Context: Cow-orker is in Tempe, and relatively new to the company. I'm in Minneapolis and have been here for around a decade. We have a fully loaded Cisco 6513 that may have a backplane problem.

Me [9:00 AM]:
  replacing a 6513 is not fun.  I've had to do it twice, and it took all night.
Cow-orker [9:00 AM]:
  I was there!
Me [9:00 AM]:
  I mean personally, I've done it twice in Minneapolis.
  I wasn't counting all the times the team has done it.

Calling People in Western/Eastern MA, CT area
Hi!

I am the asst. General Manager for Worlds Apart Games, America's only non-profit volunteer run game store. We are currently looking for indie game designers to come and demo their games at the store. We would like people to come on Sundays around 5 or 6. So, if you have a game or a prototype you would like to try out (and possibly have sold in the store). Please contact me. advice
I've tried googling for an answer to my question but I don't really know what good keywords to use ergo I've not found an answer. Hoping someone here has advice. (and I hope my question is ok to ask here, it seemed like a good place to get some advice...)

I have vhs tapes I want to convert into a digital form on my mac so i can edit them (home movies mostly). the mac requires that it be able to control the input, so if it's not a digital source, I can't feed to the mac form it. I have a digital camcorder that I now use, and even though it's digital, the mac wont recognize it. so neither my old movies nor the ones I will shoot in the future can be downloaded directly to the mac. humpfff!

So I'm in a game store and saw this this and it seems like it might fit the bill. It will take my footage and turn it in to a video file and since it's on a memory card I can then just load that off onto the mac where I can edit it how I want. this particular product is 3 years old, so I have to think there's a better product out there.

or is there a better process? I've looked in various forums, googled a bunch of stuff and haven't really found anything. if there's a better process, great: tell me. if not, is there a better device then this? My main question is whether the quality of the video will be sufficient for tv viewing. I mean it's not HD or anything, but I don't want my home movies squinched down to some pixelated blob.

I am part of a Graphic Novel book club in Arlington, MA. We get together every other Tues and discuss the GN we had read the previous 2 weeks. I realize not everyone here is from MA, however we have forums and are trying to get people to join in our discussion there (discussion for the book is opened up after the meeting).
