TAGGING SPEED: I have an odd work schedule, so the days and hours vary wildly each week - time zones aren't really a thing for me as a result. I tend to boomerang tag when I have time. But even when I'm busy, I try to reply to tags at least once a day. That said, I also back-tag forever! (I had a thread once that went 3 months with no tags and picked up again where we left off.) So if I am boomerang tagging, please know I don't expect you to do the same, I just like an empty inbox.

SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Sherlock is Asexual. More than likely he's aromantic as well. There are many clues to this, not the least of which is in "A Study in Pink" when John is asking him about his relationships. He mentions not being interested in women or men and that he's married to his work. Further confirmed, that when Irene is naked, he doesn't NOT look at her face. You can toss as much sexual activity as you want at him, it will be met with disinterest. Though, he might get scientific within his observations, he will not engage in any form of sexual activities - because he simply isn't interested.

SCIENCE OF DEDUCTION: Sherlock uses detailed character information extensively. Any detail that another character offers that Sherlock can see, hear, taste, touch or smell (as appropriate), is fair game for Sherlock to make his deductions - because ANY character has access to that information, if they only paid attention. He doesn't read minds, he reads actions and details that are offered about the character by the character themselves. (IE: [Character A is speaking nervously in a high squeaky voice.] Would be fair game for a deduction. [Character B thinks he might be getting sick.] would not be fair game unless information was given in speech or specific actions.) That being said, Mun is 1) Open to Sherlock getting deductions 'wrong.' and 2) Open to OOC conversations about how different things should be addressed for plot purposes. You can always tag this post (comments screened) to discuss things. An example of how the deduction works in RP.

TEXTING: Sherlock isn't likely to check his voicemail or emails, he prefers texting. There is an entry below that can be used to contact him.

OOC PERMISSIONS:
BACK-TAGGING: Is great as long as both parties are still interested in the thread.
THREAD -JACKING: Ask first, please. (unless permission is granted ahead of time)
FOURTH WALLING: Sherlock has an online website, feel free to Fourth Wall the character as appropriate, however please don't fourth wall the actor. (Fine to confuse him for ANY Sherlock Holmes out there - do not confuse him for Benedict Cumberbatch/other characters he's played)
OFFENSIVE/TRIGGERY SUBJECTS: Harming Children (all forms) is a big one. Sex: "Sex doesn't alarm me," however, rape/non-con/dub-con/sexual assault, etc. can be triggery depending on how they're handled. Please PM/comment below before involving Sherlock in these areas. Beyond that, I'm pretty hard to offend. If any come up, I'll let you know.

IC PERMISSIONS:
HUGGING: You'd better have a damn good reason. He's more the "I can touch you, you can't touch me" sort. He might get hostile, and will definitely find a way to distance himself. (note: those he's named as friends: John, Lestrade, Mrs. Hudson, Molly and Mary pretty have permission always.)
KISSING: If it's more than plutonic, expect it to confuse him - see notes on sexual orientation. And if it IS plutonic, please note comments in Hugging.
FLIRTING: It will probably go over his head, but you can try.
FIGHTING: Sherlock has a good knowledge of various fighting techniques, so if you pick a fight with him, be prepared for a fight.
INJURING: I will allow Sherlock to get hurt. Depending on the scenario, up to and including needing hospitalization. Rape/sexual assault, please PM first. If you're planning to hurt him more than a good fist fight, please PM first.
KILLING: In general? No. If it's a "Death Meme" (or similar), then of course. If you're in doubt, please PM.
TELEPATHY/MIND READING: All Sherlock has is his mind. So you can try, but expect him to know what you're doing and try to stop you by any means necessary.
WARNINGS: Sherlock is an arse. There is a wide range of debate in the fandom as to why. In the big picture, the 'why' doesn't matter, because it's nothing that Sherlock is interested in 'fixing'. But he doesn't really realise he's quite as big of an arse as he is. He thinks he's just being honest.
