About the challenge

We’re proud to present Hackville 2025, taking place in person at Sheridan College’s Hazel McCallion campus on January 17th–19th, 2025! Hackville is Sheridan’s flagship 36-hour hackathon, where students from the GTA and beyond come together to create innovative software projects. Let’s get hacking together!

Our mission is to give the future generation of technologists the opportunity to explore, collaborate, and jumpstart their careers. Join us for a great time with amazing prizes, networking opportunities, and a once-in-a-lifetime learning experience!

Make sure to keep the judging criteria in mind while creating your project.

Get started

Teams can be made up of 1-4 people. If you’re still in look for a team, you can post in the #team-formation channel in our Discord.

Participants are not allowed to work on pre-existing projects or begin their projects before hacking at Hackville 2025. Any code written before the hacking period begins can not be used.

Any attempts of dishonestly or cheating will result in disqualification.

    40% - How technically impressive is the hack? Is the project complete? Does the hack allow for a good user experience?
  • Originality
    20% - Was the hack original? Was the hack creative?
  • Social/Industry Impact
    20% - Is the hack practical? Is the value articulated? Does it meet the challenge and fulfill a genuine need?
  • Presentation
    20% - Was the project clearly explained? Was the demo high quality?
