Light House
The last part of the trip was to go the lighthouse and have our pictures taken. It was already getting dark. Hirap na kumuha ng matinong pictures.. Below are what I managed to salvage with the remaining light:
Ryukyu Mura
This is RyuKyuMura(Ryu Kyu Village) – Before, Okinawa was called RyuKyu. Almost all of the gates and houses have shisar in front. They are like a dragons with dog-like body and fur.
Attractions include, transfered old houses, traditional tools and livelihood. The houses are like those in the old provinces of the Philippines particularly, Batanes.
Aside from the Attractions, there was this show inside…
“To the Cliffs!” -King Leonidas
Nothing special about this spot except for the cliffs and the sea. The scenery was good. The funny thing is that we always came across with a touring group. The bus would always take them to the same destinations that we went to. It was not the cliffs that gave me the creeps… but the grass grounds. Two of my companions went outside of the pathway and stood in one of the farthest cliffs accessible by foot. Since there were grass there, it was highly likely that a snake would be in one of them specially with all the snake stories that i have been hearing about even in the city proper. It is not that much, but still, a probability is still a probability.
Beach (No) Action
We also went to the beach… after the aquarium experience. It was relaxing. The thing that I admired in the site was that there were people who make campfires and drank until kingdom come but only a handful of garbage was to be seen in the beach. Walking around the beach I found a coin, probably from someone wishing something (or someone), a very old metal plate lodged in the rocks(which i managed to pull out but later returned somewhere else). We walked around a little then went into our next destination.
Aquarium
I always wanted to swim with the whale sharks in Donsol but the chance never came(Homer Simpson voice:”…never came so far!“). I know that I will be able to do it sometime soon but for now, I just have to be contented with seeing them swim in front of me. I wanted to go to every diving site in the Philippines, dive and see the sites under the sea. Since it is more likely that the world will be enveloped by water once all the polar ice caps melts, might as well be familiarized with all the lifeforms that you’ll see. Of course, I am just justifying my longing for diving. I cannot think of any reason now so that was the first thought that came to my mind. My mind aint function’ so might as well go to the pictures.
I was listening to the people around the place where I took this shot. It was amazing that they all know Jaws. They would sing the song while taking pictures.
Okinawa is famous for its beaches and diving sites. Japanese take summer trips and go diving so it was imperative that they get a crash course on what underwater animals were safe to be around while underwater. The aquarium also features demos for those who want to simulate how the poisonous animals attack/defend themselves.
Then there were the safe ones…
…and the big ones….

Translated: “Crucial Moment”
My manager said this when he decided to stay in the office until 5am. He had to finish a presentation for our customer so he had to spend the night in the office. Asteeeggg! If that aint dedication, i don’t know what is. The thing is that we still have to go to work the next day. He was not late…nor crappy the next morning.
Air Fair and Show
We went to the airbase fair. It is funny that people really flock for this type of events. They try their best to attend. Though the plane exhibition was quite disappointing due to the fact that we waited for that show for about 3 hours. We didn’t see what we came for. It was frustrating considering that there were several planes ready to perform the exhibition. What did we get out of the event? A lot of pictures regarding the military capability of Japan. Of course, they only showcased the old stuff, it was nice to see the up close.
