Richmond's Biggest High School Hackathon

Welcome to Richmond’s biggest hackathon! Hack4Youth is a beginner-friendly event designed specifically for high school students in British Columbia. This is the perfect opportunity to team up, learn, and create something amazing.

Get ready for a full day of coding, engaging workshops, delicious free meals, exciting prizes, and plenty of fun! The hackathon will be held at Code Ninjas Richmond, located at 6699 River Rd, Suite 125, Richmond, BC. Please note that this event is only open to students who registered on our website.

 

Schedule

  • 10:15 AM: Arrive early!

  • 10:30 AM: Opening Ceremony

  • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch break!

  • 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Closing Ceremony + Winner announcements

Please ensure you are on time for the opening ceremony so we can plan our lunch order as soon as possible.

The prompt is to build something that solves a problem you face daily.

*** Note that it is not required to build a project relating to the prompt ***

What to Build

You can create anything you desire, including games, electronics, and websites. Most code-related projects are permitted here!

What to Submit

Devpost Setup

- Set up your project on Devpost under our hackathon.

- Invite all your team members to join your project BEFORE LUNCH BREAK.

- Only the project name and team member details are required at this stage.

Final Submission Requirements (due before 5:30 pm): 

- Short Project Description: A summary that outlines your project.

- Project Overview: Briefly describe your project and the technologies/frameworks used.

- Demo Video: Create a video demonstrating your project. The video should be less than 2 minutes long and submitted via the Devpost video field. Any video longer than 2 minutes will not be judged.

- GitHub Repository Link: Provide a link to your project's complete GitHub repository. Make sure that your link is public!

NOTE THAT NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED!
