Alerts
GitDailies enables you to build custom Alerts for important events, stalled PRs, or waiting PR reviews.
This has many usecases, for example:
- Watch for PRs going stale. (You can specify all sorts of conditions, such as PR age, repo, PR label, the team that the PR author belongs to, etc.)
- Send automatic reminders to team members when PR review requests are waiting for them.
- Keep an automated watch for PRs that modify critical files in the codebase.
- Precise and targetted alerts let you avoid the distractions of standard GitHub notifications, which are often too broad in their scope.
- Encourage best practices within your team by posting into a team Slack channel when a best practice is violated (e.g. PR merged without a review, or a commit made an unhelpful commit message such as ‘Fixed bug’). Many teams find that simply highlighting these violations, rather than automatically banning them fosters a team spirit of trust and responsibility.
- Automate evidence gathering for audits such as ISO 27001 or SOC2.
