Gingerbread Houses

On Monday night we decorated Gingerbread houses with the kids. These are the worst gingerbread houses I have ever made, but the kids had a blast. Tori was so proud--we had to explain that she couldn't take her house to school to show her friends, she would just have to describe it to them. Riley doesn't have a full house because when I was putting them together she snuck into the kitchen and ate one of the sides. She didn't seem to mind though. Merry Christmas everyone!

Grandma's dinner

On Sunday my Grandma invited everyone over for dinner and cake for the three kids having birthdays. She made three different cakes! (Chocolate, cherry chip, and red velvet). It was a lot of fun seeing everyone before the crunch of finals, weddings, and the holidays. Thanks grandma!

Date Night

Last weekend Tami offered to watch the kids so we could go out for Jim's birthday. We took the kids to Cafe Rio (so yummy!) where I had my first pork salad (I always get the burrito). Soo goood! Then we took the kids to Tami's and we headed up to Salt Lake. We walked around Temple Square and then went to hear the Utah Symphony. It was a beautiful performance--but we were so tired! We must be getting old :)

Jim Birthday

We didn't have a ton of time to celebrate Jim's birthday and so we just had a low-key night opening presents and having ice cream. He got a frisbee and a new sandwich maker, but hasn't had time to use either. The kids had a blast with them though :)
Happy birthday Jim!!!

Thanksgiving Week 2012

We had a great week with the Highams here. We started Sunday with a big family dinner (and a practice run on seating enough people in our house!), then Wednesday was skiing for those who didn't have to work or go to school. We also got to see Tami's new house and hang out in their current basement :). Thursday was Thanksgiving and Grandma Higham did all the cooking! It was delicious and so fun seeing everyone. Friday we did our Black Friday shopping (and Thursday night, now) and Jim and the boys went caving, and then we had a cousins party. Unfortunately, we got the stomach bug that is going around but by Sunday we were feeling much better. Thanks everyone for the great week!

Fun Weekend

This weekend the Highams came to town and we had a nice time with everyone. We went to the temple on Saturday morning, then out to breakfast as a family (We were a large crowd in a little Kneader's but it was yummy!). Then Tori and I went to see The Nutcracker while everyone else went up to see Tami's new house. Sunday we had a nice family dinner (thanks Grandma Higham!) and got to see Tami and Liz too! Fun times!
