First Day of College

Carly looks like she is going on a hike, but she is really headed to Irvine Valley College for the first day of school. Her day is super long so she had to pack a lunch.
The atlas is for her history class.

It's Time!!

It is August 10th, 2009, the time is finally here. It has been a long day of waiting. We finished up with the final preparations around the house, and we talked to Matt a couple of times. He left Panama super early this morning. There was a delay though, stray dogs on the runway held up the flight. The flight left Panama about an hour late. When his plane arrived in Miami there was one more delay. The cargo door was stuck and the workers could not get the luggage off the plane. Needless to say, Matt missed his connecting flight from Miami to Dallas. This put him on a flight that was about an hour behind schedule.

It was worth the wait. It was one of the best days of our families life. It was wonderful having Matt serve a two year mission. It was even sweeter to have him return home to us knowing that he had given his all to the Lord and to the people while he was in Panama.

We all sat at the bottom of the escalator waiting for Elder Glazier to appear. It was hard not to scream when we caught the first glimpse of him.
