I’ve been cultivating quiet time for some time now, some might call it meditation but meditation as a Christian means different thing for me. Today I am sharing 4 things that my quiet time has helped me nurture:

1. Awareness, being able to be aware of my thoughts is life changing

2. Knowing my triggers and inviting God to heal them

3. Questioning my reactions when I am triggered with the help of the Holy Spirit…. whew when you let Him in, He will show you your unhealthy expectations and unhealed trauma.

4. It helps me to pray more specific prayers.

Quiet time, help me to be extremely more aware and help me to know what scripture I need to meditate on to renew my mind.

Happy Monday everyone

Sharing another crop blazer from my closet. I love the color of this one it goes with everything. I paired with an xl Tommy Hilfiger button down shirt that I can wear as a dress. Shopping my closet has help my creative juices to flow and I am loving it.

I want to share this prayer with you this week from the song the Blessing

May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
And your family and your children
And their children, and their children
May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
And your family and your children
And their children, and their childrenMay His presence go before you
And behind you, and beside you
All around you, and within you
He is with you

May you begin to hear God’s voice like never before this week.

The Blazer Series, part 5/Pay Attention

Stay in your own lane, not everything is for you, not everything that gets your attention deserves your attention, not everyone has a voice for you. I’ve seen so many people say things, do things that years later they are retracting or if they had a choice would’ve done different. The culture’s good doesn’t mean God, other people’s (blue check or not, successful or not, Christians or not, statistics or not) experiences, processes, perspectives and opinions do not mean God. So, pay attention to the following:

Pay attention to what voice you listen to.

Pay attention to what you allow into your heart.

Pay attention to what you say.

Pay attention to what is driving your motive

Pay attention to what you are being influenced by.

Pay attention to what you are doing and where you are going.

Happy Monday everyone

Hope you had a great weekend and if not we thank God for new mercy for the week.

Today on the blog I am sharing a monochrome look.

This linen green blazer is from Jcrew I purchased a couple years ago. It’s very light and goes with everything. I wore it with a pair of chinos, white shirt and finished the look with my Zara pearl slip on sandals.

One of the trends that is still hot is: the crop blazer. Tell me how do you feel about it? Today on I am sharing an oldie but a goodie. I bought this blazer at a thrift shop and, decided to cut it and turn it into a crop blazer. I truly like the way it turned out. I only have 2 crop blazers in my wardrobe but I really want to add a white one.

Three reasons to get at least one crop blazer:

1. The crop blazer adds an edge to any look

2. The crop blazer is a remix to the regular blazer

3. The crop blazer is just a fun trend to try

Happy Friday y’all

Happy Monday Everyone

Over the weekend I was going through my closet and realized I have a lot of blazers, fitted and oversized. So, I decided this month I will share different ways I style them. I hope to inspire you to shop your closet, or get yourself one if you don’t have one. A great blazer is one of the best wardrobe staple it’s so versatile.

This first blazer is a thrifted linen blazer from the man section in a size medium. I like shopping the man section for oversized blazer at the thrift store, I find the best gem.

Gratitude for the mundane

Happy Monday Everyone

When was the last time you were grateful for what we’ve taken for granted, the things that have become the mundane of life? Like waking up in the morning and being able to brush your teeth by yourself, getting dress by yourself.

The last couple of weeks God has been teaching me how to be grateful for the small things yet big things in my life, you know the things I’ve gotten so used to that I don’t even consciously see as a blessing. Over the weekend, I lost power for like 2 minutes because of some electrical work that was happening on my block, immediately when I got the power back, I was like thank you God. Shoot I was grateful.

What in your life you’ve been so used to that you need to be intentionally grateful for?

I am grateful for running water

I am grateful for electricity

I am grateful for gas stations

I am grateful for being able to jump in my car and go where I please

I am grateful for a comfortable and safe home

I am grateful for my family

I am grateful for my son’s health, family’s health and my health

I am grateful for heat in my house

I am grateful for my legs

I am grateful for my arms

I am grateful I can hear and I can see

I am grateful for my son’s father, grandma, aunties, uncles

I am grateful for a steady paycheck

I am grateful for having choices of what I want to eat
