Business as Mission (BAM) is a way of engaging in God’s work through everyday business. It uses sustainable, ethical enterprises to create jobs, build relationships, and reflect Christ’s love in practical ways. Through business, people are empowered, communities are strengthened, and the gospel is lived out in word and action.

TRANSFORM LIVES THROUGH SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT!

One of the ways BAM comes to life is through Small Business Development (SBD), where meaningful work creates lasting impact in local communities.

The purpose of EFM SBD  is to empower evangelical Friends churches worldwide by providing comprehensive training to equip pastors, evangelists, and church planters with the essential skills needed to develop and implement successful ministry through business. This powerful model not only supports ministry but also opens new doors to reach communities for Christ.

UPCOMING SBD EVENTS

This list is expected to grow as many other Evangelical Friends around the world request SBD training for their ministry leaders, because it is a growing need, particularly as EFM launches new works with the Luke 10 Initiative.

• EFC-Rwanda training completed January 2006
• EFC-Nepal training scheduled March 2006
• Scheduling SBD training with EFC-Bhutan and EFC-India in fall 2026
• Scheduling training with EFC-Bangladesh in early 2027
• Scheduling SBD Training of Trainers with EFC-Rwanda in early 2027
• EFC-Burundi requesting SBD training
• EFC-India requesting SBD training for other groups
• EFC-Mexico SBD work continues and may need further training or coaching

WHY DO WE PARTNER WITH GLOBAL DISCIPLES IN SBD?

SBD isn’t just a ministry strategy. It’s a way to connect with communities with a lasting, powerful impact:

	Business creates daily opportunities to build relationships and share the Gospel with those who do not know him.
	Church planters can support themselves and their families through business, removing the need to raise outside support.
	Those with business experience can use their skills on the mission field to build God’s kingdom.
