Fashion appreciation Lesson 58: Come as you are….but make sure it’s the Nineties Grunge look!
Now I am all over this look and have been since it arrived in the Nineties when I first went off to Uni (damn really showing my age there!). Why did I love it? Well because it was ‘effortless’ – though it did actually take a lot of effort for me at the time to look like I wasn’t on drugs, into Nirvana, and offended by the smell of most thrift shops!
So when the wonderful Dries Van Noten brought back Nineties Grunge with his Spring/Summer 2013 collection – a nostalgic smile creeped back on my face…..

Fallen in love with: Saint Laurent S/S 2013 rabbit felt fedora hat….
Uhh, I can’t tell you how much I want this Saint Laurent rabbit felt hat; because I absolutely loved Hedi Slimane first collection for Saint Laurent. Luckily I class myself as a fashion psychic, that’s right I saw a big black brimmed hat looming in my future and immediately scoured stores for one.
Zara was the high street store that answered my prayers (one day in November 2011) and I immediately snapped up thier black cartwheel hat with grosgrain band hat. So job done, I suppose……
