The Many Faces of Love
This broken, lost, modern world cries out for Love.
Our Heart knows that Love looks like many things.
Love is a vibration, an energy, and it can take many forms. Truth is Love. Respect for life is Love. Protecting and preserving life is Love. Having healthy boundaries is Love. Breaking the cycles of generational trauma and abuse is Love.
Connecting to our own sovereign, divine, inner authority is Love. A gentle smile with no agenda is love. Art for art’s sake is Love. Gratitude is Love.
Love can look like thinking for ourselves, questioning authority, questioning reality. Love can look like collaboration and synergy. Generosity of spirit is Love. Doing our best is Love. Love is trusting that sometimes our simple, silent, calm Presence is enough.
Love is the courage to be perfectly imperfect. Love looks like savoring the moment, like shining and sharing our unique, holy ray of the sacred. Love is being honest with ourselves. Love is facing the terror and tragedy in our world, and meditating on how to respond from our hearts.
Love calls us to discern its vibrational signature so that we can have clear discernment of what radio signal we are attuning to. Only our hearts can receive the clear signal of Love’s guidance.
Love is always beckoning us to be Present, for that is where our Divine Power abides. Love is always waiting for us to consciously arrive into the fulfillment of the now moment, and be present and responsive to what is – as it is.
Love calls us to Self-Remember that we are One with the Earth, One with the Universe, One with All of creation and all creatures, One with Love Itself.
Love is acceptance, which is distinct from passivity.
Love looks like learning to trust the process, complete with all the uncertainty, confusion, chaos, and overwhelming, uncontrollable circumstances.
Love looks like believing in ourselves, believing in Life, trusting the journey, and trusting our own hearts to guide us through this existence!
The force of Love is always guiding us to grow, and that is a messy, shape-shifting process that is always inviting us to listen more deeply, sense more deeply, feel more deeply, perceive more deeply, question and contemplate more deeply.
Love urges us to pay attention more deeply, and to see ourselves, each other, and the arisings of our collective journey, with ever-expansive perspective.
Love does not look like blame, guilt, shame, hatred, reaction, attack, defense, or projection. Love does not look like ego aggrandizement or disregarding our interdependence. Rather, Love looks like clear-seeing, heart-based leadership, and holistic awareness.
Love looks like accountability, self-reflection, decoding our own trauma patterns, owning our own shadows, mending our own wounds.
Love looks like owning our own triggers when they are touched by others or events in the world, and then tending to our inner world with patience. Love looks like learning how to heal and transform our own brokenness by finding pathways to embody greater wholeness.
Love looks like skillfulness, sensitivity, conscientiousness, wisdom, and kindness. Love looks like compassion towards others’ brokenness, wounds, vulnerabilities, and immense human suffering.
Love asks us to become ever more self-aware and accountable for our own energies and actions and contributions to the one living equation of life, and our impact and influence upon it.
Love can look like listening. Love can look like honoring someone’s completely different experience or point of view of the same situation, while also holding to our inner truth. Love can look like courage to act and give and speak up and share. Love can look like courage to pause and reflect, or to disengage and take space.
Love does not look like codependency, or over-caring and taking on the pain and soul struggles of others. Rather, love calls us to discern our authentic, healthy place – moment to moment – of how to Serve Love in each shape-shifting circumstance life presents to us. Love can look like Yes! Love can look like No!
Love does not look like controlling or contriving. Love does not look like unconsciously trying to rescue and fix and solve everyone’s problems. Rather, love looks like supporting others from a healthy inner place, a place where we are giving what we have to give, and knowing how to support our own selves to avoid feeling drained and burnt out.
Love looks like self-care, self-nurturance, self-compassion, and ever-learning how to show up as our own best friend.
Love does not look like denial, or hiding from pain, or spiritual bypassing, or throwing ourselves in the deep end before we are ready.
Love does not look like indulging our emotional reactivity, nor does it look like suppressing it. Rather, love looks like discovering healthy, constructive outlets to transmute our pain.
Love looks like doing the work to learn how to create a safe container inside of ourselves to feel and free trapped pain, trapped stories, trapped beliefs.
Love invites us to be disciplined in learning our unique way to generate our own inner sanctuary of calm, clarity, compassion, and courage – our own divine refuge of inner peace. Love guides us to ongoingly cultivate our connection to this calm inner source, so we can learn how to access it and anchor to it when we need support from our own inner resources.
Fear also has many faces and forms, but discerning the vibrational distinction between fear and love is the easiest way to become conscious of what resonance we are plugged into.
Aside from genuine moments of crisis and abuse happening in real time, in this modern moment most of us regularly fall under the vibrational veils of fear in its many guises such as separation, reaction, doom, anxiety, stress, unworthy, self-loathing, etc. Meanwhile, all of us are born with the capacity to discern that that is what’s happening, and then discover pathways to see and feel free of fear’s veil, and centered back in our hearts’ coherency.
In my human experience, it is wise and necessary to invest our time and energy into exploring and discovering what specific tools and techniques assist us to regain our center. It is valuable and essential to then apply those practices consistently to generate those new neural pathways and healthy habits. This is how we do our part in helping be part of the solution in this broken world.
We each have a personal part to play amidst this planetary healing crisis we are in. This time of great purification and illumination of the shadow is universally touching us all. Peace on Earth is born of each of us doing our sovereign healing work that is unique to our own soul’s journey.
Some of us unquestionably have lives of more freedom, means, opportunities, leisure time, supportive environments, etc. Yet the collective emotional body of humanity deeply suffers. Even if we are not suffering physically, we are suffering psychologically.
In that light, let us be the Love we wish to see in the world. Let us free the love we wish to see in the world. Let us commit to learning how to live from our hearts.
The energies of calmness, humility, trust, compassion, faith, and surrender all live inside of our hearts, waiting for us to feel them, and embody them, and share them, and shine their medicine.
Love looks like authenticity, and it can take the form of tears, of sacred vulnerability, of riotous laughter, of a long hug, of a quiet walk. Love looks like knowing when we need to ask for help. Love looks like reveling in the glory of the blue sky, like consciously breathing, like singing to ourselves, like stomping in puddles, like smiling to the trees, like resting and resetting and doing nothing.
Love can look like stormy catharsis, like fierce wrath, like subtle shimmering awareness, like firm conviction, like soft radiance, like silence.
Love looks like imagining into other human’s experiences and journeys. Love looks like shining a light on our blind spots. Love looks like admitting when we’re wrong, like apologizing sincerely, like making amends.
Love looks like dancing to the rhythms of our own heartbeat. Love can look like not knowing, like letting go, like being immersed in the awe-inspiring beauty of the tiniest flower.
Love can look like inspiring our world with art, like playing our favorite song over and over, like knowing when to reach out and help, like uplifting ourselves and others with creativity, like acknowledging each others’ beauty and strengths.
Love looks like planting holy intentions to grow, like integrating and illuminating our shadow, like supporting our inner child to feel safe and carefree and innocent.
Love looks like enjoying whatever moment we are inside of, and being willing to learn from every experience no matter how painful. Love looks like being patient, like being bold, like embracing change. Love looks like finding magic in the mundane, like downshifting and relaxing amidst intensity and acceleration, like meeting the moment with the curiosity of a beginner’s mind.
Love looks like giving our own scared, vulnerable self a deep, long, inner hug.
Love can look like starting again.
Love is willingness to let ourselves and each other grow, heal, evolve, awaken, and become
New…
