Ghost Ship Games

Co-op First.

Ghost Ship Games

Ghost Ship Games was founded in the spring of 2016 by 6 veteran game developers. By now, we have grown to a team of 54 people, comprised of both industry veterans and up and coming developers.

Right from the get-go, we’ve had a couple of over-arching goals: Making games that we would enjoy playing ourselves, making games that take co-op to the next level, and to avoid many of the game development pitfalls we have encountered elsewhere.

How we work

We strive to get things on-screen as quickly as possible, getting to a point where we can test things in-game quickly, rather than get bogged down in endless meetings and documentation.

We encourage discussion between disciplines and try to foster an open and inclusive work environment where everyone is heard and everyone gets to leave their mark on the product. We have daily stand up meetings before lunch, and we also offer monthly 1-to-1 meetings with Leads to ensure there is ample opportunity for employees to discuss their work and other important matters.

We are also deeply committed to Open Development, engaging with our community directly from an early stage, and making sure their input is heard, discussed, and used. GameIndustry.biz wrote an article on the topic.
