Spartan Sprint in Boise

Image
June 13, 2015
This was by far the hardest race I'd ever completed.
Completed?
I don't think I earned my "Spartan Badge" that day.
I seem to remember Dustin completing a lot of tasks for me.

I may have spouted off a few choice words when I saw this mountain.

Seattle Girls Trip

It's been six years, and we finally met up in Seattle for a girls weekend.  We live in different states, but had the best time touring the city, eating, talking, and being together.

We didn't go to the top of the Space Nettle, but the ground view was nice.

Golf Club

The girls began golf club last month and are having fun.  Too bad the weather isn't cooperating.

On May 15 parents were invited to eat lunch with their kids at school.

Builder of Men

My Grandpa Richey passed away May 13 at the age of 92.  He led a long and fulfilling life, and I was grateful we could drive to Arizona to see my extended family and attend the funeral.

Grandpa served in the Air Force during World War II.

Sixteen years ago, Grandpa asked me to play "How Great Thou Art" at his funeral.  I found a lovely arrangement that my uncle and cousins sang to.

I'm sure he had a joyous reunion in Heaven with my Granna, who passed 3 1/2 years ago.

Ag Expo

Image

I had the opportunity to go with Elaina on her 3rd grade field trip to fairgrounds.  Students from the high school put on an Ag Expo for elementary kids.  It was a little cold and rainy, but regardless, Elaina had a great time learning about farm animals and equipment.

The fire department sprayed the students with their water hose.

Couple's Weekend

We joined some friends (and left our kids) for a weekend getaway in Victor at Lone Elk Lodge.  We rented a 6 bedroom cabin for two nights and enjoyed food, games, golf, and fresh mountain air.

Couples included: Ashcrafts, Browns, and Westfalls.

Fairmont Hot Springs Resort

Our friends, The Westfall's, introduced us to Montana's best-kept secret: Fairmont Hot Springs.  We stayed two nights and enjoyed hot pools, a 350 foot water slide, golf, a children's playground, and a petting zoo.

Faulkner Planetarium

Dustin thought it would be fun to drive to Twin Falls and scope out the planetarium at the College of Southern Idaho.

Image

It has the largest planetarium theater in Idaho, with a 50-foot dome.

Image

Elaina has been learning about the Solar System in school and was pretty excited to see Solar System Odyssey.  The girls had never been to a dome theater before and thought it was a neat way to watch a movie.

Image

Afterwards we toured the different galleries.  There were displays from the rain forest, Idaho Indian tribes, ancient Peru, and fossils.  It was very hands-on and the girls had a lot of fun.  What a great way to spend a Saturday!

Easter

Image

The girls woke up early to open their Easter baskets.  They were very excited.  They got a game, nail polish, lip gloss, and money.

Image

After the morning session of General Conference we drove to Idaho Falls to have lunch and an egg hunt with cousins.

Image

Elaina found her eggs fast, and it was a good thing too since it was kind of cold.

Image

The younger girl cousins went out by themselves so the older cousins wouldn't get all the eggs first.

Image

Libby did well filling her basket.

Image

The girls opening their eggs.  They got lots of candy!

ImageImage

Betty hard boiled eggs and glued each of our pictures on them.  The family had an egg-rolling contest.

Image

And then in true Heath-Brother fashion they made a second game out of throwing eggs into a garbage can...and hitting Uncle Jared.

Image

Afterwards Uncle Jared gave a lesson on the Resurrection of our Savior.  Libby said this was her favorite part about Easter.

Baby Hazel and I walked around the house, and she fell asleep.
