wiki.gg/wiki/Troubleshooting), but it didn't help (see a linked screenshot). Error message says that Vortex tries to access a downloaded mod which actually doesn't exist (haven't been downloaded). Which results in a loop: you run Vortex to finish installation > it checks for dependencies > encounters 800+ errors > starts mods deployment > stops installation unfinished (50% mods missing). After that I tried contacting moderators from GTS discord server, but they labeled it as an error on Vortex's end which is tied to a recent update. So here I am. Please help if you have a solution. Other info: Vortex version - 1.15.2. Game purchased from Steam.
  11. This has been driving me crazy because I do the steps I need and it keeps giving me the same error repeatedly. Maybe someone smarter than me knows whats going on.
  12. Help please! I'm on Vortex 1.15.2 and currently modding Fallout 4 Old Gen GOG version. I used Windows Backup because my Chrome profiles got corrupted. Afterwards, Vortex wouldn't deploy my mods because "The operating system has reported an error without details when accessing (readme.txt in the Data folder of Fallout 4). This is usually due the user's environment and not a bug in Vortex. Please diagnose your environment and then retry." After some Googling, I learned that, apparently, having cloud backup services active at the same time as Vortex is bad. Hence the error message. So I unlinked my PC from OneDrive and now my mods have deployed without any issue. Is there any way for OneDrive and Vortex to co-exist? Especially since neither Vortex nor the Fallout 4 installation folder are included in OneDrive's default scope.
  13. Wouldn't it be nice if the desktop shortcut of profiles by vortex also launches the game with that profile on , other than just opening the profile because why not make it a single click and everything is automated . efficiency is key ,wouldn't you agree? . i spoke with a moderator and seems like it wasn't done because the deployment of mods is necessary , but it is possible though if adding or creating a command for waiting time or checking for deployment checks done and then automatically launching the game too after its done.
  14. Hi all, I've been very late to the world of Nirn, but very quickly fell into the modding rabbit-hole. The challenges have been many, the confusion and sometimes frustration pervasive, and the learning significant and still ongoing. Still, I have wished that someone provided a concise overall guideline of sort for how to approach, what to install, how to create a foundation for mods to be added to my build, what options were out there, et cetera. Or at least that if such a resource existed, that I would have found it. And seen the many questions so many members of our community have, I feel I am not alone in this feeling. Provided that I have a tendency to take notes, after a few years of playing around with mods I came to think that perhaps my notes -with little editing to make them more understandable/palatable- could be the leaflet I wished I had back when. So, in the spirit I have found here, I decided to share this learning take-away of mine. Please keep in mind that this is all this is, my personal take away shared in the hope that it may be useful. P.S. In the forum section I have also posted a BodySlide introductory guide with pictures. Cheers Modding Skyrim - images.docx
  15. Went to open up vortex, and it was signed out. Clicked to sign in, it brings up the browser to authorize vortex from my nexus mods account and it just endlessly loads "please click "authorise" on the website" even though I have already done it. It just will not let me login to my account on the vortex software. Have tried on both firefox and chrome with no luck.
  16. TL;DR vortex can't seem to figure out how or where to apply a new staging folder even when I add one manually Here's some of the errors This error REALLY pisses me off because yeah no s#*! it doesn't exist I f*#@ing MOVED it
  17. It just has to be compatible with Old Gen PC. I know of CigaretteInMouth but that's it. There seems to be a lot so I don't know which ones are still good in 2025, if at all.
  18. Not entirely sure what happened to cause it but for some reason there is just big empty spaces where the infomration for notifications, plugins and mods should be. All I did was update vortex and delete old files so not sure what could have caused this. Besides those 2 things the only other thing I did before was install a collection for Skyrim but it didn’t break until after the update. I've already tried reinstalling vortex, Restarting my computer, installing an older version of vortex and messing with any settings that sound like they mightve done something but nothing. Somebody please help.
  19. I remember reading before that one of the disadvantages of Vortex compared to MO2 is that, even after a mod gets uninstalled, it could still leave a copy or some data behind in the installation/staging folder. Whereas, in MO2, the mod doesn't directly make a copy in the install folder or something like that. Is this true? If so, how do I delete the leftover data?
  20. hope this is the right place to ask this, or at least that yall can direct me to a better spot, but i genuinely have no idea what to do here. sorry if this is a stupid question, im new to using vortex and i dont know a lot about this kinda thing. i dont think smapi is open, and if it is i have no clue where to find it?? context: i opened it and saw an alert that i needed to update smapi, so i just followed the link to dowload it, and then afterwards this popped up. thats all i did.
  21. Hello. Some of my plugins have a little button next to them that says "mark as regular" or "mark as light". What is this? Should i do anything about it?
  22. Game: Cyberpunk 2077 V2.31 from Steam Vortex version: 1.15.2 Mod collection in question: https://www.nexusmods.com/games/cyberpunk2077/collections/wbxylp Mod in question (but there are several from the above collection) https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/12269?tab=files Hi all, I tried searching the forum but no matter the search term I keep getting zero results, so here I am. I'm trying to run mods on Cyberpunk 2077 using Vortex and have been mostly successful. However, when I downloaded a few collections of mods into Vortex I received a LOT of prompts from Vortex saying it couldn't identify the mod in question and was placing it in the staging folder AKA the Fallback Installer prompt. Initially, before I changed the setting in Vortex the collections would just auto-install their mods which didn't seem wise so I eventually figured out how to disable that feature in settings. Now, I've got most mods working via Vortex automatically, but in the CET Conflict Begone window I get the below info stating a bunch of mods can't be found. And I suspect some of them are the ones that I was shown a fallback installer prompt for. I tried out the 3 "trash begone" mods (in the screenie) and it turned out the bugs and floating debris ones (2nd and 3rd in the screenshot) just needed enabling in Vortex. I don't have any other collections currently enabled in Vortex as I'm sure that would cause conflicts. Vortex reports no mod conflicts despite what the Conflict Begone window says. I found that neither of those mods are in that collection but from a different collection that I downloaded, so they shouldn't be trying to load in the first place. The 1st Trash Begone mod IS in this collection, it is enabled and deployed. It's also in the staging folder. I tried copying it to the game folder manually but that didn't take it off the list in the screenshot whereas the other 2 trash begone mods did get removed from the list after enabling them. I've tried completely removing and redownloading it in Vortex but no dice. Please could someone enlighten me as to what I'm doing wrong here?? Should I just start over with a fresh install of the game and Vortex and turn off auto-install before downloading anything? I'd really like to avoid that as those downloads took ages even on premium!
  23. Asking cause I'm not sure if Goodfeels suffers from the same bug that Codsworth does.
