Honey Butter

The other day I took Ezra & Hazel on an outing to the mall (we love mall outings).  Being the health conscience family that we are, we decided to get some pretzels with honey butter for lunch.  Hazel quickly bypassed the pretzel & went straight for the good stuff.  The proof is in the pictures.  She managed to polish it all off.  Do you blame her?

Pimped Roxy's Kennel

The other day I felt a bit of compassion for our dog Roxy.  Just for a little background, our family got Roxy off of KSL almost 3 years ago & it was love at first sight.  However, that infactuation has worn off. She is truely a part of our family though.  We have unconditional love for Roxy, we love her deeply but sometimes we really can't stand her.  Anyways on this perticular day I saw Roxy shivering in her kennel.  She hates the cold weather.  It can be 100 degrees outside & she'll find a spot in the sun to get nice & warm.  So this cold front that has hit really put her in a sad mood.  I decided to show a little love.  Here's the before shot of her kennel.

I know, it's almost inhumane.  Hazel & I ventured to good ol' Target & found a 75% off sale.  Yippy!  We picked up a few pillows, foam, & a blanket.  And voile!

Image

Roxy was all excited like she knew something was up.  Here is what she did to her old pillow while I was sewing her new bed.  Naughty!

Image

And I don't know how my mom's daughter can be such a horrible seamstress.  Here is proof that I did actually sew, but I am definately not sew great at it.

Roxy gave her new pimped out kennel to paws up.  She hates her picture taken, but I managed to sneak one.

The kids also gave it a try & seemed to think it was great.

Hmmm this picture gives me an idea.

Paige's Tag

Wow it's been awhile since a tag has been passed around.  It's kind of fun to have something to blog about.

2 Secrets:  I don't have many secrets.  What you see is what you get with me, but for the tag let's see what I can think of.
I don't floss very often; it hurts my teeth.

I with I had a cat instead of a dog.

2 Regrets:

Not going on a mission.

Selling our house in Clearfield.

2 Things you spend money on and probably shouldn't:

Skin care products.  It's hard not to sell myself on it while I'm selling it to others.

Scrapbooking stuff.  I already have so much I don't really need to buy more.

2 Things you don't like about your body:

My jelly roll.  It doesn't matter what I do the roll is always there.

I really wish I had straight teeth.  Someday I hope to get old lady braces or something.

2 Bad Habits:

My baked goods consumption.  It's way out of control right now.

Not thinking before I talk.

2 Fears:

Getting in a car wreck.  I've relieved how easy it is.

Loosing a loved one.

2 Spiritual gifts:  Paige, this one is hard!

The strength of my testimony.

My strong desire to share my testimony with others.

2 Pet peeves:

When people can't admit when they're wrong, or can't see their mistakes.  This seems to be the root of most of my pet peeves.  It can be as simple as the guy driving really slow in the fast lane.

The use of the "Got Milk?" ad for anything other than milk.  Do these people think they are being creative?

2 Least favorite chores:

The dishes.  There is always something in that darn sink.

Changing the sheets on the bunk bed.  Ya have to be an Olympic gymnast to get the job done.

2 Favorite pastimes:

Scrapbooking.  I think this is probably not a very cool thing to do anymore, but it is my creative outlet.
Doing something, anything fun with my family and/or friends.

2 Events that changed your life:

Becoming a mom.

This is going to sound dumb, but running.  It was something I didn't think I could do & found out that I can do it.  It really made me think differently about a lot of things in life that seem to be impossible.

The Big 7

We had a rip roaring party for Jonah's birthday this weekend.  After much debate he decided on a classic Star Wars theme.  For some reason I always dread planning & carrying out my kids' birthday parties.  I found some fun game online to play & it ended up being super easy & way fun.  Sorry for the sideways picture I am lacking patients with this post.  This is Jonah & Ezra posing by the lovely cake Harmons made for us featuring Luke & Darth.  Image

Here we have the raging party guests.  Jonah's on the bottom, then Will, Parks, Isaac, a headless Clayton (sorry), Luke is peeking, Necca, Odessa, & Ezra's not in the picture but he's back on the couch.

There they all are.  At this point Jonah is turning blue.  His birthday was actually on Sunday the same day as the primary program & you should have seen him up there trying to hold still.  Poor guy.  Jonah is one awesome dude, & we all love him soooo much.  Happy birthday!
PS why can't I figure out how to post a video  grrrr, I've done it before

Venting - Beware

I've been really annoyed lately, & have to let off some steam.  For starters between David & I we've gotten into 3 automobile accidents in the last 9 months.  Nothing too serious, but each one has been a headache none the less.  And as bad as all that has been that is not what I'm fired up about.  It's the automated phone service I have to call at the insurance agency.  What is the deal?  Why can't I just talk to a real life person or at least be able to push a button for my response.  You know what I'm talking about, when you have to "talk" to the recorded voice to give your answers.  In an ideal situation I'd be sitting in a perfectly quiet house doing nothing but making this phone call, but COME ON, there is always someone crying, trying to talk to me, or a toy going off in the background.  This causes the recorded voice to "not understand me clearly."  I repeat it again & again & again until finally I'm yelling at the stupid phone using less then polite words.  I've really had it.  I'd love to just push 1 for yes or 2 for no, but somewhere along the way some genius thought "if they want to talk to a real person we'll just have them talk to the machine that's close enought isn't it."  Ok I'm starting to feel much better.  Please tell me it's not just me.  Consider this my petition to quit the madness.  Make a comment to sign. :)

It's our anniversary

Today is David & mines 9th anniversary.  Man am I glad we were married in 2000 or I'd have to figure out how long it's been each year (not something I keep track of).  We celebrated over the weekend by going to Park City.  Yes we're one of those couples that went to Park City on our honeymoon, but I don't regret it for a second.  In fact I'm very glad that's where we chose to go.  It's nice to get to go back there for our anniversary almost every year to celebrate.  We love it there.  We went with some friends (John & Shauntelle) this time because our anniversaries are days apart.
Image
Let's see what did we do?  I've probably posted before about the Baja Cantina.  It's the best place to eat in Park City.  If you haven't been there it's right by the Alpine Slides & I prefer the TJ Taxi.  So of course we ate there along with Taggart's on the way there.  We also did the Alpine Slide for old times sake.   It was fun & unseasonally warm for Park City.
Image
On a some what sappy note, I'm so glad I married my best friend.  It seems that the longer were married the more things we go through together, & the closer we become.  I love David more today then I did yesterday, & can't wait for our future together.

On the 1st day of Soccor

This one will be a quicky.  Jonah had his first soccor game & it was very entertaining.  He did a chest bump pass, a backwards kick pass, made two goals, & blocked a shot as the goalie.  Who knew.  I'm one proud mama.
