Overview
| At first glance Ernesto seems friendly and easy-going, without a care in the world. While he's certainly reliable, his own former boss was able to confidentially refer to him as one of her sharpest employees and an idiot in close to the same breath. The balance he's managed to strike between effective worker and an almost overly laid back demeanor has really worked in his favor, and allows people to pigeonhole him as an affable but probably vapid man.
In some ways it's a shame that's not actually true. While Ernesto is at least somewhat genuine in his pleasant attitude, his character is a lot more complicated than he usually lets on. Whether he wants to be or not, Ernesto is an excellent schemer and liar. Though his own natural inclination might not lead him to use his skills for harm, loyalty to others can easily persuade him into acting against his own self-interest.
Ernesto is not a man who can look at things in terms of black or white, and has grown up with two different worldviews, that are deeply at odds with one another, thrust upon him. A lot of turmoil bubbles under the surface, though he is not comfortable with the idea of people getting close enough to understand this aspect of him. Motivations
| There is a tangled web of thought and emotion that goes on inside Ernesto's head. He grew up in a country constantly tearing at itself in ongoing internal wars, and even spent some of his later childhood in the army reserves. Eventually he came to a city with an idyllic facade, that set itself apart from the tensions burning the rest of the country. Ernesto is a man torn between an honest appreciation for the borderline hedonistic lifestyle offered to him by this new life, and his father's deep rooted belief that the comfortable luxury enjoyed by a few at the expense of the many must be destroyed in order to create a united country.
He is far from a righteous crusader for any cause, but he will maintain loyalties the point of self-sabotage for the sake of his family and their ideals. However, left to his own devices he is a young man who is still struggling to properly understand his own feelings on these complicated matters.

Handling Conflict
| Ernesto has really managed to cultivate his charisma, and with that affable personality of his can smooth over some pretty thorny interpersonal conflicts between people. In his new life as an operative of Rhodes Island he has quickly become known for his ability to play mediator between other operatives.
Though while he is excellent at helping to smooth over the external conflicts of others, he tends to push aside dealing with whatever internal ones he's having. He certainly isn't ready to accept a much needed hand to help him resolve his own past traumas.

| Beach bum is probably a great way to describe Ernesto at a glance. Between the swim trunks, tank top, and shaggy blonde hair he certainly looks like he belongs on a sandy beach, kicking back on a beach towel, or catching some waves. He's a relatively tall man with some muscle tone, though he definitely looks more like the kind of guy who stays fit from playing around rather than hitting the gym.
Like all Perros he has dog-like features, which include a fluffy tail and an extra set of floppy ears on the top of his head, alongside his two more typical human looking ears (yes, that's right, he has four ears). Though his dog ears remain untouched, he has two pierings in his left earlobe, and one piercing in the cartilage of his right ear. He's also usually wearing a number of bracelets, necklaces (including dog tags from his time as a soldier), and sunglasses.

First Impressions
| A first glance at Ernesto is going to give the vibe of a man who doesn't have a care in the world. He dresses and carries himself like someone who was born to kick back and relax in a bright, sunny place. Even when times are stressful and tough, Ernesto's demeanor remains almost distressingly laid back. Unless a person was really good at picking up on the smallest nuances of expression or wording, there's nothing in Ernesto's initial appearance of behavior that would suggest the conflicts ricocheting around his brain.
