Tutorial #4 - Wallpaper
Greenday stuck in my head and the usual Nick love.
Base - I found two pale yellowish textures I liked at Hybrid-Genesis Resized both to 1024x768.
Texture One (Basically the Base) I pasted in the second texture and hid it.
I then found a couple pictures of a desert road. Then dug up these Nick Brendon pics.
Let's begin...
Roads (Image One and Two) I wanted a vaugely faded yellowish tinge to the pictures.
Duplicate Image 1, and desaturate it. Set to Soft Light 100%.
New layer - flood fill with #0b0e49, or a dark, navy blue color. Set to Exclusion 100%.
New layer and flood fill with #e9f9f9, or a light blue layer. Set to Burn 100%
New layer with #ff382f, or a pale red. Set to soft light, 80% or so.
New layer, fill with Duotone Green. Set to Soft Light, 65%.
New layer, fill with Duotone Light Blue , set on Burn 100%.
New layer, flood filled with Duotone Brown, set on overlay 100%.
New layer, flood fill with Multi-yellow, set to Softlight.
Paste into Base.
Duplicate Image One Move over Image Two. Blend together.
I used the rectangle and moved between 50 and 80 feathering when I cut.
Image Three.
Layer 1 - Duplicate Twice.
Layer 1 - Sharpen.
Layer 2 - Screen.
Layer 3 - Overlay: opacity 75%. Copy Merge all.
1. Paste as new layer set to Multiply. Merge all. (This is now Layer 1) Duplicate.
2. Lasso Xander. Be sure to get a close selection. Modifiy. Expand by 5.
3. Create new layer 3. Place between layer 1 and 2. Fill with a pale yellow. Copy merge.
4. Paste into Base. Position.
Set Image Three opacity 35%
Image Four resize 70%
Layer 1 - duplicate twice
Layer 2 - multiply
layer 3 - screen 60%
Copy merge. Paste into base. Move to center.
Lasso Xander. Remember close selection. Modifiy: Contract 1. Feather 20. Invert. Cut. Set opacity at 55%.
Image Five and Six
Layer 1 - Duplicate Twice.
Layer 1 - Sharpen.
Layer 2 - Screen.
Layer 3 - Overlay: opacity 75%. Copy Merge all.
Resize. Crop. Add Border. Paste into base. Position.
Unhide Texture Two set to Hardlight. Move texture above the road layers.
Add your text. Shift it around till you find something you like.
Fonts: Kingsthings Xander. Angel.
