Baby Cate is Here!

Our family is now a family of four! Cate joined our family tonight!

She has her mother's first name and her grandma's middle name. Brown hair. Big eyes. Gorgeous.

Daniel already loves his baby sister. We had a fun family night on Thursday. Daniel and Mike came up to the hospital and we ate dinner and watched Finding Nemo while sitting on my hospital bed. Coolest feeling every sitting on the bed with my TWO kiddos. Crazy. I have two kids. Still waiting for it to all feel real.

First bath. Mike is the tubby man at our house, so it was only fitting that he give Cate her first bath.

My wonderful Doctor - Jeannie Gemmel - who delivered both Daniel and now Cate. I know I look like a deer caught in headlights, but I really wanted to document Cate and her delivery doc.

I just can't wait to get to know my little girl. She's wonderful.

Here we go...

I'm ready! Let's go! 9 months pregnant and ready to find out what baby girls are all about!

Only child for one more day.

Tomorrow I am going into the hospital to be induced - haleluja! That means tomorrow, Daniel will no longer be an only child. So today I thought I would spoil him like every only child should be spoiled. What did we do? We went to the zoo and rode the train three times in a row. Yep. We went to the zoo JUST to ride the train. Then, we grabbed some quesadillas for lunch at Costa Vida - his favorite restaurant (it's either that or Cafe Rio - same dif right?). It was so much fun to spend the day spoiling him. I love him so much and I can't think of anything better I can do for him than to give him a sibling. I sure can't imagine life without mine.

Neglected garden

It's too hot to go outside and play - and it's too hot to go outside to fiddle with my garden. Needless to say, it has paid the price of my 9th month of pregnancy. I let this one grow a little too long - think it's still good to eat???

Ready for baby...

My sister had this big idea to start doing the "Once a Month Mom" program where you spend two days cooking for your entire month. Then, you don't have to cook for a whole month! Recipes and all instructions are listed at onceamonthmom.com. So now I am very pregnant and I have an entire months worth of food in my deep freezer. I'm pretty sure I couldn't be MORE ready to have this baby!

Joyschool

Daniel is going to be doing Joyschool this year! There are 10 2-3 year olds in the neighborhood so all the moms got together to coordinate. I am kind of along for the ride because I'm the rookie. I'm excited for Daniel to spend more time with little friends. My friend Liz hosted a cute Joyschool Kick-Off party in her backyard. Here's Daniel's Joyschool class.
