Hmm, I was thinking today about social groups and legacies and I realise that I do have a legacy.
It probably won't seem as much but when I played on Achaea I gave my character a surname. That character went on to become the matriarch of the family which expanded and grew through 'marriage' and 'parenthood'.
I check back every now and then to see how things are going and always find that the family is still running. Still growing and expanding.
For that little seed that I sewed 10+ years ago, it is still there.
I actually do have a legacy.
Long live the Le'Murzens!
Edit: Oh wow, it's more than 11 years ago. Just found a site I had designed back in the day mid 2000.

I penned this in response to a rant by an American friend about the situation in America with the Occupy movement. I rather like my idea about the zombie movement.
I'm glad I decided to leave my response until I could take in your essay :P (PS Where o where were the paragraph breaks? :P)
I don't think the situation in the states is everywhere. I mean, in Australia we have great health care which we don't have to pay for. We may wait longer for elective surgeries than someone who pays for private health and not get our own private room. We have a hung parliament but things are getting done (albeit slowly). We still have the same economic classes; the rich, middle class and poor. I think everywhere in the world will have these as the basal segregation.
A lot of the things we see coming from the states are not always good; there is stupid in every country but of course you only see what the news houses choose for the world to see.
As for the curling irons and warning signs, I think Greenday summed it up well :P Overall, I believe the world is loosing the common sense that the earlier generations had in ample supply. The stupid seems to be infectious, I believe this is going to be the cause of the zombie appocalypse, not some infectious disease but the spreading of stupid and it increasing to the point where people cannot be trusted to tie their own shoelaces for the sake of strangling themselves.
It is then when some entrepanuer will sieze the moment and brain wash the masses to desire the brains of those who do not share their affliction.
Hmm seems my writing style has taken on a whole new level of sarcasm.

Dear Team,
I recently purchased Item(s) Ordered:
5x LED Avatar Mushroom Lamp (LED Avatar Mushroom Lamp) and really love the item! I have a query or concern however.
I plugged one in at work and it works well, only to plug another in at home for it to die in the most spectacular way with me ripping the USB cord from my PC when it went 'pop' and heated up rather quickly in my hands.
I was going to just leave it, it's an item worth $5ish and so no big loss in todays disposable society.
Tonight I thought I would see if it would work with some batteries. Surprisingly enough it did! So not as dead as I first thought.
Ok, I thought to myself. What if it is because my PC is USB3? So I plugged it into my USB2 keyboard and guess what.. It works with no issues and no heating.
I checked the product description and it doesn't mention anything about USB2 vs USB3. Could I suggest you guys test it out and if you run the item again (and this problem wasn't just a once off) to put a disclaimer on the specs.
Other than that, I'm happy. They're cute and quirky. All is well.
Regards
Gotica

I keep receiving reminders for my car service with the wrong name on it. Yeah its not a big issue, just frustrating.
Recently I've been reading http://www.bunny-fu.com/ and it appears to have rubbed off on me:
Dear Southside Nissan,
I keep receiving reminders from you about my service for REGO which is fantastic and helpful however you keep messing up the contact name on the letter.
You could imagine that I'm a little bit upset by now as this is not the first time that this has been messed up and it is not the first time that I've contacted Westside Nissan about fixing up this information; to then be reassured by the person I was speaking to that it was all sorted and WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.
But, to my dismay I received a letter dated 4th October 2011 where Eastside Nissan have kindly reminded me about the need to service my vehicle, only to have the name messed up yet again.
Now the name on the letter is C... H... and you may be wondering why this is such a big deal. You see, H... is my married name and I'm divorced. C is my new fiances name and well can you imagine the insult at being referred to by the surname of your fiances ex? Some men get rather sensitive about issues like this.
It's a bit like how I've been insulting the Northside Nissan brand by referring to it as south/east/west etc. It may just be a name but a heck of a lot gets invested into that name of which people associate good or bad opinions of.
Seriously, find out what generates the information you print on the AHG Protected Warranty Service Reminder letters and fix it because I am really tired of trying to get this sorted out.
Regards
Me
EDIT: In less than 10 mins of sending the email, I received a phone call about it. Now if they can only fix this problem as fast.

Yay, blah, yay, blah. Tis how my weekend has gone.
I picked up my brand spanking new Mitsubish Ralliart Lancer on Friday WOO! Very happy with the choice. It drives so lovely and looks so swish and shiney! I've also ordered the custom plates (White writing on Black) KURONEKO. Eh how awesome is that gonna looook!
It's like I have to learn to drive again. The balance on the accellerator is so fine, plant the foot and it expects you to keep powering through. Lightly press the pedal and it glides up to speed without a care. It comes in auto, sports auto, stick shift manual and a 'flappy paddle gearbox' configuration where you treat it like a hand controlled manual vehicle.
I need to go over it with a fine toothed combe to see if there are any more issues cosmetically. Mechanically I cannot find fault.
This will be a fair substitute for a motorcycle.. for now ;)
I also picked up some more fish for the tank. It's strange but my clown loaches have been outliving my Cichlids. This is strange because loaches are extremely sensitive little beggars. The do not have scales so are susceptible to all the nasties that you can find in a fish tank. After chatting to the guy at the aquarium place and describing this he believes the problem wasn't with the loaches but with the golden chinese algae eater I have.
Since I was more than happy to get rid of it, I took it back for a store credit.
The fish I picked up were five blue Peacock Cichlids and two Peppermint Bristlenose Catfish. The catfish are so tiny and so cute! Looking forward to seeing them grow up :D
Only time will now tell as to whether the algae eater was the problem or not.
I also visited my parents and they had to bring up what was happening with my brothers ashes and he fact that M had married P (my brothers partner and best friend) and that R (another of my brothers best friends) hasn't spoken to M since because of this and that it's obvious that M has moved on because she's married now and that she should hand over his ashes etc etc etc. Also mum didn't believe me when I said I didn't know about M getting married.
That and AG never spoke to GM for 17 years because of GM taking SGD as a partner soon after GD died and that AG never respected GM because of that and that was wrong on AGs part. Talk about pot calling the kettle black. I turned around at that to then say that apply the same scenario to M and P after Bens death and that mum was acting just like AG.
Mum also tried to make it out that she was suffering more than anyone else because of Bens death because she gave birth to him. I so nearly got up and slapped her with the urge to walk out and never come back.
It will be four years in February.

So, the land settled today.
That was my last tie with I. Feeling indifferent. Money yay; but it is also the final chapter of a past life.
So yeah.
But yay! Once the cheque clears I can give car dealership monies for the car!
So happy side of things.
I want it to be this friday that I pick the car up but need to set a realistic expectation that if the cheque doesn't clear in time there is nothing I can do to change it.

Le excitement!
- Settlement on the land is booked for monday, funds should be available within a few days of that.
- Loan to aid the purchase is available as soon as I get the insurance documents.
- Dealership advised they would be ordering my bits and mods for the car today (friday 2nd).
- Dealership suggested delivery of the completed vehicle would be within a week.
This means by the 9th of Sept I could have my new car *giant squeals of excitement go here*.
*bounces all over the place*
The rego which has been allocated to it for now is 1DSD011. On the 9th I'll be going to a licensing centre to organise the custom plates.
