- "Boogeyman" is one of the aliases used to refer to John Wick.
- The bouquet may be a nod to the iconic Terminator 2: Judgment Day scene where Terminator (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) retrieves a gun from a box of flowers (roses).

- A Boogeyman is a mythical creature typically used to frighten children into good behavior. Boogeymen have no specific appearances, and conceptions vary drastically by household and culture, but they are most commonly depicted as monsters that punish children for misbehavior.
