Scaling One of
Earth’s Largest Carbon Opportunities
U.S. grasslands cover 655 million acres, nearly 40% of the country’s land area, and have the potential to remove and store up to 1 billion tons of CO2e each year.
Grassroots Carbon is accelerating regenerative ranching systems across these lands to unlock one of the world’s largest natural climate solutions.

Why Grasslands Matter
Across the U.S., grassland pasture and rangeland cover roughly 659 million acres, making it one of the country’s largest land uses.
Globally, grasslands store about one-third of terrestrial carbon, with most of that carbon held belowground in soils and roots.
Research suggests U.S. grazing lands can further increase soil carbon over time, with estimated additional drawdown on the order of ~198 million tons CO₂ per year for several decades under the right management.
