That's right folks, I got to head to Boise to watch my boys once again on the smurf turf! But this year, unlike last year where we knew they'd lose, it was HUGE that they made it to a bowl game. The weather was FANTASTIC up there! I still am thinking I am kind of crazy for bringing Hudson a long but I wasn't going to miss the opportunity just in case it never happens again (it will though, right?) just because I'm a mom now. It was our first adventure spending the night in a hotel. Truth be told, he's only not spent the night at our house two nights which were at Daren's parent's house. As if I haven't said it enough times, I seriously have the best baby. I don't know too many babies who would put up with my crazy football self as well as he did.
We made the journey early Saturday morning. I felt super rushed and felt I would probably forget something, I think I would have felt that way even if I had had all the time in the world to prepare (which, in reality, I did have plenty of time) When we were probably about 15 minutes away from Boise I realized I had forgotten my coat! Of all things to forget! My dad kept telling me I would be fine without my coat, but I insisted on stopping somewhere to get me a cheap coat just to get me by. It was a balmy 45 degrees up there! Once we got to the game, they have the most CONFUSING seating in the world. It shouldn't be that difficult. But to make a long story short (I will never forget the story so I don't need it for journaling purposes) we ended up moving at least 4 times because we couldn't figure out where our real seats are. Even the arena seaters didn't know where we were suppose to be. But where we ended up was just perfect for us! There were HEATERS! So, I really didn't need my coat I just bought. There were a lot of Boise fans around me. Really random seeing as how we were playing Ohio. They were all freezing, even with all the alcohol that was in their system. The way the game ended was only fitting for how the season went (losing it within the last 2 minutes)
Hudson was such a good boy during the game. The whole 3rd quarter he just slept in my arms. He was making eyes with everyone around us. I've never seen him be such a flirt before. I mean, I do think he is the most adorable baby in the world so I don't know how you couldn't want to be loving him. Even a large man was laughing with him. Oh, sweet boy I just love you.
Other notable things from the trip were eating at Smoky Mountain after the game, where AJ ordered a cheese calzone and the waitress had never had anyone order that before, which I found incredibly strange. Had one of the roughest nights with Hudson since he was a newborn! I expected it though so it wasn't too bad. My arms still hurt from how much I held him during the weekend. Walking to Albertson's and being overcharged for a 50 cent item but not caring because I was so tired I didn't care. Also eating at the Farmhouse and the Mandarin House.
Thankfully, Hudson slept and played well in the car. He is in love with his books these days. He loves to give the animals kisses. I will admit, he was DONE with 20 minutes left to go. He wanted out of the car just as much as the rest of us. My parents are wonderful for dragging me and Huds along for the fun. Here's to hoping for another bowl (but winning it) next year!
