The Hammer Theatre Center strives to be a safe space for all individuals. With the goal of making this theatre accessible to all, here are a few things you should know before visiting the theatre!

LISTENING DEVICES:

  • Audio Enhanced assistive listening devices are available to check out for an event, free of charge. Visit the Concierge Window inside the lobby to borrow a device. A photo I.D. will be required to check out a listening device.

 

  • MobileConnect by Sennheiser: Connect through your mobile device via the MobileConnect app or with some Bluetooth-enabled audio aids. Visit the Concierge Window at the east lobby wall for assistance. Instructions can also be found here.

 

  • Audio description can be made available. Please contact the Hammer prior to visiting for more information.

SENSORY RESOURCES:

  • The Hammer Theatre is a KultureCity Sensory Inclusive Certified venue.

 

  • KultureCity Sensory Bags are available to check out during your time at the Hammer. Visit the Concierge Window inside the Lobby to borrow a bag. A photo I.D. will be required to check out a bag. Sensory Bags and all their contents must be returned at the end of the event.

 

  • Certain performances may have the option for guests to enjoy the show in a sensory-friendly room that can stream a live feed of the stage to a high-definition television screen with reduced sound.

 

  • Food needed to support dietary restrictions/needs are allowed into the venue but may only be consumed in the lobby space.

PARKING:

  • The Hammer Theatre Center does not have a designated parking lot or structure.

 

  • We do not validate parking.

 

  • A city-owned parking garage with 90-minutes-free is located half a block from the theatre at Second & San Carlos Street.

SERVICE ANIMALS:

  • While Emotional Support Animals or Comfort Animals are often used as part of a medical treatment plan as therapy animals, they are not covered under current service animal laws under the ADA and are therefore not permitted in the theatre.

 

  • If the service animal is disruptive, barks or growls or if the dog is not house-broken; the theatre will request the removal of the animal from the theatre.

SEATING:

  • The Hammer Theatre Center offers 6 ADA-compliant wheelchair spaces and 3 companion seats in the orchestra and balcony seating sections.

 

  • The Parterre section of the auditorium (Rows I-N) is only accessible through a small set of stairs.

 

  • In Hammer4 the black box performance space, seating is typically general admission with various arrangements.

 

  • 2 ADA-compliant seating spaces with companion seats are always designated in Hammer4.

 

  • The Hammer Theatre Center offers 4 extra-wide chairs that can be available upon request in the Sobrato Auditorium (2 in the Balcony section and 2 in the Orchestra section) and in Hammer4. Please speak to a House Manager when you arrive or contact the Box Office to arrange in advance.

 

  • Speak to an usher if you need special assistance or modified accommodations.
