The Missing You Blues

I have been thinking about blogging ever since I saw my daughter's blog. It is a wonder to read her thoughts and descriptions of life as a young mom and see the pictures of my grandchildren involved in their everyday shenanigans. Then I started reading her friend, Brandi's and then my neice Natalie's and neice Tami's and have found it is so enjoyable to read their lives and see their lives through their eyes that I am thankful they take time to blog. Now my one and only daughter, Sarah, has moved to Seattle and although I know how great this is for her, Angelo, her husband and their children, I miss them all so terribly that tears are always close to the surface. So I will blog now so my sweet Sarah and all of hers can stay close to me through words and pictures. They sent me 7 e-cards today and I laughed and cried and laughed some more. How lucky we maybe didn't even know we were, living so close to one another for 8 years.
So here I am creating a blog without Sarah's helpful guidance. Hopefully, I will be able to find pretty and cool backgrounds, drag on pics and enliven with music videos or silly extras. I am not the most able when it comes to the computer. Unfortunately, it still is like an amazing typewriter. I could have learned this all with hands on tutoring by Sarah but I must like something about blazing my own way. If I get befuddled maybe this will be my only blog.
Today Joseph accidentally hit the gas on the neighbors 4 wheeler and as he rammed into a tree, he also lost his helmet. After ascertaining that no ribs were broken and that he didn't have a concussion, he swallowed some ibuprofen, took 10 in bed and did what any self respecting boy would do, hit the trail again in the great outdoors in the back acre. This is the time of year for frog and snake gathering. Having reared my only girl, I rally interest and state sufficient "oh my's" and "that's so cools" as I stare at the pond scum onshirt, pants and wader boots slowly dripping to the tile and disregarding that attend to the amazing amphibian or reptile squirming in front of my face. The boys have such a ready joy in the everyday finds in the yard. If I let them, they will teach me to remember all the rachel carson books I read and all the promises I made at 20 about the uninhibited, in-the-moment mom I would be. Now that I am blogging, I should have taken a picture. Now I will do that.
