Pumpkins and Costumes 2011

We went to a Halloween party last night at the community center. The kids got all dressed up in their costumes. Sarah is a vampire queen. Bo is a supergirl!!!! (with a purple mask)

Jay is Harry Potter. He was Harry Potter last year, but he only wore his costume in Denver and no one in Idaho saw it. He decided (with a little prompting) to wear it again this year so his friends in Idaho could see how good he looked.

We also carved pumpkins on Thursday. Jay carved his this year all by himself.

Marcus and Kaitlyn were partners and this is what they came up with. Big surprise.

I helped Sarah. She cleaned the pumpkin out and did all the poking for the picture. I just carved. She was a big help.

First Day of Preschool!!!!

Kaitlyn started preschool in September. She is our baby and it's hard to believe she is old enough for preschool. Here she is on her first day. Can you guess what her favorite color is???

Face Painting Fun and Jay's Birthday

Marcus made Jay a football birthday cake for his birthday. Here's a picture. For Jay's birthday this year we didn't do a party. Instead he took a friend to the state fair for the night. They rode the rides and spent money on different things. He said it was a blast. He's 10 now and we let them walk around the fair by themselves. They just checked in with us every now and then. We took the girls over to the fair and they had their faces painted. Sarah LOVES getting her face painted.

First Day of School!!!!

Jay and Sarah started school today. Jay is now in 4th Grade and Sarah is in 2nd. They fell in love with their teachers today. Sarah said about 20 times how much she LOVES 2nd grade. Here are their first day pics.

Bo's 4!!!!

My Baby Girl is Four. I can't believe it. I begged her not to do it, but on Monday she went and turned 4. She is the twinkle in my eye and has her Daddy wrapped around every finger. She wanted a purple party, so of course she got it.
What went better with a purple party than a Rapunzel cake.

Blackfoot Tri 2011

Marcus and I trained and competed in the Blackfoot Tri this summer. It was so fun to do a triathlon together. We trained together in the evenings or early mornings. Sooooo fun.

Harry Potter 7 Part II Premier!!!

I was first introduced to Harry Potter while on maternity leave with Jay. I was home with him for 3 months and my oldest brother suggested reading Harry Potter. Then, my mother-in-law happen to have the first book so I borrowed it. My life has never been the same. I read the first 3 books as quick as I could get them. Book 4 had just come out in hard back and I bought it. Then I started playing the superfan waiting game. As each book was released, I was waiting at midnight to buy it. I even attended two Barnes and Noble release parties. Over the years I hoped and waited for the day Jay would be able to read and hopefully fall in love with the books too. That day came about a year and a half ago during summer break for Jay. He was just out of 1st grade and I was worried the books were too advanced for him. He read the first book and was hooked. He wasn't allowed to watch the movies until he had read the books, but as he finished a book we watched the movie together. It was sooo fun. However, the last three books are quite long and I realized about two months ago he wasn't going to complete all of them in time for the Premier. Yesterday, I surprised him with a ticket to the Premier. He was soooo happy. He watched movie 6 and 7 Part I and we were off.

The movie was fantastic. I know it will be a night we will both remember for a long time. It was worth almost a decade of waiting to share it with him. I love you Jay!!!!!!
