Global Accessibility Awareness Day is a virtual accessibility event on Thursday, May 21, 2026 aimed at engaging in conversation, thinking, and learning about access and inclusion. This year’s event is sponsored by the University of Minnesota, the University of Illinois system, and the University of Michigan. The year’s theme, “Design, Develop, Deliver”, is about refining your digital accessibility skills. It’s about making accessibility an integral part of everything we do—from the way we communicate, design, and innovate, to how we create a more equitable future for everyone. The event is organized by a volunteer group of dedicated University employees from the sponsoring institutions.
