The GIIS Hackathon gives students the opportunity to participate in a marathon of creating, developing, and producing a product that aims to address an issue that the world faces. The event has 6 different categories, Scratch and MIT App KIt for 6th to 8th graders, Blender and Python Automation for the 9th to 10th graders, Web App and Unity for the 11th and 12th graders.

Over the course of the 24 hours, participants will be expected to brainstorm, code and come up with a solution that aligns with the given theme. There will be mentors on the sidelines who would be there throughout in order to guide everyone in the case of any difficulties. The hackathon would also give you the opportunity to interact with other participants and learn about their ideas that can hopefully motivate and inspire you. Towards the end of the hackathon, participants will be expected to record their pitch to the judges explaining their product and their code.

The judging criteria would focus on the relation to the theme, the implementation of your code, the run time, and the various features of your products. There are a wide variety of prizes that are up for grabs that range from earphones to drones giving you the extra boost to put your best step forward. We would like to take this opportunity to wish you the very best for the Hackathon and may the best hack win!
