I meant to post this the other day but well you know how that goes.
My old phone died taking about two+ years of phone numbers with it. I did not have a recent backup, so I ask kindly if you would reply to this post (all replies are screened) with your digits if you want me to have them.
Or you can just call/text my phone if you have my number with the info.
On a brighter note, I got an CrackBlackBerry 8830 World Edtion like this one minus the Sprint logo(I'm on Alltel)
Hypothetical: You have 4 tickets to a large event where 2 tickets were grouped with 6 other members of your family and the other 2 were 15 seats away from the first group. Two members of your party drop out and tell you to say they are going to try to sell the tickets and you should help. How would you split the tickets up?
a) Seats 15 and 16 you sell to strangers and sit in seat 3, selling/giving seat 4 to someone you know and like to hang out with. b) You sell seat 3 and 4 to strangers, sit in seat 15 and give/sell 16 to someone you like.
Most people would go for option A; better to be in a group of people who you know and its family. Reality: Same situation as above.
My step-mom, who lacks a lot of common sense, chose option B above and sold seats 3 and 4 to strangers relegating me to the seats in the middle of the row away from my family. Great! Thanks! I did not want to sit with my cousins and enjoy the game with my family. Surely they will love sitting next to people they don't freakin know who's main goal is to chat with somebody in the student section. Brilliant move there, Edith (not her real name, but think All in the Family; Im too nice to type dingbat... oh wait well never mind you get the picture).
This is not the first time I have been pissed about this kind of crap. I think sometimes people forget that these tickets were my mother's. My step dad pays for them and does not ask or take anything for them so what he does with them is up to him, but a little consideration would be nice.
Also she asked if I would get up early and go to secure them parking for next week's early game. This also irritates the crap out of me. I told them the first week no DAY of August that game-day parking is going to be terrible this year because the university has taken over 800 parking places and bulldozed them to start construction on a new complex of dorms for students. I told them to call the Alumni center and see about securing at least parking for themselves before the parking lot filled up. They waited until the week before the game and were severely disappointed as they sold all the parking spaces for this year. So at this point it became My Problem necessitating 10 phone calls about potential parking places. This woman has never heard of Google or fathomed the use of that vast well of knowledge known as the Internet to look up something like a phone number. That problem somewhat worked itself out as they found a place across the street from where we usually park. Then today she called me asking if I could look up the phone number for the apartment complex that we parked at last week so she could call them and ask about pre-paying for next weeks game. Good lord woman look it up! Quit interrupting my day with stupid questions. Please.
I actually think this one has some intellegence behind it, so it gets done.
THE INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich.Something random. Whatever you like. 2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better. 3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions. 4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post. 5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
Yes of course. At points in my life I have been very close to leaving, but I have a good deal where I am for the most part. Currently I'm waiting on my girlfriend, Lauren, to get done with vet school and get a job to see where I go next. It just depends on where she ends up to where I end up. I want to stay in the southeast to be close to my Dad and some of the family things I do like going to Auburn home football games in the fall. Sometimes the wanderlust gets heavy but I always end up coming back to staying in-state or at least nearly in-state.
2. Are you still in school?
Yes, I just took the summer off and it has been somewhat relaxing. I'll start back in on the 20th of August. I really have to register for classes, but its not that big of a deal. If one is closed or full, I'll ask the dean of that department; it is nice working at a college sometimes. I have to make up my mind if I am going to go towards an MIS degree and all its attendant crappy business courses (obviously I feel them to be a major turnoff at this point; one of the main reasons I did not go to school this summer are business classes) or go towards a Comp Sci degree at Jacksonville St or UAH. I will figure out which school based on where Lauren ends up, so I might have to revamp that plan if she goes someplace else. I really want a degree from Auburn for the classical reason of that is where both my Mom and Dad graduated. I'm fairly burned out on some of the hoops that I would have to jump through to get either a MIS degree or a CS degree at Auburn.
3. How is the diet?
Non existent. I'm right back to 290 where I started back in April or May. I need a kick in the ass really to get on it and drop about 40-60 pounds. I like crap food too much. And I'm lazy which makes it doubly hard and provides a convenient excuse to maintain the status quo.
4. What is your favorite color?
Depends on the day. I like darker colors more than anything. Probably a green or a blue. One of those lovely muted cold colors between there. I have the overwhelming temptation to put an html color code in here, but I won't.
5. Do you think zombies are cuddly?
Depends on the zombie. Zombie koala bears = good. Zombie carnivorous yard gnomes = not so much. Zombie trombone playing marching band spiders = just freakin weird.
Long time no crazy brain dump. I put the headphones on and queued up a bunch of random crap in iTunes so lets empty the noggin. It is a large post and so I cut it into sections.
New Chair FTW: Raynor Maverick: an extensive use (5+ hours a day) chair to replace the one that I broke the base on the other day; a birthday present to myself. It is not an Aeron or a clone, but it should fit the bill nicely for me. I need a new base for my other chair. The chair part is good, but the base has a broken arm that will cause the chair to tip over quite quickly, as I found out the other day after the leg snapped and dumped my ass onto the floor.
It was tedious to acquire this chair, but it did provide the opportunity to go eat at Red Robin in Columbus and Montgomery. Awesome burgers and milkshakes. Also bottomless fries (aka all you can eat). And the staff is pretty cheerful. That might not last; both of these locations have only been open a few months. I think they have locations in Huntsville and Trussville. I highly recommend them.
Lauren rocks: For my birthday she got my step dad to pick out some pictures of Mom and send them to her. She took them and had Cameragraphics clean up the ones that had some stains and stuff on them. Then she picked three and put them in a nice frame. The other pictures she put in an album. I did not have a lot of hard copy pictures of my mom. I have them, they are just in Monroeville for the most part. I was blown away by this gift. I cried. Awesome Present!
She also got me a kids glider and launcher and gift card to Sears. :)
Her mom took us out to dinner the other night at Amsterdam Cafe. Tasty!
Diet has taken a break. Back on it ... soon. After finals or after all my projects during the break between spring and summer semesters.
Speaking of school, I have A's in both of my classes. I made a 97 on my research paper for English 102 and 108 on my last Macro Econ test. I freakin get Macro a lot better than Microecon. Yay me.
I'm still keeping up with my calorie intake, i've just been lazy about dumping it from the google spreadsheet it is in. It is fairly ponderous to manage the sheet as it sits so I need to rework it a bit.
I am doing well, and just doing the basic crap I have whacked about 7 pounds off since the 6th. I'll ride this train until I have to start doing real work to remove pounds. I've cut normal softdrinks out completely. The only things I have been drinking are water, crystal light, light lemonaide, and Coke Zero.
Could be lack of caffeine if you are used to drinking a lot of soda. Could be sodium overload, too? Could be aspartame in the Crystal Light? Try iced tea, if you like that kind of stuff, with a small…
Agreed, dude is wordy. But he is an engineer/programmer so this is what I would expect. I like it because he has some simple to use spreadsheets that help average out the actual weight loss over time…
