Birthday

Had a fun day. Been busy attending a congres in Brussels. Interesting and learned a lot. They took care of a nice organic lunch and on the way home I bought a nice chocolate mousse gateau. Delicious. I got nice and beautiful presents, so short, it was a wonderful day.

Off the bucket list

Yesterday HD and myself took a curling clinic. We Always see it on TV during the Winter Olympics and we thought we should give it a go.

 

After an introduction of half an hour in which we were shown how the professionals do it, ahum... It wa stime to get on the ice. Must admit, I wasn´t rally comfortable at it at first, I don´t know how to skate or skeeler, so...

But I must say you get used to the feeling and after about half an hour, I could sweep and walk on it.

 

It really was great fun to do and defintely worth repeating. And as you maybe can see, we won by 3-2, the losers you can see in the mirror behind us. Great fun.

Crocheting...

Haven´t crocheted in a while, but I found my mojo and here are the results of the last couple of days...

The octopus hat is the new hat we will be wearing on our next ski holiday, so one done, eight more to go...

The pussy hat, I couldn´t resist, I had to make some...

 

The last one I made last night, because I wanted to finish the last of the wool I used for the pussyhat.

China Light

Yesterday was the last day of China Light in the Antwerp Zoo and we decided last minute to have a visit. But boy, was it great. No regrets of having bought the (expensive) tickets.

 

Of course I forgot my selfie stick, but I hlped out some girls and they took a pic of us at the enterance.

 

The light sculptures were magnificent... 

Since we saw the penguins of Madagascar with Dave...

 



 

 

And the dragon at the end, the picture doesn´t do it justice, but they all looked great. If they ever come back you should check it out...

Another great holiday

After two days of snow and very low temperatures -23°C, we did get Sunshine on the last day. Great day fro skiing, although a tad cold...

 

Everyboday had a great time and even the hats were a success. So here are this years seclection from star wars...

 

Last breafast in Austria for our skiparty and then it was off for the long drive home. Everything went smooth until we reached The Netherlands were there was a lot of black ice and we saw three accidents within a couple of kilometers, so the drive took us a bit longer from teh Dutch border, but once in Belgium, everything was OK again.

 

So summary, great weather, lost of snow, great fun, delicious food and a fabulous skiparty makes a fun holiday!

Another great day...

 

Another great day, last night we got fresh snow and the kids enjoyed themselves.

 

Son #3 and cousin #2 chatting while they are waiting for their lessons to start.

 



 

Son #1 who is in for some mischief... The weather is great although a bit cold, but hey, it is winter. Great company, great food, great holiday.

So we arrived at our home away from home... Afetr a great lunch in the sun, we were able to get into the appartement and the kids went sledding.

 

Son #3 was ready to fire up the New year early in the evening.

 

But first we had our traditional gourmet, this year for the first time with all the kids.

 

 

After dinner the wait until twelve o´clock was a bit long...

 

 But there it was. Happy New year from all of us to all of you!
