Rumours have been circulating for years that they are going to build new houses in the adjoining field next to Heol Senni.

Risk of Flooding?

According to natural resources Wales, Heol Senni, which is built on low-lying and clay soil with its own stream, could be at risk of major flooding.

Heol Senni has its fair share of parking issues, not just from parents dropping their kids to school, but also residents parking on the pavement.

Antisocial Noise

Airbnb’s are all the rage these days, but one downside is that it can attract the wrong type of people, which can cause antisocial and noise issues.

Meadfleet maintenance

Heol Senni isn’t maintained by Newport city council, instead, a private firm called MeadFleet are responsible for the upkeep of the area.

Off-Road Motorcyclist

It’s nice to be surrounded by greenery, but on the downside, this can also attract antisocial behaviour in the form of illegal off-road motorcyclists.

Bad Traffic Congestion

With over 4000 houses and only one major way in and out of the estate, Bettws can become gridlocked during morning and evening peak hour times.

Coed Kemeys Woods

A small wooded area next to Heol Senni often attracts delinquent teenagers who have been known to start fires and engage in other antisocial activities.

Right-Of-Way Footpaths

There are two public right-of-way footpaths, one which leads you back onto the Bettws estate, and the other one which leads you to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.
