ENTRY PERIOD
The Competition starts at 00:01 East Africa Time (“EAT”) on 1st March 2021 and ends on 3rd April 2021. This Entry period will consist of the following activities:

COMPETITION DETAILS
The participation period will last for 5 weeks staring from 1st March 2021. Each team will select a problem to solve during this entire time.
Each team will be assigned a Team Lead who is either a Gold Member or Beta Member of the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Program. The Team Lead is part of the team and can contribute to the creation of the project.
Each team is required to have at least one Review session with their Team lead every week.
Each week is a sprint, code submission must be in by 12am Saturday mornings for review and weekly judging.
If the team will use Microsoft Azure for the development of their solution, they are only allowed to Strictly use Azure for Students Subscription which they can activate from http://aka.ms/azureforstudents
At the end of the 5th week, by 06:00pm Tuesday 6th April 2021 EAT, each team is required to deliver the following materials:
· Presentation Video – 3-minute pitch and demo video about your solution. Your Team Lead will guide you on how to record your presentation video on Microsoft Teams.
· Software Usable by Judges
· Software Instructions – document explaining how to use your software.
The GOL will be filmed to document the journey of each team and its members. Each week will result in an edited episode which be released weekly online for public viewing.
Eligibility
· You are eligible to enter if you meet the following requirements at time of entry:
· You are at least 18 years of age and are actively enrolled as a student at an accredited college/university (or equivalent) in Kenya or Nigeria.
· If you are a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador, you are eligible to participate if you are in your Alpha milestone.
· If you are an Alpha member of the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors and you meet the eligibility criteria you may participate but you are prohibited from using any resources which are not broadly available to all other students. This includes but not limited to the Visual Studio Enterprise Subscription benefits.
TEAMS AND MENTORS· Each team will be consisted of 5 members, 2 ladies, 2 gentlemen and 1 Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador (Beta or higher). Every team will be assigned a mentor who will be a Microsoft employee for technical assistance.
· Each competitor may belong to only one team within the competition
· Team members may come from different academic institutions in either Kenya or Nigeria.
· You may have assistance with your project from additional students beyond the team members who are your official team. Such assistance is typically in specific disciplines such as graphic design or business plan development. Any such additional students are not considered members of your team for purposes of these rules and they will not be eligible for any prizes.
· Each team is solely responsible for its own cooperation and teamwork. In no event will the Mentors officiate any dispute regarding the conduct or cooperation of any Team or its members.
· The intent and the spirit of the competition is to test the skills and creativity of the student entrants. Anyone acting as a team mentor, or in any mentorship role, must limit the level of support provided to the student entrants to general guidance and must not contribute in any way that may be considered original authorship, or in any way enable claims of rights or ownership to the submitted entries. In no event will work-on-behalf of teams or individuals be allowed.
Requirements
· 3-minute pitch video (Upload your pitch on One Drive or YouTube and provide the link, ensure the link can be accessed publicly without any login)
· Demo video (Max 10 minutes of code and product walkthrough, include the Software Instructions, i.e., the demo video should explain how your product works)
· Documentation (Problem statement, Concept/Detailed explanation of the solution and how it works, Business plan)
· Project Summary (Concept and how it works, not more than one page)
· The demo video, documentation and project summary should be zipped and uploaded as one file.
